- Summary: Cryosanthia and Elleandra go shopping for a dress for Elly's wedding. The Wild Elf is using her friend's colouration as inspiration, so Cryo's aesthetic sense can be applied fully. Patterns, decorations and potential jewelry are discussed. Cryo observes that it's been a long time since she's owned more than she's carrying and the idea of getting a dress for one day is unusual to her. Elly explains she'd like something that lasts, then asks the sith's opinion on motherhood. Mikilos arrives while Cryo is talking about eggs, then Garrett also appears, in disguise and criticizes Cryosanthia for having morals and fails to notice she's decades older than the last time he saw her. Kira is shopping outside, having picked up a fashionable eye-patch for her missing eye, and the group eventually stumbles into each other, and concentrates on determining the type of woman who might save Mikilos from his Fae Queen fascination, as he has so far been involved with three of them.

The city is divided, unofficially, into Upper Alexandria and Lower Alexandria. The Upper resides further up on the slope of the mountain, and rests to the east of the great river. The Lower resides to the west of it, and if the Lower could be said to have a heart, this verdant park might be its center.
Amid all the bustle of the Lower City, its Gardens District provides a peaceful respite. The warmth of Althea holds sway here, and though Daeus receives the occasional nod, this is clearly Her domain. She shares it with Dana, in the verdant green of this area. Vines and trees, remain green no matter the season and numerous flowers bloom along the park's walkways. Faerie-light lanterns hang from branches and along hedgerows.
A number of shops may be found here, most notably the city hospital, for which the park was originally built. Though now open to the public, the gardens by and large, remain underneath the hospital's care. However, in the Althean tradition, much of the work is provided by volunteers.

With the plague no longer on her mind, Elleandra feels this sudden urgency to see to the most important matters in her life. After some brief discussion (and kissing), Kamaria leaves to see to her own preparations. She hugs Cryosanthia tightly, "I must get myself ready. She's not supposed to see my dress, in any case, and she will need some help picking out one that suits her. I trust you will be able to help?" With a delighted giggle, Kamaria rushes off.
Elleandra watches her go with a sigh. But she's happy. She's not remembered happiness like this, except when Kamaria was first returned to her. "You've given me my life back, Cryosanthia. I can never repay you. But I hope I can share the joy with you. And maybe get some advice. I need to look my very best."
"Of course, yes." Cryosanthia nods to Kamaria, smiling as the half-sil scampers off. She turns to look at Elleandra, "Of course! Anything! This one is not sure you would appreciate my fashion sense though, I favour mostly white things, and I think my eyes see colours differently than yours."
"This one is curious, why buy a dress when your AnyGarment sleeves could make them? Or are you shopping for ideas to imagine?"
Elleandra laughs gently and says to Cryosanthia, "I think white or silver would be perfect. I want to show my gratitude and devotion to Eluna in what I wear." If allowed, she will take hold of her friend's hand. "And you know, I thought on it, but.. I want the dress to keep forever and stay as it is-a real thing made with the labor of a craftsman. I also want to have others help get me ready for the ceremony, just as they helped me have this joy to begin with. It is perhaps vanity, but.. I hope I can be forgiven that on this occasion."
"Silver! Yes, I can do silver! Imagine something white and make it shiny, yes." Cryosanthia seems pleased with this artistic suggestion. Her tail curls contemplatively behind her, hand squeezed firmly and just a little coldly. She nods, "I can see the sentiment. It's been a long while since I've had more possessions than I'm wearing. I would need a place to keep things. Clothing for the people are not a priority, they don't store well in Am'shere. Having others involved and imployed, that is a good wish. I think it's worth it. I have an Adventurer's mindset still."
"So are you thinking something form-fitting and tight, or with fancy layers and panels?"
"The top, I would like to be more form fitting, but with a long train behind it. Oh, and I would like to leave my back exposed. Kamaria loves my back, she likes to touch it with.." Elleandra trails off, blushing brightly. "That is.. I mean.. during the ceremony, I would wear a white mantle. For modesty. Oh, I do want some blues in it, as well. Maybe jewelry. Althea is dear to me, as well. It is her blessing that is going to give us the miracle of a child." She cannot help but keep blushing. "And I can understand the adventurer's mindset. I'm not entirely sure where we will end up living. Probably out at Wilderness Pointe, though. It gives us the best of both worlds."
The dress colors are basically to Cryo's liking. Silvery white, almost bordering on blue, similar to white dragon scales, of the very young or old.
Cryosanthia observes Elleandra carefully, nodding. She purses her lips thoughtfully, "Would you want something to reflect your Wild Elf and Druidic heritage? The headpiece flowery in a certain way? Faran would want something with spiders, and I suspect Egalrin would wears nests as well. So, not those, but the idea that fits with the mantle. A wreath? A bare back is fine!"
