Seyardu's Sleeves

- Title: Silver Sleeves
- Emitter: Seyardu
- Characters: Seyardu, Rocky, Merek, Aya, Jinks, Braelnoir, Lily
- Place: A06: Lower Alexandrian Gardens District
- Time: Thursday, July 22, 2021, 10:41 PM
- Summary: Seyardu is waiting in the Lower Gardens, and Rocky has silently drifted up beside her. Merek arrives with a gift, the completed sleeves for the Silverscale. Black with a moon design, these are the AnyGarment sleeves she purchased. The Sith'Makar enthusiastically accepts them. Nearby, Jinks is teaching a few gnome children some gnome games. Illicit, of course, and he provides them with some pouches as a matron arrives to chastise him. He handles it innocently. Lily arrives, riding Aya, and knows there is nothing innocent about Jinks. She watches him, like a descendent of the creature that also parallel descended into a hawk. Aya wears her bacon-smeared lizard niece well. Conversation turns to Sith'Makar, and by extension Kobold games, although the Kobold ones sound a little disturbing. 'Climb the Parent' is clearly popular. Seyardu questions Rocky about Cryosanthia's return, but he has few answers. She had already returned when she summoned him back from the dead. Jinks is surprise backstabbed, dies, recovers and departs. The conversation will have to be taken up with the Whitescale. Merek meditates, then expounds on his experiences with death, while Seyardu wonders what failing to talk to the dead would do. All of this upsets Lily, who understands only half the tradespeak and assumes they are talking about her parents. Braelnoir, Lily's new perch, understands all clearly, and likewise is disturbed by the conversation's turn. The pair decide to leave, and Seyardu joins them.

The city is divided, unofficially, into Upper Alexandria and Lower Alexandria. The Upper resides further up on the slope of the mountain, and rests to the east of the great river. The Lower resides to the west of it, and if the Lower could be said to have a heart, this verdant park might be its center.
Amid all the bustle of the Lower City, its Gardens District provides a peaceful respite. The warmth of Althea holds sway here, and though Daeus receives the occasional nod, this is clearly Her domain. She shares it with Dana, in the verdant green of this area. Vines and trees, remain green no matter the season and numerous flowers bloom along the park's walkways. Faerie-light lanterns hang from branches and along hedgerows.
A number of shops may be found here, most notably the city hospital, for which the park was originally built. Though now open to the public, the gardens by and large, remain underneath the hospital's care. However, in the Althean tradition, much of the work is provided by volunteers.

It was late in the day now, the sun past it's apex in the sky, and likely to disappear across the horizon soon. A welcome reprieve from the heat of the day, which kep most out of the gardens, and more at the riverside or other areas. Though, it did not deter the Silver sith-makar present in the slightest. She was underneath one of the many trees, sitting with her eyes closed. Those who may know her new it was a very rare occurence when she would not be found for evening prayer, and today was no exception. In her lap was a small stone carving, attached to a necklace, though perhaps strangely, it was colored with several patches of dried blood.
Rocky chuffs quietly to himself, shuffling slowly along the stone paths. The heat of the rocks is comforting, moreso than the blinding sunlight was. Pausing, the greyscale peers for a moment before leaving the path, heading to join the silverscale under the tree. "Ssssaaa, Peace Unto Your Nest."
There's a gnomish conspiracy brewing in the long shadows cast by the hospital walls. Jinks sits cross-legged joined by a pair of young gnome patients smuggled from their recovery ward, their gowns and dressings a dead giveaway. They lean over the pilfered lid of a crate hosting a serious of multi-sided dice and take turns rolling and whispering back and forth. Occasionally Jinks leans back and looks around, splitting his time between gamesmaster and lookout duty.
Merek will be about, coming by with a small pack with him, taking the time to look about. He wears dark attire with that longcoat which he often keeps with him. The man takes the time to walk to Seyardu and nods a bit, looking to Rocky and nodding to him. The man seems to be waiting for the woman, while it looks like he brought something with him for the sith'makar.
There are others who prefer the hour more than the blinding sunlight. One such rounds the corner, mostly monochrome attire blending with the mixed contrasts of evening dim and local illumination. Save for her scales, which are a bright carnation pink. An average sith-ma-No-
It is, in fact, a somewhat shorter mul'niessa, who appears to be wearing a quite small scaled one that is the sole purveyor of bright color between the pair. Not quite a stole, not completely a hat, the reptilian has one set of claws hooked into Aya's braid whilst the other holds a handful of candied meat morsels.
