- Summary: A private dinner meeting becomes a full on party as several adventurers show up and join Sandy and Sabina at their table. Paenitia brings Ramirez into the TarRaCe, and Ravenstongue arrives soon after, with Pothy demanding snacks from Sandy and the staff, who oblige. Aryia comes in from the baths, having relaxed, and Seyardu finds herself again trying to enter the TarRaCe with a giant peacock tail in the way. They get together and Paenitia relays how she and Aryia successfully wrestled Thurid at the Temple of Angoron. All are impressed, and Seyardu laments not having the chance despite a nice introduction. Ravenstongue is happy to see her tutor, but also wishes she had martial prowress like the halfing and shadow elf. There is an interruption, someone in the baths unhappy with silver glitter, and Aryia and Sabina go to investigate. Paenitia goes to check the Kitchen as Stjepan arrives. No, nothing has escaped. He joins the few remaining at the table and catches up, also agreeing to wrestle the silverscale. Pothy starts visibly yawning, which appears contageous, so Ravenstongue takes him out to let him sleep.

Inside, this two-story structure has been almost completely opened up. Generous windows on both stories allow daytime sunlight and cooling night breezes to flow in as needed, while the brick walls have been whitewashed - contrasting with the dark-stained beams and supports, and the rich polish on the wooden floor. A broad strip of stone runs from the entrance to a framed doorway set into the opposite wall, with a sign above the lintel declaring that the baths are to be found that way.
The ground floor is sprinkled with tables and chairs of assorted sizes, offering welcome to guests both large and small. One whole corner of the building - into which guests are not permitted entry - has been given over to the kitchen, which serves as the domain of the famed monster chef Ligum Serforus. Mundane meals are available, but the chef delights in offering up obscure dishes made from the freshest of monster ingredients.
Opposite the kitchen a small bar runs in front of an array of shelves, displaying a broad selection of beverages (most of them alcoholic). The bar-top has been fashioned from what looks to have been old pieces of armor, fused and welded together before being polished to provide a near-smooth finish. Set above it, three human-sized statues have been built into an alcove in the wall: Tarien, Rada and Ceinara jointly keep benevolent watch over the room and its occupants.
To the right of the entrance, a small stage offers a platform for a handful of performers at a time. To the left of the door, a spiral staircase of wrought iron winds its way up to a balcony dining area, that is chiefly reserved for special events and parties.

It's a lovely day at the TarRaCe. Sandy is here, of course, and she's seated across from Sabina. They appear to be talking about something, or nothing, in particular. It's hard to say. Either way, the elf is glancing towards the back door.
"..how long do you think it'll take them?" she asks her.
Bina sits ther with mithral coyote half mask in place and grins widely. "Patience. Patience. Everything in good time. The wait can be hard but it's most often worth it in the end." She sips on her wine and then looks about the room to ensure all is as it should be.
Outside, there is the distant sound of a very loud peacock call, 'Ruaaaah!'
A moment later the door to the TarRaCe opens a little, enough for a Lucht in red armour to squeeze through. She seems to be holding the door closed and something back. Her distinctive mask pans as she searches for someone.
"Hola! Sabina, my friend. Ramirez graciously calls for his rival, Lord Emp, to do battle and if he is not here, to enter." Yes. She's struggling to hold back a bird-brained wild horse. "I tell him Lord Emp is not here, so he want in. This is possible?"
'Ruaaah' echoes from behind her, as Ramirez asks again.
A white raven flies into the TarRaCe, squawking loudly as he carries something in his mouth. The striking avian is followed by a half-sil girl, her violet eyes wide with panic and her black braided hair in slight disarray. "Pothy!" she says, snatching him finally from the air and cuddling him to her chest. She takes a gold coin from his beak and sighs. "Don't steal money from me, *please!* I worked hard for that!"
"Snacks," Pothy says in a very firm manner, before he looks up with his blue eyes and notices Sandy. "Teacher!" he squawks as he wriggles from the girl's grasp and flies over to Sandy's shoulder.
"Oh! Madame Sandy! S-Sorry about the noise, everyone," Ravenstongue says, her face flushed in sheer embarrassment as she looks around.
Coming from the baths is a scarred mul'neissa, her straightening out her damp hair with her fingers with a small bag strapped across her shoulder. Yep. That place was certainly her new favorite spot. She idly snaps her fingers by her side as she goes through the main room.
She passes by the group, pauses, and turns back around to give a wave to everyone that she (mostly) knew.