She moves around to examine Elly from the rear, "A train would be magnificent. So unfortunate you don't have a tail. It is fun to take up some much space and flap the fabric around. Some layers perhaps, widening your hips if you're covering your legs completely?"
"You know, I honestly hadn't considered how to represent the natural in my dress," confesses Elly. "Perhaps I will add a touch of the elements to it. Maybe I can do something with earrings? Or with a headpiece, like you suggest. I do not plan to wear a veil, though I imagine Kamaria will."
Turning to look behind herself as well as she can, Elleandra laughs suddenly. "I imagine having a tail would be handy with such a dress, though I'd probably just trip all over myself if I were to temporarily have one." She considers for a moment, stopping at a shop window, where a green dress is on display. "I'd like to go inside and take a look. Oh, and after the ceremony, I'd like to fasten the train to the bustle. That way I can dance without changing clothes. Widening the hips is a good idea. I want it to blow Kamaria away, after all. So she cannot notice anyone but me."
Cryosanthia laughs, "I shall have a back to my clothing then, with a bigger spell or a strong dance, my back scales a-light." The lizard turns her head, staring at the green dress, then nods.
"Being able to tuck it up, sounds good. Silver earrings, are an excellent idea. My robes are mostly blank, with a few pieces of trim and pattern panels so they aren't busy. Oh! This one knows."
Cryo concentrates for a second. The patterns on her clothes are down her sides, armpits to waist, inside the high collar and a wide lapel. Normally hers are snowflakes and little dragoneyes, her arcane mark and her mistress', mixed together. They switch, now showing the phases of the moon, starting as a sliver and working to full then waning back to a new moon. It repeats in rows, giving both a banded and strip effect. They're also silvery, if the light catches them right they gleam and reflect, "This? Or too gaudy?"
Elly smiles at her friend, "And you will be ever more beautiful," she says warmly. "I think there something in the lines of you, and in the shade of your scales, that is exquisite." She steps back as Cryosanthia changes her clothing. It inspires her to suggest, "I like this pattern, and perhaps I should not use the mantle after all, as it would cover it, and I can further use the moons as silver jewelry about the small of my back, and another at my neck, with a waterfall down the middle, bound together in a brilliant blue gem."
Getting more excited, Elleandra takes Cryosanthia's hand and leads the way into the shop. The motherly matron of the establishment waves politely, but is otherwise occupied with a pair of women, apparently a mother and a daughter. Free of anyone to observe, Elly and Cryo can slip back to look at other dresses, most of which are white. None of them garner more than a cursory glance. In fact, only when Elleandra has nearly exhausted every option does she see it: a dress made of fabric with a sheen to it, and a shade like blue-ice, high up on some mountain. That it happens to nearly match Cryosanthia's scales is rather immediately obvious. "This.. this is the one," Elleandra murmurs. "Hopefully they can copy the moon pattern in it somehow.."
Cryosanthia smiles widely, her sapphire eyes gleaming, "The colours are beautiful! This one enjoys the way it has a slight sheen. Like polished scales. Your idea of jewelry is excellent as well. I hope they can match the pattern over as well."
Her clothes maintain it, once set the look stays, "Hmm... a slight adjustment to match your height, it will be beautiful." The sith is careful to avoid brushing against the other dresses. She's sharp enough to catch on and tear light fabrics. She's tall enough to be bigger than most, short of a Jotun, that might come into this store and sith don't usually go for fabrics. "You will look stunning. What will you put on your feet? Gloves also?"
Elleandra lets out a rather unbecoming sound of joy. Was that.. a squeal? She hugs Cryosanthia, quite delighted to share this moment with her best friend. She stands next to the dress, rising on her tiptoes, and then falling once more to her feet. "Yes, it's not too far off, is it?" She's hesitant to even touch it. Finally she glides a fingertip along the fabric and sighs, "It's amazing."
The druid hadn't thought of what to wear on her hands or feet. "Maybe I will try shoes with a bit of a heel to them. Not too tall, but it would be nice to wear something like that instead of boots or slippers. And you know, I think I will leave my hands uncovered. I can't imagine going long without touching her hair. Especially after barely being able to be affectionate at all since I got sick."
The whitescale bobs her head slowly, "those both sound excellent, and keeping your hands free works. A wrist decoration? AH! Have you picked out the rings?" The sith grins and shows off the ring she's wearing, over her glove this time, "Something fancier than this, you should find it."
For her part, Cryosanthia doesn't touch the dress. She's wearing gloves, the scales on those or her fingertips are both likely to snag before she feels anything. Even when she's being careful and discrete, her hands suggest dragon claws and at times are. She tilts her head, "Will you be coordinating the attendants dresses as well? Or would we distract from the couple?"