The gray sith sitting down next to her made Seyardu open her eyes and jump just a touch, a hand picking up the stone talisman in her lap, quickly pulling it over their neck and slipping it beneath their clothing.
"Ah, peace on your nest, Rocky. This one was not expecting to run into you here." She greets, tapping their tail against the tree trunk. She turns to see Merek approaching, and she offers him a wave as well. "And peace on your nest, Merek. I hope to find you well today. Were you able to do any fishing?" She asks the man.
The silverscale turns to the others coming, recognizing the mul'niessa somewhat, and certainly the kobold on her head, and she offers them a wave, as well.
Rocky thumps his tail agains the groundm dipping his muzzle. "This One did not mean to interupt. Appoligies." He does raise a hand in greeting to the Carnation Carrnage Czar, Little Fang.
The gnome girl has long, curly brown hair streaked with a verdant green and looks to be approaching adolescence. Her right-hand is wrapped in clean bandages and she clutches a stuffed woolen badger in the crook of her elbow. The boy is close to adulthood and his scalp is shaved and talced, he scratches at it occasionally. Both seem to be having fun so clearly the city is in grave danger.
Jinks mutters instruction and the girl rolls with her good hand, pausing briefly before she lets out a giggling cheer and immediately draws a hushing hiss from the scheme's ringmaster. The minstrel holds a finger to his lips and leans back, craning his head to look this way and that before returning to the game.
"Peasssss." Little Fang says, waving a claw full of bacon. She also holds onto Tia Ay-ays' head with that hand, ensuring her hair is properly greased. So far, the Mul'niessa does not steer as well as Ssassa.
And then she spots him! There is an unmistakable hiss from the carnation-scale, and her focus is on Jinks.
Merek will offer that pack to Seyardu, if she opens that, it will be the sleeves which look made in a nice black tone with the silver moon, he smiles, "I made it at your request," the man notes, then he waves to Little Fang and the others, Aya, Rocky, Jinks, "Great to see ya all."
"It is alright, Rocky. This one is happy to ssee you regardless, just not expecting for you to be nearby suddenly. You are quite stealthy when you wish to be." Seyardu replies, chuckling just a bit. And she turns to Merek again, Giving them a smile as she accepts the package, setting this in her lap instead. opening them. "These are the sleeves? I did not expect you to finish them so quickly, I hope that it was not a bother, or interrupt more important matters. But regardless, thank you, Merek. They work the same as Cryosanthia's I am assuming? It should be fine for me to work."
"Peace, Little fang, it is good to see you." She replies to Lily. "You are here with Aya today? It is a pleasant time to explore the gardens, for certain."
"Peace on your - nests." To Aya's credit, there is no pause at the lubrication of her hair; only a mental note made to wash it thoroughly before she ventures outside the walls again. The interruption in her greeting comes after the hissing, and her eyes swivel sharply upwards and then towards the gnomis fellow. "Is all well, this evening?"
Rocky chuffs and nods. "This One is well, and pleased to hear all is well with others."
"Peasss on your nesssss." Little Fang replies to Seyardu, waving. Rocky also gets a wave. Then it is back to suspiciously staring at the suspicious gnome, staring at the badger game he is directing. She drapes herself all over Tia Ay-ays' head some more.
The soft crunch of gravel and the glow of a lantern from around the corner of the hospital has the three gnomes turned to statues. Jinks moves quickly, tossing a pair of small sacks to the two children and reminding, "In through the window like I showed you, help her. Don't share with the gobber children." And like a crack team of ne'er-do-wells the boy stands and helps the girl to her feet before they both take the pouches offered by Jinks. Then they scamper off, ducking low and playing at infiltration as they stick close to the hospital wall.
By the time the lantern glow comes full around the corner and a matronly woman in the simple grey-and-blue robes steps into view, Jinks has scooped up the dice and whistles innocently as he walks towards the loose collection of familiar faces. The woman lingers, lifting the lantern high as she searches for the mischief she can feel in her bones, but it's not long before she resolves to turn back and check on her wards inside.
"Beautiful night," Jinks greets the rest, a remarkable smugness in his smile.
Jinks makes a point to waggle his eyebrows suspiciously for the small lizard, happy to indulge her paranoia.