"Suddenly, it's a party," says Sandy, taking a lean back in her chair, hands going up behind her head as she arches into a stretch.
"Uff. Long day. Good to see you, Apprentice," she tells Ravenstongue. Aryia is noted. A nod in her direction. She still has work to do with her after all.
Bina is smiling as more folks enter and nods to Pae. "If he can be on his very best behavior and stay near the cornor he can enter, oh Paladin of Tarien. The peacock is up on the roof asleep I believe." She then turns and blinks at the bird on Sandy's shoulder and then at the term used. "Apprentice. Hmmm." The smile grows as she leans in towards Sandy. "You can't help yourself can you."
Seyardu was finding herself yet again in the area near the collosseum district, this time after some more training done in arena. Again she passed by the TarRaCe,and in another bizarre twist of fate, it was the second time she found the tavern door entrance blocked by a hippogryph-peacok. Such a bizarre reoccurence deigned investigation, or so she told herself. Could just be another excuse to visit the place. And so she waited patiently by the door, offering Ramirez greeting.
Ravenstongue curtsies in an elegant but clearly practiced manner. "Yes, I am Madame Sandy's apprentice," she says, smiling in a rather proud manner. "You may call me Ravenstongue--or Raven for short."
"Snaaaacks," Pothy whines. Ravenstongue snickers a little.
"And that sweet bird is Apotheosis, or Pothy for short. Are you one of Madame Sandy's friends? -- I am so happy to see so many familiar faces tonight, too!"
The white peacock-andalusian rubs his head against Seyardu once in greeting, and continues to block the entrance while his mistress sorts things out.
"Yes, Ramirez, you can come in, be good." Paenitia says, opening the door wide enough that her hippogryph can duck and squeeze through it. He is a lot of peacock, and a lot of horse, and the small knight has her work cut out for her. She guides him behind the tables to a spot against the wall. Where he takes up the whole wall.
Ramirez clicks his beak several times at Pothy, greeting. He knows who finds the snacks. He exhales a short whinny.
Paenitia finds herself a right sized chair and moves it over to the table. "Hola comrades, it is good to see you all. Aryia, Sabina, Ravenstongue, and Seyardu, and Sandy."
Aryia looks further suprised as more people she knew arrived. She gives a small wave to them as well, though her gaze narrowed at Pothy. She purses her lips, glaring at the bird for a tense moment before slowly looking away. She points to fingers to her eyes, then to the white raven.
Though, she smiles as Ramriez comes in, her reaching up to pat him on the side.
The staff here are well trained and move to the fast growing table with the called for snacks. Well someone called for them. Was heard plainly enough. Water is brought first for all, even the white feathered mount and white feathered familiar.
Pothy is content to stay on Sandy's shoulder until he notices the fine white feathered friend. And, well... birds of a feather flow together. Pothy flies to Ramirez to land right beside him, happy croaks leaving him. Sandy wasn't putting out snacks for him anyway. He does, however, stare right back at Aryia. "What do you want?" he asks, imitating a male voice more comfortable in a sailor's dive bar than... Well, the TarRaCe.
"Peace on your nest, Seyardu!" Ravenstongue greets the newcomer with a wave and a smile.
Ramirez wickers pleasantly at Aryia, feeling the pat and recognizing the source. He knows the Shadow Elf as a stalwart companion to his mistress. He often thinks in magnificent terms, for he is. He dips his head, drinks some water. Then, he greets Pothy, returning the croaks and watching the smaller bird.
Paenitia also raises a glass. Her voice is cheerful, her mask has the fixed grin. "Aryia has the story to tell. Yes. It is a good one." Sandy glances towrads the back again, yes, and then Ptohy is here and whiniung. All these animals!
Sandy eyes the snack-demanding Pothy and produces a sweet roll from her pouch. She slices off a hunk of it and sets it aside or him. Then eyes Ramirez. So many birds.
"She asked me to teach her magic," says Sandy to Sabina, "That's the least I can do. No, really. The least."
Sabina nods to Raven. "I am a friend of Sandy's. Like to her annoyance at times." She looks as more and move folk come in and seems pleased. She motioms to the all to gather. "Come come. Bring a seat if you haven't already." She nods then to the servers that grin water and snacks. "Partake of things. Todays special is deep fried shrieker shroom steaks if you'd care to try them."
Aryia just stares at the raven a little bit longer before stepping towards the table. He should know. The threat was still standing.