"I think a golden band will suit us well," says Elleandra. "While I want to look beautiful, of course, we are both content with each other. More than content. And your ring is lovely, Cryo." She turns back to the idea of something on her wrist, "I like the idea of wearing something on my wrist. I honestly don't know what it would be, though. Something that matches the colors.. perhaps.. no, I'm not really sure."
She smiles warmly and looks at Cryosanthia, looking her over carefully. "I want you to wear what makes you feel happy, what makes you feel beautiful. Because you are beautiful, and I would rather your heart move what you wear than force you to wear something I select. I truly cannot wait to see you dance."
Cryo smiles at Elly, "I'll think of something, I promise. My wizard robes don't work well for dancing, and the other clothing that comes easily to mind is a cleaning smock which is utterly uninteresting. With these at least, whatever I can imagine, can be."
"On the wrist, perhaps a bracelet of silver, with alternating stones? Or a small chain half-glove that attaches to the middle fingera and small moons on it?"
"They are incredibly convenient, aren't they?" agrees Elleandra. "And while I will have a real wedding dress, I do think I'll use them for the wedding night. Cause I'd die of embarassment trying to buy what I have in mind. Umm, but to your point, the half-glove sounds really interesting. I think I once saw a travelling noble wearing something like that in the east." She laughs, blushing brightly again as she ponders the wedding night, though her words turn more serious. "You know.. I had been meaning to ask you. What do you think it means.. I mean to be a wife? Instead of just a lover. And do you plan on having children right away?"
Mikilos appears in a flash of lightning!
No, seriously. Lightning. Flash. Mikilos.
There's no thunder, so not nearly so dramatic as it might be, and teh elf himself is peering around in mild annoyance. "I knew it. I -knew- it!"
Cryosanthia curls her head a little lower to look at Elleandra, her tail bounces and she shakes her head slightly, "Elly, the sith-makar aren't in season all the time the way softskins appear to be. The cihuaa are the one love, whom we will most likely mate with as well, but the female chooses so sometimes another male steps in as the sire. They tend to drift off, as they were chosen for physical traits, not mental and emotional compatibility. This one plans to lay lots of eggs and hopes some will survive. Our young are quite fragile."
"Ah, oh, hello Mikilos. This one hopes you didn't hear that. Some details were incorrect." Possibly, most.
Elleandra blinks at the flash of light, and then, "Oh wow, it's Mikilos!" She tilts her head, looking back to Cryosanthia, "We'll have to talk more. Or maybe we should both talk to someone who has children. I want advice, cause we're not going to wait at all. I promised Kamaria that after all the time apart, she'd not have to wait again." And then, back to the subject of a suddenly-appearing, really tall Dawn Elf. As if Elly didn't already feel very short.
"So what brings you here, Mikilos? I mean, I did want to talk to you and ask about using your mansion for my wedding, but I don't think I said that aloud." She looks to Cryo, "Did I? The timing is amazing, though. We found the perfect dress already." Using a different kind of magic, the shopkeeper appears, looking at the dress Elleandra has picked and smiling, "Yes, yes, a fine choice, that one.. just stand still a moment dear.." In the middle of the conversation, Elly is measured, poked, and prodded by the woman. "Yes, yes, perfect.. carry on, dears, there's much to talk about before a wedding, isn't there?"
Mikilos blinks, absently nodding in greeting to Cryo and Elle. Manners have been drileld in to be followed even when confused. "What? Incorrect? What? Wedding? Oh. Oh, yes, certainly. I mean, I'll have to double check nothing else is taking place at the same time, but I doubt will be any real issues. Anyway, BrindelBinder offered to teleport me back to my shop... I should have known he didn't know which one is mine. Nice guy, but very absent minded."
"He did accurately hit a shop. Do you know why he picked a wedding dress one for you? We were discussing true loves. This one had hoped you might have been receiving some curious callers, visitors to your shop you don't commonly see?" Cryosanthia smies predatorily over at the tall Dawn elf, her tail swaying slowly from side to side, "You've also not told me anything of your interests and I do so badly when I guess."
"Elleandra is purchasing a dress for her wedding, to Kamaria, it should be soon. You would be a welcome guest."
Elly nods quickly, "Certainly! I would be delighted if you would join." She catches something in Cryo's words that make her grin. "You know, coming alone is certainly okay. Wedding celebrations are amazing for finding romance. The entire mood is set, the guests are relaxed and open, the usual guards against romance are lowered. And of course, there is dancing!"
While she speaks, the shopkeeper comes back out, very carefully takes the dress to the back, and then returns to take some additional measurements. The most surprising being Elly's feet. "I overheard you speaking of shoes. I have just the man for that work!"