Merek watches Jinks and Lily, curious to see what the two will do, while he smiles at Seyardu, "Ah, not at all really. This is part of my job, you know. I'm glad you like it, and it will likely work the same, though it's uniquely made for you. Like all of the things I make. It's unique."
Rocky knows it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you. Or in this case, there really is a Gnomish Conspiracy. And McDonalds icecream machines really are broken more often. Either way, the greyscale keeps an eye on the smallish pair eyeing each other.
"This one would be lying if they said everything is well." Seyardu admits as she slid the sleeve on over her arms, growing a bit sad to those who would notice. "But things are alright, for now. And this one has been looking forward to trying these sleeves out again. It will make things much easier."
"You are sneaking people out to play games? I can think of worse things, as long as it does not interfere with their treatment." She asks, looking over to where the gnome was.
They pause, closing their eyes and thinking for a moment. Their clothes change little, but now around their neck was a long scarf. Rocky would recognize the color. It was the exact bright red of the innards of an Am'shere melon.
Little Fang holds onto an Aya ear, turning it so she can hear the gnome waggle his eyebrows. Can Tia Ay-ays hear that well? She suspects so. Those ears are huge! Also, soft, warm. She squeezes the shadow-elf's ear.
Any Sith'makar observing her would easily sense she suspects Jinks is up to something. And, possibly anyone else observing her.
"I understand, and thank you again, I will treasure these." Seyardu nods to Merek. "They feel quite comfortable, though the shape and what is present can change. I can appreciate the work that went into them, it is like what you might refer to as a work of art."
Aya's hearing is now even more acute, due to independent actuation. Via acute kobold? She dips her chin in a slight nod. "Yes. They are up to no good, but you need not worry. It is when they don't seem to be scheming that all should worry."
The pinkscale hisses, "Sssaaaa," at Aunty-Nemesis' wisdom, and shifts her weight to the other shoulder. Her tail curls around under her right arm.
A little lizardly facehugger. Appropriate.
"They sneak themselves out," Jinks corrects Seyardu with a laugh. "I merely provide means and incentive. They get to stop just being sick for awhile and have some fun. People have to look out for each other; there aren't so many of us in Alexandria." And by People he means gnomes, obviously.
"And you, little lizard, how is the world from so high up? Do you want to learn a dice game?" His newest glittering accessory is a cane with a ruby head and spiraling silver collar, his lifts it to point at Lily. "I won't even take your money while you learn."
Rocky chuffs, somewhere between alarm and disgust. "Dice games to younglings?!" to be fair, the few dice games Rocky's been introduced to likely aren't kid friendly.
Merek will chuckle a little, laughing with Aya, watching as Jinks does his own thing. He addresses Seyardu, "Of course, I'm pretty glad you like that!"
"I will acknowledge the benefit of positive experiences upon the recovery process. Just know that there is a reason if they are being prevented. You can always ask if you can take you out, I am sure the physicians would not mind." Seyardu suggests. "Though I would suggest against teaching Lily games of chance, I doubt that Cryosanthia would approve. And I cannot say that I do, either. You say while learning, which implies seeking to take money in the future."
Convinced that her shadow-aunt knows best, Little Fang relaxes a little, sitting more fully on her shoulders, although her tail remains hooked in a clutching position. She looks around, mostly at Rocky and Seyardu, other lizard-folk likely make her feel at home.
After a while she hisses at Aya, "Why blue not likesss you?"
"I suppose I did phrase it that way..." Jinks considers that fact as if it'd slipped by unnoticed and his smile fades a fraction. "Points well made, all of them," he concedes to Seyardu with a nod (though he avoids any agreements to using proper channels when visiting the hospital). "What games do Sith children play, then? I'll admit I'm unaware and now you have me curious."
"While I think it'd be a little bit funny, I do believe that Cryosanthia is trying to make her not greedy," Merek says, "Granted, betting it all and losing it. I don't know. Anyhow Seyardu, you are limited with that by imagination only, anything you can think of, you can make."
"I agree that you should not play games of dice," Aya concurs with the others, though her eyes are upward as she speaks to Lily, "unless you wish to lose all of your bacon as prizes to others. As for blue," she offers to inquiry, "he has his reasons to dislike."
Rocky chuffs thoughtfully, and considers. "Hide Run Seek, Climb the Parent, Going To The Empress, Spot the Songbird." The translations aren't great, but the games are fairly universal.