Though, she blinks at Paenitia, trying to figure out what she was talkinga bout for a little bit before breaking into a large grin and snickering to herself. She picks up a glass of water and flexes an arm. She points to Paenitia, then herself. "She and I make a good team!" the shadow elf exuded with sharp movements before gesturing for the Lucht to tell it. It was rather involved, and writing everything down in a large group like this wasn't the best method. <Handspeech>
"Ah, peave on your nest, Paenitia, Ravenstounge." The silver sith'makar replied once she was able to enter the building proper. "Aryia and Sandy as well. It seems like this is a popular place to stop, but I cannot say that I do not come here somewhat regularly now, myself."
Pothy takes the sweet roll very happily, and... Oh dear. Oh wow! Pothy splits the sweet roll and nudges the rest of it to Ramirez on the floor. The solidarity between creatures of pale plumage is real!
"I promise Pothy won't cause any problems," Ravenstongue tries to reassure Aryia, laughing nervously. "He's more content to rile me up than anything. And yes, it is pretty popular around here, huh? Maybe I'll have that steak special..." Ravenstongue looks thoughtful as she contemplates her options.
Pothy's eyes lock back onto Aryia as he eats his sweet roll. Just watching. Waiting. Judging...
Ramirez eyes Sandy back with eyes the size of teacup saucers. Especially the sweet-roll, that gets a lot of attention. He takes the split piece that Pothy gives with a grateful whickering noise, then a beak rattle.
Paenita says, "I will try the shrieker shroom, that sound unusual." Her attention is on Aryia and her hand gestures, and then she nods. The Dark Lucht stands on her seat, to be a little taller.
"Okay. Warrior Thurid challenge us to the wrestling match, and there is one held at the Mountain Temple of Angoron. I am flying with Ramirez, we jump off the Airstation, and I see the matches below and hear the grunting. Ramirez..."
'Ruaaaah.' Ramirez interrupts.
"Yes Ramirez, I tell them how glorious you fly." The Red Knight looks in her mount's direction, then back to the table, "He fly beautifully. We land in the sand, and take up the challenge."
"It is hard, because Thurid if you know her, she is the tall and solid one. So I go low, and Aryia, she also go low, and we trip her. She on the ground, and we do the holds, moving up to her head. We keep the weight on her head and shoulders, make the arm locks. Aryia does them, very well, while I help hold and make sure she can't plant her feet."
Her story is accompanied by moments where she acts out some of the movements, arm squeezes and twists, several times pointing at Aryia in case she adds demonstrations. She sounds quite cheerful, "She tap out! Angoron has the good show."
The sith'makar reached for one of the glasses put out of water to sip on while she listened to those speaking, and the story Paenitia told on hers and Aryia's behalf. "You were able to wrestle them to the floor? I hope this does not come off as rude, but even between the two of you, that is impressive. There was another, I believe they are a giantborn, they challenged me to a similar wrestling match, though I haven't gotten around to it yet. But I am not surprised either. Aryia is quite strong, and I have seen you in combat, Paenitia."
Bina motions to the server and sets about getting the orders requested by her tablemates. "Thurid is a fighter for sure. I remember seeing her in the games months ago. She is not to be taken lightly. You two did well." she says to Aryia and Pae. "Will you all be wanting drinks as well?"
Aryia acts out the story along with Paenitia, her miming an arm lock as well as how she choked the giantborn out with just a leg. She looks incredibly proud of herself, chest puffed out and stance wide. "Was really hard, but we did it!" she commented with a spare hand. <Handspeech>
She gives a thankful nod towards Seyardu but shakes her head at Bina. Aryia holds up her glass of water and gives a thumbs up. This would suffice for now.
"Fine, you too," says Sandy, slicing off another little bit of sweet roll for Ramirez. That is handed over now as well. She lets out a sigh, then proceeds to cleasr her throat and give Bina a long suffering look.
From the back, where the baths are, there is some lady swearing up a storm all of a sudden.
Ravenstongue seems enthralled by the story told by the Red Knight, her eyes sparkling. "Wow! I wish that I was strong like you or Madame Aryia," Raven says wistfully. "I'm afraid I'm not good at much yet... Madame Sandy is trying to change that, though!"
Pothy finishes off the sweet roll he was given by Sandy in the meantime, and he looks back up at her. "Snacks?" he says, his blue eyes sparkling as much as Raven's are from the storytelling.