Mikilos blinks and peers around again. "Dress shop? What? ...no, I have no idea why he'd even know of this shop." He blinks again, and peers at Cryo. "Wait, callers? Guess? What?" He looks between Elle and Cryo. "I feel I've missed an imporatant segment of the conversation. " The whitescale swishes her tail, lowering her snout, batting eyelids at Mikilos, "The latest Crimson Pen came out, with a story of a stoic, heroic elf sacrificing so much of himself for a woman who would never appreciate him. Accidentally, the name substitutions got lost, and they published yours! I was sure infatuated ladies would be dropping by your shop to see if you were as tall and rich as the story suggested!"
Elleandra giggles in a way that is most unbecoming. "That is a.. really unfortunate accident. I should hope that it doesn't happen too many more times. I wonder, though, if the ladies simply needed more specific direction on where such a tall, handsome man might be found." The druids taps her lip with her right index finger, thinking out loud, "Yes, you definitely should come. You know, Cryosanthia, I was thinking since the dress shopping has gone so well, perhaps we might help Mikilos pick out the proper garb for a romantic evening." She says to Mikilos sweetly, "And you need not worry, I'm certain we'll both be delighted to help. Your joy is ours!"
As she speaks, the shopkeeper, and then an assistant, both take turns coming back out to capture another look at the druid. She's getting rather used to it. They hold up strands of silver and pearl, comparing these with her skin. The man says to the shopkeeper, "I think with her hair up.. a circlet, you mentioned silver chain about the back she mentioned earlier?" It's clear that shopkeepers do their own kind of scrying! "Oh, and we'll be able to duplicate that moon pattern, as well," assures the shopkeeper, gesturing to the one Cryosanthia is modelling.
Mikilos sighs, and rubs absently at his ear. "Oh I'm quite familiar with the latest edition. No, will be a couple weeks before the busybodies get themselves worked up. The diehard fans already came by when the whole 'Bikilos' things dropped, months ago." He sighs, and looks to Elleandra. "I have perfectly functional robes. The formal attire of an Archmage is suited for -all- occasions." He does say it with a straight face, but has trouble not grinning after.
Cryosanthia, for her part, seems to be wearing some fancy robes with an unusual moon pattern on them. Somewhat likeher regular wizard robes, but adjust. She clasps her hands together, "This is true, but you might like something with striking lines, that shows off your form, that perhaps does not come from a dress shop. I would not argue, my clothing expertise is limited."
"Dont need to have clothing expertise when you find something decent to wear." A bald man with a thick moustache says with an alexandrian accent. He pulls out a tailor's measuring tape and begins to measure the lizard. "I admit, your scales are a little pointy but I know just the perfect garb for you." He says as he digs through a bureau of dresses
Elleandra arches an eyebrow at Mikilos. "For /all/ occasions?" she asks, incredulous. "I assure you, there are many occasions for which no clothing is suited." She can't help but giggle again, then yelps as she's prodded by the shopkeeper for some reason. The woman shakes her head at Elleandra, forcing her arms up so that measurements of her chest can be taken.
Elleandra recovers from that after a moment, and doesn't give up. "I hope you at least bathe without them on, Mikilos." The druid looks over at the suddenly-appearing bald man. She narrows her eyes slightly as she looks at him, "You know, I could swear you look like someone I've seen before.."
"This one is not shopping for clothing. This one is going in her scales." Cryo says, looking at the bald man who appeared out of nowhere. She glances back at Elleandra, holding up her gloves, "Oh, it's possible to clean with the clothes on."
"Anyhow Mikilos, something with legs, and a jacket, and only two colours."
Mikilos blinks innocently at Ellendra and doesn't grin. Much. "Presidigitation is a perfectly acceptable method to maintain personal hygiene. Taking time to strip and dress again is time not spent studying, so is time wasted." Okay, he can't keep from grinning at that last bit.
"I would hope so, Elleandra. Considering you left my place without sending word on where you left." Garrett says, letting the sildanyari accent slip as he pulls off his mustache and falce balding scalp to reveal Garrett and his shaved head. He then looks to Cryosanthia and smirks. "She never can tell who I am. MAkes it almost too easy." He says softly before looking to mikilos and watches him curiously.
Sadly Cryosanthia seems to be taking this to heart, nodding as if in full agreement. Does she idolize Mikilos? That would be unusual. Outside of Salina though, he is the most influential intellectual she's been around. Merek... would not be a good choice to copy. So while the sith isn't brilliant, she is clever enough, and taking Mikilos' suggestions perhaps a little too seriously. "Yes! I do that too!"
She looks around for Baldric Mustachio, "Can you measure this man's inside seam? AH! Garrett, where did you come from?"
Elleandra gives Mikilos a look and says, "You are going to be particularly difficult, aren't you? This is good to know. Cryo, it important that the woman be patient, and very strong of spirit." She grins and says, "Maybe a little more experienced, as well, since this one seems to think keeping his robes on is the highest priority. She needs to be.. intelligent, don't you think? So he might study her instead of books?"