"Ok." Little Fang says, taking the advice and the answer at the same time. It seems sufficient for her, even if there wasn't much of an answer. Finaly she says, "Sshow backsstabss?"
Seyardu says, "Well, I am a bit more limited than most, it is true." The sith-makar notes, chuckling a bit. "Colors are limited to what I have seen, which is not too much. But yes, gambling is not ideal. The scarf is colored, yes?"
She thinks for a moment, nodding along at Rocky's suggestions. She recognizes many of them, or what Rocky was attempting to translates. "Yes, there are many games, which teach much. There is much wrestling too, which this one was rarely the winner at, given my size. Though on ocassion, it did work out alright.""
"Ya, it's a nice and bright red, Seyardu," Merek will note to the woman, nodding a bit. The man smiles.
Little Fang gets into it, "Buried alive! Dodge gnome head! Steal the eggs." Some of her game-names sound a little too literal.
"'Climb the parent.'" Jinks echoes, glancing up again at Aya's predicament. "That does seem to hold a certainly popularity among scalekind. I genuinely cannot imagine my mother's face had I attempted such a feat, however." He muses, frowning, "Not that she exactly approved of the gambling, either..." A laugh shatters his mild frown and he's all smiles again. "I will have to say I'm not entirely fond of 'dodge gnome head.'"
Rocky blinks at Little Fang before looking to Jinks. "This One has not played that game. Is maybe local?"
"This one knows little about Kobold games, though they sound nice. I am assuming there are not literal gnome heads involved. But you do your part to spur the rivalry, yourself." Seyardu notes, chuckling just a bit. It is alright, Jinks, gambling is not bad in moderation. As long as everyone is able to leave at the end of the day feeling alright."
Again, The sith-makar closed her eyes, and the clothes she was wearing shifted, leaving her bag, and hammer. Instead, this time back in more traditional Am'shere leathers. This time, seeking a proper color for the material color may surprise Rocky, as it was the same color of the massive Dinosaur he had encountered so many years ago.
Taking in the night air for... reasons, a woman shrouded in a dark green cloak makes her way to the garden. Travelling light in a sort of backhanded method of travelling incognito, Brae is bereft of her scythe at the moment, her eyes darting about in a steady sweep. She had an idea where to look, but the familiar voices sounding off help steer the Korite along that way. She doesn't quite chime in until she's about two mana lamps from the group, breaking her silence with a casual, "'ey, luvs, how ya doin'?"
Merek waves, "Good to see ya," he smiles at Braelnoir. "I am just making sure that Sey will get the gift that I made, well."
Rocky peers a few moments at the color changed leathers, the specific shade familiar, but taking a few moments to place. "Saaa, is good color. Fierce."
"Tias Brayysss." A small and high pitched hissy voice calls. It's Lily, riding on Aya's shoulders, who is exemplifying the silently lurking shadow-elf by silently lurking. She gives Braelnoir a welcoming glare. Such warmth. Lily continues, pointing with a small claw full of candy meat at the merc, "names gamesss."
Hearing Rocky's comment, she looks over at Seyardu and hisses affirmation.
"Noooooo, no, no, no." Jinks waves a hand at Seyardu, his many rings glittering when the starlight finds them. "Everyone should understand the stakes coming in but the whole point is not always leaving and feeling alright." The gnome is passionate about his gambling and his eyes take on a manic energy as he explains. "Crushing defeat is the other side of thrilling victory. Going without for days only to gorge. Winning an idiot Mulrian Lucht's prized walking cane so he has to limp off into the night and pray to his slighted goddess." It's probably a good thing he's not showing the little lizard how to gamble after all.
"The enchantment makes for handsome garb," the gnome adds after he's taken a breath.
"It is correct? Yes, that is good!" The silverscale nods, pleased it was working again. "There was strength, in their appearance." She listens to Jinks and his explanation, but she shakes her head, looking unconvinced. "That sounds good, until one loses again and again, and does not win. Such disappointments would compound upon themselves quickly."
The reply of the woman makes Seyardu look over, and she gives them a smile and a wave. "Peace on your nest, Braelnoir. It is good to see you. This one is doing, alright. Merek found me to deliver the sleeves I asked him to make. I have been testing them out."
Rocky nods in agreement to Jink, much as he might be loath to do just now. "Victory without risk of defeat is nothing."