"We were." Paenitia dips her head towards Seyardu. Standing on a chair while everyone is seated finally gives her a height advantage. Her mask has a wide grin, but from the lilt in her voice she likely has one as well. "The giantborn like to wrestle, this I have seen. You should try Seyardu, you are formidable in size."
She drops down to her seat, "I will take the beer, much thanks, Sabina." She makes a fist pumping gesture at Aryia, "It was hard, but the teamwork triumph."
Ramirez makes a happy caw and takes the slice of sweetroll. He bobs his head, staring at Sandy, someone said snacks, he expects snacks now.
Paenitia faces Ravenstongue, "The mages move the world, soon you will do the wondrous things."
The swearing woman emerges from the baths and lets loose an even louder curse. The cause of the woman's ire is easy to see. Her body covered by a towel to keep her modest but the otherwise damp woman has been coated with a silvery glitter that sticks to her wet skin and hair. She's trying to brush it off with some effect but not much. And snickers start up about the room.
"No, no thank you, I am fine without alcohol, but I appreciate the offer." The sith'makar quickly waved off. "I am sure it was really hard, most likely, not that I do not trust you saying it was. Teamwork is a way to compensate for disadvantages, it is true."
Seyardu chuckled, spinning one of the chairs around so she could sit down. "I would like to try that, though I would not say I am formidable in size myself. There are very few of my kin who are as short as I am, and I have yet to meet one shorter."
Sandy covers her mouth with her hand for a moment. This is so she can get a moment to straighten her expression and she looks towards Sabina. A solemn nod is given. "I believe you might have a problem in one of the baths," she informs her, casually. Another bit of sweet roll is sliced off for the birds, a casual nod to Ravenstongue.
Aryia looks over curiously at the glittery woman that emerged from the baths. Strange, Aryia didn't have any issues when she went in there. She checks herself, peeking under her sleeves and looking at her stomach for any of the sparkles.
Pothy takes the sweet roll and he once again divides it. This one's for the birds! ...Actually, they're *all* for the birds as far as Pothy's concerned. He nudges half again to Ramirez, although his interest is caught soon enough by the lady leaving the baths covered in glitter. He laughs his usual laughing noise, imitating some overly posh little man from somewhere: "Ahohohoho. Ahohohoho."
Ravenstongue shoots a look at Pothy. "Hey, how would *you* like glitter on your feathers?" she asks. Pothy croaks dismissively at her before returning to the activities of the Inaugural Pale Avian Snack Convention.
Paenitia turns to look at the commotion, then bursts out laughing. Something not appreciated by the woman and her modesty. She shakes her head and tells the table, "Glitter in the baths? That you should charge extra Sabina, she looks magical."
Ramirez clicks his beak happily. Another sweet roll. He shall remember this great confectionary elf who brought the good times for him and his friend Pothy.
The Red Knight looks at Seyardu, nodding slowly. There's an intensity in her eyes, but at least one thing goes unsaid. Instead, she comments, "The friend dragons I have known are the very large in size, but that does not count for all things. This, I say confidently."
Bina returns Sandy's look and then she too is looking towards the cursing woman and the sparkles. She does a grand job of keeping her smile it's normal size and shape and not laughing. Her eyes roll over to Pae and she gives the small warrior a finger over lips sign. She chuckles. "Now.. how to handle this?" She says softly to those at the table. or perhaps herself.
"Yes, you would be one who would be able to say that. I trust your judgement on that." Seyardu chuckled. Though it died out as she saw the commotion.
"How to handle this? I do not know. I know the patrons to this tavern, but this seems, a bit excessive." The sith'makar said, frowning just slightly. She waved the swearing woman over.
"What is the matter? Did something happen in the bathhouse? If you need assistance in any way, please let me know, as it seems something bothered you.
Was... some of the glitter on her too? Aryia wasn't sure. What was going on? She stood, sharing a look with Paenitia as she gives a parting wave to the group. Not sure if anyone would understand her, but she motions, "I'll go back there to see what's going on." <Handspeech>
She downs the rest of her water, and slinks back to the baths.
She really, really hoped she wouldn't have to buy new clothes. Again.
Bina coughs into her hand and she finally lets her smile grow wider then it should be. "Well.. er.. this is certianly an interesting turn of events. I should.. go check on things. Make sure this doesn't happen again. Or something along those lines." And she vaniches into thin air. Litterally vanishes. Her vacent chair moves and the soft chuckles of the invisible priestess can be heard moving away.