The sudden revelation by Garrett makes Elleandra laugh. She throws a hug at him and giggles, "Anyhow, how have you been? How is the clocktower? I have a lot of stories for you, honestly. But.. maybe we should get some fresh air?" When next the shopkeeper comes, gold is finally exchanged. Elleandra doesn't barter over it, and agrees to whatever the male assistant is saying. Something about silver, sapphires, and yet more measurements, now of her hands. "Not to worry, I'll find Kain and set him to the task. A good silversmith is one thing, but one you personally trust is above price."
Kira makes her way through the gardens, making passing note of familiar trees and bushes. Some of them even have names, though they're not widely shared beyond the volunteers and Althean caretakers. She doesn't travel to the hospital, though it does get a long, sad glance. No, her task this evening seems to be... shopping? She stops at one of the cart stalls at the edge of the gardens to look over some early produce.
Mikilos laughs, and nods, holding teh door open so everyone came head back outside. "The last time people started trying to set me up, I moved to a different country." He considers. "But, since this time I have a home and shop... and it didn't stop my cousins from introducing me to their single friends, I guess I'll stay. For now, at least."
Cryosanthia slips past Mikilos and spills out into the street. She instinctively ducks through the doorway even though she doesn't have to. Once out, she's several steps away from the storefront to give the others room. Noticing Kira, she gives her a quick wave before calling back to Mikilos, "You wouldn't like my creche-cousins and I wouldn't set them up with you, it would be too cruel.
"Books dont make the quiet nights much more fun." Garrett says smugly as he walks out and pockets his fake moustache and fake scalp. He then turns to the others. "So I hear there is a plague about. And me avoiding people and stealing their possessions seem less like madness." He says with a smirk as he watches the lizard woman.
Kira doesn't see the wave, as her eye is on the fruit she's purchasing. The call, though, is noticed, as her ears work just fine. It's also not something she'd expect to hear... not that she's dropping eaves.
Kira turns to the familiar voice with the unfamiliar combination of words and now confirms and spies Cryosanthia. She waves, not realizing that she returning it, if a bit late. "Hello!"
Elleandra finds Cryosanthia's interpretation to be perfect. And hilarious. "Yes, he should study her every motion, be intrigued with her every word, and lose many a night of sleep curled up with her." She nods to Mikilos as he holds the door, "Thank you! And in all honesty, I think it's healthy to be with the right person. It makes a good life even better, and the happiness you know can be so much more with the love of your life at your side. If we can help in that, we will. I promise I won't be too pushy." By certain definitions of too pushy. Turning to Garrett's comments, she grows more serious, even grim, "There is a plague. I was only healed earlier today. You want no part of it, but you won't catch it easily, either."
Mikilos quirks a brown at Cryosanthia. "...leather, maybe? I don't know anyone who smells of paper, but most books are bound in leather, so I guess that counts." He nods to Elleandra. "And tall. Literally looking down at someone all the time can't be healthy for a relationship. I mean, I know it works out sometimes, but is an exception to the general rule."
"Ah... yes Garrett." Cryosanthia says, finally overwhelmed and defeated, not about to argue the morality of theft during a pandemic where every other day seems to be a disaster. "Mikilos, I met Tanith! She took me to her home and also banished a Demon Duke from the Temple District, Twice! I'll tell you about her later. This has nothing to do with the previous conversation, I wanted you to know. Okay, she must wear leather, and not so tall she looks down on you."
The white lizard woman is just and inch taller than Mikilos, and while she's not wearing leather she does have that distinctive reptilian smell. She peers at the man, as if she's missing a joke. "You might search for her in libraries? Oh! Would you be interested in Lady Octagna? She's an oruch, you could have a tragic short romance where you out live her, I'm sure she's had a fascinating life, guarding Alexandria, then the City Library."
Kira pays for her fruit and takes it with her, towards Cryosanthia and company. "You are ...looking for an oruch in wearing leather than smells like books and reads romance novels?" She doesn't think she heard any of that right, and probably isn't repeating it right. this is why she's asking, and seems confused.
Elleandra takes a deep breath, drawing in the scent of the gardens and letting them out in a deep sigh. She hears, then looks over to see Kira. "Oh! Hello!" She has her attention divided, but she can't help but blurt out, "Kamaria and I are going to be married soon we'd love it if you could attend!" With another breath she adds, "We're trying to think of the ideal partner for Mikilos. Personally, I'm thinking a very tall elf, with a delicate manner but a spirit stronger than steel." She blinks a few times, "Cryosanthia, it occurs to me that I sound like your work in the Crimson Pen when we talk about these matters.."