Braelnoir nods, momentarily uncertain as she answers Merek, "Hey, Mer." she says softly, giving him a sort of once over, as of looking for signs of... something, then "Been ok?" There's a glance to Seyardu, a little smile and a nod, "Looks good on you."
Then, "Rock, whatcha been upto?" she asks, then grins to Lily, "Hey Lily, namin' games, huh? Got any good ones so far?"
She eyes the gnome as he makes his stance known on excess and she gives a sort of conceding nod with a grin, "Anythin' worth doin's worth overdoin', huh?"
Merek nods meaningfully towards Braelnoir, "Well enough. You know, turning into an angel, fighting ancient demons, things like that." Completely deadpan. "The gardens are, nicely calm."
Perhaps too calm.
The carnationscale nods vigorously. Sitting on Aya's shoulders, she's cinched in tightly so she won't go anywhere and wrapped around her head. This puts her mouth very close to the Mul'niessa's ears. Her little claw hands are always in view.
So there is no doubt when Lily points at Jinks and says, very ominously, "Backssstabbb!"
Wink. Wink. They're there. They're gone. They're behind Jinks, and the small trickster feels a fingerpoke in his back as Aya leans and whispers from behind him, "it does a lot of damage... and it's fun." Poke-poke.
"There are scales of victory and defeat however, especially with something which should be more leisurely." Seyardu sighs. "Thank you, most here do not think so. This on ceased, the looks grew tiring going through the streets. "
She blinks, and chuckles. "It seems Lily has found the better of you, Jinks. You should keep an eye on your surroundings."
"Masquerade's nethers!" Jinks exclaims, suddenly in the air as tall as the soft-skinned tallmen. He lands and dances away, clutching at his chest and brandishing the cane by the ruby head. "Haaaa." He winces, losing his footing and falling to his rump in the grass. "Oh I can hear them calling me back," he winces, thumping at his chest in an attempt to find a proper rhythm. You paged Jinks with 'Ah. Just Down the Road. Right down the road. Bybye!'
There is a hissy sniggering from the pinkscale youngling. Success! Aya, the mount, nods sagely.
Rocky doesn't laugh. That would be rude. He does wheeze a little.
The chuckling does die down once the Gnome seems genuinely hurt by the action, or pretending to be. She seems to err on the side of acting. "Jinks, are you alright? If you need anything, please let me know." They call out, still concerned enough to check. Braelnoir smirks a bit at the antics in play, then looks to Seyardu, "It'll come with practice, luv 'as all." She shrugs a bit and looks to Merek, considering things and, "Seems most everybody turnin' inta somethin, nowadays."
"A corpse," Jinks agrees with Baelnoir, forcing his breathing to slow. He waves off Seyardu's offer of aid. "'Let's not teach the child a dice game that could lead to bad habits.' Coyote laughs," he sighs.
"I am still myself." Seyardu notes as she slides back down the tree, and sighs. "Some expressions and actions are still lost on me sometimes."
A pause, and Seyardu looks to Braelnoir, and to Rocky. "This one does not wish to bring down the mood, but has questions meaning to be asked. You are Cryosanthia's clutch brother, correct?"
The pink youngling watches as the Silverscale offers to help the gnome, then moves onto other questions. She watches Braelnoir, who is definitely a taller parent to climb, at least parent-substitute.
Aya, the perch, looks up at the merc, "I sense a desire to change accommodations, to move from grey to silver. Are you ready to be the aunt?"
Lily rises up on Aya's shoulders, ready to pounce.
Merek says, "I would like it if the weather was a little cool and rainy, it's been... I don't like the summer."
"Summer's n'so bad." Brae notes, "Campaigns went a lot better in th'summer'n winter."
She looks to Aya and nods, turning her off hand side that way and extending her unsharpened gauntlet to her niece, "C'mere, luv!"
She smirks a little and glances at Seyardu, "Give't time. Some changes'r inside, luv."
Rocky blinks to Seyardu, and nods. "Saa, This One and Little Sister were of one clutch."
Jinks finds his feet again and takes a moment to dust the grass from his bottoms. "One day," he gives the pink lizard child a pointing but offers a genial enough smile to the rest. "If you ever have an itch to learn game; Bounder and Golem are both quite simple to pick up." He tapes the ruby at the top of the cane against a silver piercing in his brow with a 'tk' and then begins to hum as he begins heading westwards.
