The common room of the Fernwood Pub dominates the inn, spacious and airy because of the high, vaulted ceiling. Ornately carved beams of dark, polished wood form a lattice overhead, supporting the arched roof two storeys above the floor. To the right of the double-door entry is a spiral staircase, winding upwards to a balcony that rings and overlooks the main area. Large windows at this level grant an excellent view of the river to the west and colorful market stalls to the north and east. An air of coziness is salvaged by keeping the pub dimly lit; parchment-shrouded mana lanterns hang at intervals from the base of the balcony, nestled amongst lush, magically propagated ivy and ferns that grow over this false demi-ceiling and the struts that support it.

The bar is sleek and simple, comprised of meticulously polished black lacquer. Tables are set under the darker niches formed by the balcony floor as well as on the balcony itself. A few are deliberately sized to accommodate halflings and gnomes, but the majority are meant for human-sized individuals. A large common table is on the main floor, set before a semi-circular stage situated against the western wall. Beside it, with pipes mounted upon the wall and running up past the balcony and almost to the ceiling, is a refurbished pipe organ made to look like the one lost when the Fernwood was destroyed during the Merkabah Siege.

Selia sits upon the bar proper, a bit of pie to one side, a mug to the other, and a pack of khazad before her. Sadly, though laughing and clearly enjoying themselves, the greater part of the group is getting up and heading for the door. Fun as it might be, the night shift starts soon, and they'd best be off to their jobs. "Alright lads, be seeing yas. Remind me next time ta tell ya da story ov da Pink Dragon. Reckon you'll like dat one to!"

Corra makes her way into the pub and glances around a little before she heads over to a table by the hearth. She pulls her bow off and leaves it on the table next to her. She glances around, watching the khazad leave.

Selia mmms and lies back on the bar for a moment, stretching, before sitting up again. Downing the dregs of her ale, the half-sized dancer takes up her pie, nibbeling idly as she walks down the barstools, using cushions like stepping stones. Not really proper behavior, but no one else is useing them just now, and not like -she- was the one who built the floor so far down.

Corra looks over at the one and then dips her head to Selia and smiles a bit, "Hello." she says for a moment.

Selia smiles and waves, pondering a moment before leaving her plate on the bartop. There's little more than crust and a few smears left anyhow. Eyeing the distance, Sleia tsks mildly and hops down off her stool, heading over to Corra's table and helping herself to a chair. "Hello yerself. What you up to?"

Corra shrugs a bit and smiles, "Just came in for a little to eat, a little to drink, and some warmth, maybe some singing." She looks over at her, "And yourself?"

Selia hehs. "Mostly the same. Though ain't much a singer. More a story teller. Still, food's good. They got fresh berry pie. Pie's fresh that is, berries ain't. Not this time o' year. But still good."

Corra nods, "I don't tell stories well, I can sing pretty good." SHe shakes her head a bit and then shrugs.

Selia grins. "Maybe ya ain't doing it right? Most songs be stories. Good lot of 'em anyways. Just sing with a really simple voice without music, and it's story telling, right?"

Corra cocks her head to the side and then smiles and nods, "Maybe, I like doing it singing though, easier way to tell my tales." she smiles, "I am Corra."

Selia smiles back. "Selia. Selia Shadowkin." The Lucht ponders a moment, glances around, and places her hand firmly on the table top. Raising it up just a little, a vauge shadowy shape of inky darkness wiggles under her palm. "Issa. She's nice, but dey don't like me bringin' 'er in 'ere. Least ways, nay showin 'er off."

Corra nods, "A pleasure." she says and shakes her head, "I don't have any friends or something that anyone would object to me bringing in."

Selia hehs, the Shadow disappearing as rapidly as it came. Though given the lighting in here, it's likely still around. "Maybe ya just need ta get out more? Anyways, important bit is having friends and wot ya think of 'em, nay what others think."

Corra nods, "I might at that." she says and shakes her head, "I do have my horse."

Selia pfts, then ponders a moment. "Most horse ain't worth spit. But reckon a few are. Still, prefer walkin for meself."

Corra smiles, "my people raise horses, my mother's tribe are horse nomads."

Selia shrugs mildly. "Never knew but mum and da. And they're gone now. Anyways, never met a horse could climb proper. Fast on the plains, aye, but don't like all that open."

Corra nods her head, "Aye, well they make ponies too." she shakes her head a bit. She smiles and shrugs, "Horses are in my blood, I am Phuri Dae."

Selia blinks, snerks, and chuckles a bit. "Know what ya mean, but reckon only one way ta proper get horse blood in ya. Eww."

Corra cocks her head to the side, and then chuckles just a little bit.

Selia ponders a few moments. "Met folks claim blood of dragons. Some, celestials. Met a demon blood wit glowing eyes. Dwarfs wit iron blood, dran with ancestors of stone. Nuff ta wonder if be any folks with plain old mortal blood left."

Corra smiles and nods her head, "Makes some wonder, doesn't it?"

Selia nods, and snorts in amusement. "Reckon gotta suck fer some kids. Parents come from different sets, gotta make a choice. Or maybe find a new path. Ain't sure how dat sorta thing works."

Corra nods and shrugs, "Or they just get random selection, like I am more Phurai Dae though my dad was Tsuran." she shakes her head, "Things like that."

Selia ponders a few moments. "Reckon matters less than it might. What yer born with may give ya a direction to start in life, but ya always turn 'round and go the other way, iffen ya want."

Corra chuckles a bit, "Yeah, well sometimes." she does get herself something to eat and drink.

Selia mmms pondering a long moment. "Nay sometimes. Always. Never too late to change. Maybe too late for it to be easy. Always too late to undo what ya did. But never too late to start trying something else. Reckon iffen folks learned that better, have less villians out there."