Mikilos blinks. "Tanith? I don't believe I know a Tanith. I do know Lady Octagna. I don't think I'm her type. I believe the term 'twink' was used. Though you're partly right, would need be someone long lived. Tragic loss works in books, but not the sort of thing want to actually go though." He smiles to Kira. "They're playing matchmaker." He nods to Elle. "Stong spirit? So maybe someone in the Guild of Explorers. Not an exact translation, but strong spirit and the life of an adventurer tend to go together."
"We might be!" Cryo grins at Kira, "We're looking for women who might be interested in him, so he can ask them to Elly's wedding. Oh! Elly is getting married! She just bought her dress. And Elly, I can totally put you in contact with someone if you have some stories to send in, or ghost write with someone."
"Tanith is a little golden dragon! She loves fish! I... shouldn't get into it here. She's amazing. She let me polish her scales."
The sith listens to Mikilos' musings, "Hmm... a half-mul-sil wouldn't work for you would it. I think there's something unusual about her too... I don't know that many elven explorers. I don't think one gets delicate and steel, only delicate or steel."
Kira blinks, then her smile grows to her ears. "Oh! Congratulations! I'm delighted for you!" Ok, things make a bit more sense now. Especially when they explain the attempts at matchmaking. She can't help but laugh. "Oh my." She looks to Mikilos. "I'm... sorry? happy for you?" Kira isn't sure which is more appropriate. "Matchmaking must be in the air; this is the second time I've heard of it today."
"Thank you!" says Elleandra. She does her normal thing and hugs Kira. At least if she can, and she sure does like to try. "It's so wonderful! Today has been amazing fun." Okay, well not the earlier part that involved plague healing. That started a bit rough. But it ended amazingly well.
Cryosanthia's suggestion sounds good, and so Elly runs with it! "Oohhh, a half-mul, the dark to mingle with the light," says Elleandra. "That would be really dramatic. But the height matter is going to be a bit challenging. Perhaps she should be.. let's see, about a hand shorter than you. Heels would make up the difference, too. I think we can figure this out. And honestly, if she sweeps you off your feet, you will look past those things. I promise." There's a lot on her mind, and she whispers to Cryo, "If I wrote and Kamaria found out she'd tease me so much I might never stop blushing. She's already got a hold of my diary once and that was.. really embarassing."
Mikilos ahs, nods. "Okay, yes, she -is- very fond of fish. I wasn't placing the name at all." He frowns mildly at Cryo. "I've nothing against Mul'niessa, nor half bloods. Certainly I've met unlikeable individuals, but I've also met very good people. Certainly ther's trends, but i try to judge people by their own actions, not the actions of those who happen to look similar. Anyway, a good blade is strong enough to cut though bone, but still delicate enough to flex with minimal pressure. It's all a matter of how the force is applied."
He nods to Elly again. "Maybe Sylvanori? Tanned, but not a cliche level of dark? Dedicated a friece to the cause, but still wild and free?"
"You have a diary? Ooooo." The white sith is curious. She smiles at Mikilos, "Oh yes, I bought her the entire market of fish, and she ate all of them! You wouldn't think cartloads of fish could fit in a dragon the size of a housecat, and she didn't get any heavier either. She took me to see her home!"
Cryo sways happily with the memory, then a sudden throught strikes her, "What if she were a witch and she hovered about. Some of them could do that. Then as long as she was shorter she could float at eye level."
Cryo listens to what Mikilos comes up with, and hmmms, "Those are good."
Kira grins as Cryo recounts her dragon adventures. And, well, Elleandra's mood, or all of theirs, really, is contagious. Kira also arrived here in a great mood to begin with, too. Weddings are always happy times!
Wait... she was just invited, wasn't she?! She blinks anew as sh realizes that she's suddenly unprepared. "When is the celebration? Do I need to wear anything special? Do I need to bring an escort?" She's not a Hearthguard, so she hasn't helped perform any weddings... or even been to any recently.
"There is still time. Considering all the business going on in the city right now, and the fact that so many of the people I love are tied-up in it, there is still some time," explains Elleandra. "But if you would like to come, I would be delighted to have you. And you need not worry about wearing anything special, nor bringing any gifts. We live a simple life, and wouldn't have room for such things anyway. What Kamaria and I most wish for is to be surrounded by the people whom we care for, and so many have had a role in getting us to this point."
Elleandra bounces slightly on her toes. She's not at all excited. "Oh, and yes, I do have a diary. And yes, it's scandalous. I let Kamaria read a few pages and I wasn't clear that other pages were private and then she found many entries about herself and was fascinated in them." She giggles nervously and blushes. But then Mikilos mentions Sylvanori and she looks very, very thoughtful. "You know.. I know a taller Sylvanori who has journeyed the entire continent from the frozen wastes of the north to the south. She's not read a lot of books, but her life is full of stories. And she's single, and experienced in relationships with Llyranesi."