"This one is used to the weather, it is not unlike back home, at the hotter months. Though, I am curious, the most about what the winter will be like. It is curious, but I look forward to seeing it."
Seyardu looks down to her clothes, to herself, and sighs, looking back up to Braelnoir. "I have changed much in my short time here, yet I do not know how much for the better."
Again, she falls silent, looking back to Rocky.
"How did you, deal with it? This one is sorry if that is too personal to ask. Deal with the time apart, and the return, after everything that happened."
Seyardu says, "Peace on your nest, Jinks." She says, waving to the gnome. "Do try not to win too much at gambling, should you cause injury for others missing important aids.""
Leaping Lizard! Lily flies off Aya's head towards Braelnoir, launching without stepping on her too much. Her claws avoid her face. It's not so much that they are large, but that they are sharp. Impossibly sharp, much like a kitten's, and often as deadly.
She lands on the mercenary's arm without much fuss and walks up the limb like a tree-limb, alternating hands and feet until she's sitting on her shoulders.
In that moment of distraction, Aya vanishes, as she is wont to do.
She gives Jinks a departing hisss. She has her eye on him. After which, she focuses on Rocky and flicks her tongue out, tasting the air in his direction.
Baby fingernails, baby claws, little monomolecular slashing machines.
Braelnoir takes the little kobold's weight without much issue, though there are some tiny scrapings of bare skin glittering in her wake. She upnods off toward the departing gnome, "Seeya 'round, luvvie!"
Seyardu's query to Rocky brings a sort of thoughtful air to the Korite and she lifts a hand to scratch at the pink scales a moment.
Rocky falls still, for several long moments. "This One is unsure the question. This One was not left alone, This One was beside the Great River of Time. Dead. For many years."
Merek says, "I am going to meditate."
"Peace on your nest, Merek. Meditation is good, for collecting your thoughts." Seyardu replies, seeming bothered by the answer before from the other Sith-makar, but she wanted to wave off the man. "Thank you again for the sleeves, I think I will get much use out of them."
Though after, she sighs, looking and seeming sad. "Ah, this one understands, Rocky, and is sorry to hear that. So you were not there when Cryosanthia returned then? This one was hoping for advice, even if it may not be necessary. And just, some manner of perspective."
That word catches Lily's attention, 'Dead'. Her small head whips around and she stares at Rocky. He doesn't seem dead. He's always been around, as long as she can remember. Of course, that's not been that long.
Rocky shakes his head. "It was This One who returned, after Little Sister's ordeal. This One was not there to be her shield. But perhaps is for the best. Were others shielded instead." A glance to the Little Fang, and a solom nod. "For many years This One was gone. Little Sister called back from the lands of the Grey Dragon."
A thoughtful sigh and she nods, "'kay, Mer. Hope it help..." Brae then looks between the Sith for a few moments, there's a brief spike of yearning before she tamps it down, then, she glances up as she feels Lilly suddenly shift, "Yeah... I's only around so much then... I couldn't help'r either."
"This one does not know what that is like, to go through. But this one is glad you are back here. There are still others you may yet help. Not to mention being there for her. This one cannot speak for her, but believes she would appreciate your presence." She replies, thumping their tail against the tree again. Still with the sadness buried beneath now, at least. "This one may need to speak to Cryosanthia, then. There have been things on my mind, that recent events have brought to light."
She looks up to Braelnoir, and smiles. "That is alright, I am thinking of my own presence, of being around. Perhaps wishful thinking. If you will be with Lily for a while, I may go seek her out, if she is at Mithralla Merchandise."
Merek watches the world like a sentinel, his thoughts on other things, far away from the place. "I know a woman on the other side, she's pretty nice. A psychopomp, she guides those that enter that world. If I can, I'll make sure that she's the one to meet my friends. Though, that hopefully will be a long way away. I'm glad you are all doing alright generally. You know, I've walked in the Halls, I've seen what it's like. And I remember what it's like, while others don't, I went there... In a way, that was direct."
His meditations are very short.
"Tia Faranssss." Lily says suddenly, looking at the silverscale, "Assssk Tia Faranssss."
She was following along, at least until the explanations got complex and more than a few words. Lily is much closer to Rocky's wavelength. She bobs her head, "Ssassa is there. Sso iss blue."
Rocky chuffs quietly, and nods to Merek. "This One remembers some. Perhaps it is different for The People. This One recalls a river, where the events of time flowed past."