"And I shall check the food!" Paenitia declares, as if she was vowing to accompany a party across a continent into a cursed land. She's only heading to the kitchen. She hops off her chair and lands with a clank of armour, then pads over to pat Ramirez before heading to the back.
Ramirez, for his part, is being the perfect gentleman, a nice sedate horse-sized peacock that is part horse and occupying all of a wall and sharing sweet-rolls and snaks with a similarily white avian.
"Back soon!" Paenitia promises.
Ravenstongue scoops up Pothy from his spot on the floor and finally takes a seat, sighing. "I'd probably just get in the way of everyone looking around and investigating," she says.
"Merp," Pothy croaks, somewhat angry about being interrupted from his very comfortable grazing spot next to the peacock-gryph.
Stjepan comes in from outside, ducking under the lintel. He looks around, looking at the exodus. "Some of the food get loose?" is his first question to the room.
"Well, I do not know if she actually expected to find something to help." Seyardu sighed. "I have the suspicion that they were not innocent in what happened. Regardless, there is not much to be done at this point.
She waved to the giantborn. "Nothing is out of the kitchens that should not be. This was the man I was mentioning earlier, Ravenstongue."
Ravenstongue giggles as she waves hello at Stjepan. "Oh, I know Stjepan! He was one of the first people I met after arriving from Rune. How are you this evening, Mister Stjepan?"
Pothy's eyes *dilate*. It's the big man! Big man has big snacks! YES! The white raven flies to Stjepan's shoulder, croaking excitedly.
Stjepan looks up and waves. "Hi Pothy," first things first after all. He nods to Seyardu. "What did you say?" A grin. "How're you doing, Raven? I'm well. Hungry." A pause. "Good."
"I was just saying how you were looking to wrestle someone the other day, but we were unable to." The sith'makar explained. "I was not spreading rumors or anything of that sort, but my friend Aryia was speaking about how she wrestled a giantborn named Thurid with Paenitia."
There's a lift of a mug towards Stjepan and then Sandy is giving more bread to the birds. Because of course she is.
Ravenstongue is eyeballed, however. Briefly. And then she is abandoined by Pothy for Stjepan too.
"Hmph," she says.
"Snacks!!" Pothy says urgently, clearly sympathizing with Stjepan's eternal hunger. He croaks more excitedly, acting as a miniature fanfare (raven) trumpet for Stjepan's pre-meal procession.
"Mmhm, and I was saying how I wished I was strong, too. All I'm good for is charming magic, after all," Raven says.
Stjepan looks at Pothy, "I'm going to have to /get/ food first, you know." He grabs a seat, and waves for service. After all, he knows how this story goes. Then, he looks over at Raven. "All? Are you selling yourself short?" He nods to Seyardu. "Don't worry -- I can do fine without rumours, but good to know."
"I was merely saying how I wished to try at another time, and Paenitia agreed, or rather said I should as well. But I would not bother you if you are busy for the forseeable future.
"But I agree with Stejpan, Ravenstongue. You sell yourself far, far too short. You have a way to go with your magic, and I think you will be capable of much."
Ravenstongue sighs a little. "You should have seen me in my first adventure. I screamed so much! Those kobolds were nasty!" she says. But she shakes a fist with that statement, too. "I won't give up on adventuring, though. I just have to get stronger."
Stjepan is taking too long for Pothy's snack fulfillment needs. The void is, after all, all-consuming and won't wait for food to be *ordered*. So Pothy flies back to Sandy's shoulder. "Snacks?" he queries. Blue eyes plead for carbs. As many as Sandy will give, please!
Pothy is eyed by the elf and she then finally gives him another. Just because.
She then clears her throat at Ravenstongue,. "Don't worry. You will. Eventually, you'll smite those Kobolds, too." She smirks, briefly.
Stjepan orders food for himself -- he seems pleased enough for Sandy to tank Pothy's hunger. He smiles faintly, though. "We all need to get stronger," he says it almost like a prayer.
Pothy... Pothy yawns. Do birds yawn? This bird does.
Except Raven is looking at Pothy with confusion, too. "Umm... I think I'd better go take Pothy outside. Or home, maybe. I don't think I've ever heard him yawn before." She waves briefly to everyone. "Goodnight, everyone! Thank you for feeding Pothy so many sweet rolls, Madame Sandy," she says, smiling sweetly, as she scoops up Pothy and puts him on her shoulder. The raven yawns the entire way out of the place as Raven leaves.
*Yaaaaaawwwwwwwwn.* Are raven yawns contagious? Who knows.
They seem to be.