Mikilos nods to Elly. "I've already read many books myself, and while I have traveled, I have to admit most of my knowledge is book learning and labs. One with real world experience could be a solid contrast." He glances to Cyro. "I don't know many witches. The few I have met... are likely happier single."
Cryosanthia bobs her head at Mikilos, "I've not met many witches. The ones I have, were sith-makar, and we've established that wouldn't work for you. They were also married." So, that's a useful note, sith-makar witches are happ..ier witches.
"This one will have to go exploring, do not worry Mikilos. I wish to save you from your Fae Queen infatuation." Cryo grins, with a lot of teeth. She looks over at Elleandra, "This one needs to go track down her cihuaa and make sure he rests. He's been running ragged while I was in poor shape. I do hope to see you all at the wedding."
"Wedding? And no one bothered to invite me? How poor taste. It isnt like I will steal the gifts and the cake...maybe...." Garrett says as he comes back from appraising some jewels. He dismissed the shopkeeper and pointed out his priceless baubles were paste and glass which made him real popular.
Kira is relieved at Elleandra's news. No rush. No special outifts. No worries. Not for now, at least. So she can relax. She then looks to Mikilos, since he is the topic of discussion, in a fashion, and tries to think. Her lips purse as she doesn't seem to any conspicuous options come to mind, though she does try to conribute, "...I think one of the Hearthguards reads some of those same books... That is something in common? I could ask her if she'd like to go with you..."
It's not the best, but she tried, at least. She turns her smile to Cryosanthia when she seems to ready to depart, "I'm sure you'll take good care of him, but you both deserve some rest."
Before Cryo leaves, Elleandra hugs her tightly. "Please send him my greetings. And take care of yourself, as well, dear one." Her words are warm, but soft. "You are my dashing heroine, and the world is better with you in it." She steps away, her smile bright as she waves farewell.
To Garrett, Elleandra points out, "I was attempting to, but when I got to it you were too busy.. what is the word? Oh yes. Casing the place." And then back to Mikilos, where she smiles at Kira's suggestion. "Tell me who it is and I'll make an excuse to invite her. Mikilos can see all his options at their best!"
Mikilos blinks. "...Fae Queen infatuation? Admit, I've met three... lived with one, fell in love with one, agreed to see one on a regular basis for a few decades.... yeah, okay, that's a fair misunderstanding. Though I think they're all just after my blood, in different ways..."
Cryosanthia gives Mikilos a long, thoughtful look. Her memories are ghosts, water, slipping and fading whenever she grasps at them, "I lived with the same one, perhaps we shared space. This one will not know until some memories come back, and, they likely will not be good. We should find a happier housemate for you, one that doesn't leave ownership brands." She exhales with a sigh, her cool breath washing over the dawn elf.
The whitescale bows to Kira, Elly and Kamaria, and grins with a lot of teeth at Garrett, "Thank you for the kind words All, I appreciate your friendship. I hope to see you at the wedding. This one will dance. Perhaps I shall have bells on! I must go now, Peace on your Nests."
With a wave, Cryo heads off.
"I will have you know, the work I have been doing is legitimate. All for the adventurer's guild." He says as he pulls a lock pick from his sleeve and uses the fine point to pick at black under his nail. "So when is this wedding? I will try and clear my schedule." Garrett says almost lazilly.
Kira may have actually helped, and now she falters with an almost-frown. "I'm sorry. I don't remember. I don't know her well... but I will tell you when I can." She gives Cryosanthia a parting wave farewell, and then blinks at Mikilos. "If they were anything like her..." Well, she tries not to be biased, but... To push away that line of thought, she asks Garrett, "Are you bringing and escort to the wedding?"
"Last time I brought a date to anything, I still had hair." Garrett says coldly as he rubs his bald head. He then looks to Elleandra. "Besides the only girl I would bring is the one getting married, no?" He asks as he looks to Elleandra and he shrugs and puts the lockpick back in his sleeve. "Besides, I dont do crowds that well. May get tempted to steal from the guests."
Elleandra arches an eyebrow at Garrett. "Yeah, well, the adventurer's guild has sent me on a few shady missions, so that hardly is a free pass," she replies. Still, she's smiling, amused by Garrett's actions, as always. "And sorry, Garrett, the lady of your dreams must still be out there, waiting for you to steal her heart."
She sighs quietly and looks back at the shop, as if staring might make her dress suddenly be ready. Only the magic of waiting a few days will manage that. "And certainly, Kira, when you can find her name, let me know. Maybe I can just happen to meet you when she's around and bring up the wedding. To be honest, I don't have family in the area, though.. my mother, the great traveller, is going to be there. I can't wait for you all to meet her. I was hoping she'd get here early enough to meet people ahead of the ceremony, but she's been a bit delayed by something or other."