That! Lily understood that reference.
"That is good, people should be attended to, though ideally not due to being cut short." Seyardu nods, and smiles again to Merek. Then, she falls silent. As if a thought passes her mind. " Tia Farans, Faranmidha? Or someone else?" She asks the small Kobold. "There are magics, for speaking to those on the other side. This one is curious. What would happen if the spell were to fail?"
Braelnoir still has that thoughtful look, but she smiles to Seyardu, a slightly forced, brittle thing, but, "Can walk ya up thattaway, luv."
She sighs slowly and shakes her head, "T gotta meet this Fran person one'a these days." She looks to Rocky as he muses about the times beyond, with extra spicing from Merek, and her hand brushes at her earring. Seyardu's query about reaching past the veil causes her chin to dip some and she completely ignores the aching pressure in her teeth.
"Seyardu, It's a possibility that it would mean little, and contact nothing. Then, there is the possibility it would contact another realm plane." Merek says, pausing a moment to gather his thoughts. He continues, "Though, I have powers that can reach pretty far along the veil. Considering that I've attained 8th Circle in Divine and Arcane magic."
"Faransssmannisssmanans...." Little Fang attempts, her tradespeech mangling the name. She is attentive, and then she's seemingly asked another question, which she doesn't understand. Something about speaking to her dead parents, which she can't, because the spell fails.
The pink youngling makes a worried nose, a sort of 'yarp' with a hoot, followed by a very low throat rattle that Braelnoir feels more than hears as the pinkscale presses against the back of her neck.
The merc is not the only one disturbed in that corner.
Rocky falls still for several moments, considering. "This One knows not of magic. But think matters much why spell fails. Maybe is cast bad. Maybe one by River does not want to talk, or is kept from it. This One was by peaceful riverside. But River is big, is often not peaceful."
"Ah, apologies! This one is sorry, did not wish to cause distress with my musings." The silverscale speaks up quickly, shaking, and finally bowing her head for a long moment. "It is not business that should be spoken of lightly, and again, I apologize. This one is not the only one who has been through much, yes. This one is just, thinking of matters. If you still would, Braelnoir, I would appreciate it if you could show me to the place. You do not need to smile for my sake. It will hurt your jaw unnecessarily."

- "...mebbe they're fightin'...." Brae murmurs through her teeth. Lily's vocalizations bring the merc's arm up to curl around her shoulders, "Want to go, LIttle Fang?" she queries through a surprisingly natural, if archaic <Draconic>
She looks to Seya and nods, "Yeah, yeah, ah... sure, we can go." She leaves the rest unmused upon, at least out loud.
"See ya later, boys, take care now, here?"
"Yessss." Little Fang presses against Braelnoir's arm, her anxious rattling continues. She remembers her manners, for family and turns her head towards River Stone, "Peasssse on your nessst."
She grunts at Seyardu, a short 'ssa' kindd of sound to indicate she heard, but still looks away. She doesn't want to face that question. She avoids looking at Merek altogether.
His harmonica, is wonderful. The things he talks about...
"Not fightingsss..." She tells Braelnoir, enigmatically. <draconic>
Merek notices Lily's sudden desire to be on her way. "You take care, and peace on your nest. May you find treasure in all you do!" He looks away, "Seyardu, What are you thinking about making with your sleeves? I am interested. I like to make things for any occasion. Brae, It is good to see ya about. Rocky, It is good to see ya about as well."
He will try to talk of nicer things.
Finally, Seyardu stands up, looking more than a bit bothered by her own speech. It was much easier to not think of things, she understood that well. "Thank you, Lily, Braelnoir." She says, followed by a sigh before she turns to Rocky and Merek. "Thank you both for the company, and again for the sleeves. I will think of something more to do with them in time. This one will need to think more about what clothing to do with them, but will think of more options."
Brae gives the little one a gentle squeeze, then, "No, yer right, sweetie." she croons softly.
She looks to Seyardu and Rocky, then raises her other hand to wave toward Merek with a, "See you soon, brother." <Merctalk>
That said, she starts on her way.
With a stretch, Seyardu walked closer to Braelnoir. She reached out to pat the Kobold on the head, but decided against it before they began to walk away. She turns for a moment to give Merek and Rocky a wave, before she was on her way. She needed to be more mindful of her feelings. If she could not keep them in control and bothers others around her due to them, how could she help anyone?"