Mikilos peers after Cryosanthia and chuckles. "I really hoped I can be there when she meets Val." He turns focus to Kira, and nods seriously. "I don't remembr meeting Endless Winter, but I'm told she's... cold. Unfeeling. I'm not sure she really -cares- about anything. Niceven, Queen of the Wee Ones, was almost the oppostie. Inquisitive, amused, and blood thirsty in a literal sort of way. Seems elven blood is like fine wine to her."
"Then she wouldnt want my diluded elven blood." Garrett says to Mikilos as he looks to Kira. "Do you have a date?" He asks as he watches the woman wearing the eyepatch. He shrugs as he sighs. "I hate formal affairs. Makes me homesick." He says softly as he looks to Cryosanthia's leaving shadow and he turns back to Elleandra. "Maybe I can date your mother and then order you around." He says teasingly to Elleandra.
Kira nods to Elleandra, then her smile turns more amused at Garrett's comment. "I hope she didn't take the hair with her..." She starts to say something to Mikilos, but her mouth barely opens, then pauses. She turns back to Garrett. "I... think I might, yes." And then she forgets what she was going to say to Mikilos and her eye widens at Garrett with a gasp. "Her mother?! At -her- wedding?!"
"Ohhh, Garrett, Garrett," says Elleandra, stifling a laugh, "My mother is a bit much for you. But perhaps.. she might find some romantic pursuits welcome. She has been single since my birth, after all." The druid looks at Mikilos, then, grinning. "I can't wait for you all to meet her. She's amazing. Prettier than I am by far and braver, too. Taught me everything I know, and would have taught me more, if I'd have been sharper than I am." She kind of worships her mom, really. "But as different as I've always been, she's supported me. My father didn't even reply to the invite. He's... not happy about my choices as of late." Which in the terms of her people means the past several decades.
Mikilos chuckles and shakes his head. "I'm sure it will be a lovely wedding, how ever it all ends up comming togther."
"I never knew my father. Mother claimed I looked alot like him. He was the first human she met and was charmed by. She never talked about her much, but the rest of my family made it clear he was as welcome as a tick is in your genitalia." Garrett says as he looks to Kira. He chuckles as he smirks. "Before my exile from Silvermoon, I was to take my mother's side as an assistant ambassador. I know ettiquette but hate it absolutely."
Kira tries not to make a face at Garrett's ... ants-in-the-pants comment. She doesn't really succeed, but does turn it more into a saddened expression at the brief tale. "That doesn't sound like you would've enjoyed that at all..."
She now realizes she was a bit behind with the talk of Elleandra's mother, since now Elle is ...adding her to the suggestion box for Mikilos? Yes, Mikilos. He seems to have the right of it by just smiling and nodding (or shaking his head), so she now chooses to just nod and agree, also, "I'm sure it will be a wonderful wedding."
Elleandra nods, "I know it will be, because I will be surrounded by the people who care for me most in the world. But there are probably a few things I should see to, and I imagine you all also have things you want to do." She slips into a curtsey to her friends, "May Eluna bless you all." She rises, then makes a point to hug everyone too. "I can't wait to celebrate with you!"
Kira returns the curtsey, and the hug. "The Healer's Grace be upon you. I look forward to it!" Everyone deserves some joyous celebration, especially now.
Garrett lets the woman hug him and he awkwardly pats her back. It's clear he isnt used to hugging. Never got that growing up except for when he was a child. Anyway he looks to Mikilos and he turns to Kira. "So it would seem I am dateless. I sure do hope I can get over it by stealing some coinpouches." He says as he looks to a man walking by and sighs as he sees the obvious coin purse.
Kira releases Elle to eye Garrett. She's still smiling, but there's a firmness to it. "I hope you are joking again."
"Look if I dont pick pocket someone, someone else will and then there is someone else with money to spend and not me. I gave up religion when I was exiled from silvermoon, much to the church's dismay." Garrett says as he crosses his arms and pouts at Kira.
"You will have a clean conscience," Kira counters, now with more mirth in her smile, "and won't be the one in trouble with the magistrate or held by The Watch. There are many more upstanding ways to earn a living than not."
Mikilos considers. "So you need a date, and I'm supposed to have a date... I think there's an easy answer there." The wizard smiles, and adjusts his head band... only to morph down into a tiny elderly gnome woman, grinning up at Garret. "Wadda think, handsome?" she asks, words whisteling around her single tooth.
"There wont be any trouble if no one catches me, Mother." Garrett says sarcastically as he sighs. "Besides I been doing legitimate jobs. Nothing too challenging." He says as he looks to Mikilos. "I said I was dateless, not desperate." He says with a smirk.
Kira blinks at Mikilos. Twice. Just to make it full and proper. Then she breaks down into laughter. When she manages to regain her composure, she straightens out her robes. "I think I should leave you two alone, to make your plans... May The Healer's Grace be upon you..." a glance to Garrett " ... and please stay out of trouble. Good evening to you both."
