- Summary: Irshya is cleaning up a side of the bathhouse in the TarRaCe after a large half-bird apparently made its way in and splashed water about from the previous night. Aryia and Seyardu help out with such efforts, as well as relaying to Irshya the absolute bonkers of a time they had in a different land. And a different time. Which, such exhaustion over it lead to being unable and unwilling to stop the feathered beast from rampaging in the bathhouse. Aryia promises to make some clothes for Irshya as long as Aryia gets a free pass to the baths, and Seyardu offers a suggestion for a makari friendly bathhouse event.
The blue sky and bright sunshine above give a false impression of warmth outside, but they add greatly to the cheer inside the Tarrace. The main room is modestly full, and full of cheerful chatter among the patrons.
The baths are somewhat subdued. Only a few patrons occupy the men's side of the baths, with one Sith-makar enjoying a massage and scale polishing by the main bath. The lady's baths are closed, according to the sign.
There is a single occupant of the said bath, someone who mutters in Goblin, words that have an angry tilt to them. She thoroughly scrubs the floor tiles with a broom specially designed for it. The pool slowly gurgles, lazily swirling around the drain at the bottom, forming a small whirlpool in the middle. Every lick of furniture has been moved to one side, while a sopping pile of towels, slippers and bathing suits lays near the door.
A scarred mul'neissa staggers into the bathhouse, rubbing the side of her head. She's found a bucket and a brush broom. Decked in a white bath robe, she pads in, looking about with wide eyes. Damn... Rameriez really put a number on stuff. Spying her friend, she gives a little sigh and walks on over.
She gives a soft two note whistle in greeting, waving from the hip.
A silver sith-makar steps into the bathhouse as well. She stops to look at her kin getting a massage for a moment, before her attention is taken by Aryia slipping into the closed section of the baths. Against her better judgement, she follows after her, to see The gobbo cleric hard at work.
"The wizards have it easy, do they not? Just a wave of their hands, for even a novice wizard any mess they wish is gone." Seyardu chuckles. "But us followers of the divine, have no such power. Perhaps the gods feel the laziness is not good, but it does not help when there is much to do. Would you like some assistance, Irshya?"
Irshya lets out a little squeak at the whistle, having been angrily absorbed in her task. She peers over her shoulder, her expression one of irritation, though that softens when she recognizes who the whistler is.
"Aryia, hello!", she says, her tone more cheerful than her expression lets on. "Irshya is sorry, the pool is closed. My staff informed me that the pool was a complete mess, water everywhere." She gestures to a deckchair, set with the other funiture, where several feathers lay. Multiple white ones, but two a deep crimson in colour.
"Irshya believes a large bird got in, somehow. No one can understand how it got in here."
On Seyardu's arrival, Aryia nods. "Hmm, Irshya of two minds on that. It would be nice, sometimes, to be able to exercise a modicum of power to clean the place with a wave of one's hand. On the other hand, it is kind of uhm... lazy, yes?" The Gobbo shakes her hand. "No, Irshya is good, you do not need to help. Both of your company would be pleasant, though!"
Aryia gives a soft smile, though she shakes her head. As if denying the denial for health, she plops the bucket down and holds onto her own push brush. She had no comment about the bird, just a raised brow before he bristles of the brush plonk into a puddle, and she goes about shoving the water into the draining pool.
"And what am I supposed to do in that case, sit around and watch a friend work while I do nothing? That would be much worse." The Silver makari chuffs, and she shakes her head. "Besides, I need to know how this is done, in case I ever need to help in the future."
"I will not hide that I know the bird in question. Well, half bird. They were looking for lord Emp."
The Gobbo blinks at Aryia, and she squints faintly. "You uhm don't have anything to do with this, do you Aryia?" Glancing at Seyardu, Irshya sighs lightly, and goes over to silver-scale, offering her the push broom. "You can dunk the bristles into the bucket over there, and push the broom back and forth on the tiles. Be sure to get the grout, the stuff between the tiles. Then, as Aryia is doing, you can push the suds and water into the pool. Then Irshya will use the magic many wizards cannot do, and rinse the place down."
She pauses. "Lord Emp? As in Sabina's familiar?" Irshya's expression brightens immensely. "She's here?"
Aryia glances to the gobbo. "I don't have anything to do with it. But I know who did it. Didn't stop it because, well, I was dead tired yesterday and my brain was fried. Sorry," she signs slowly before resuming the work.
She gets a few more puddles and tiles cleaned up before a brisk hand shuts that down. "No. She's not. The bird in question didn't know E-M-P was not here. Sorry." The talk of potential rain coming makes the elf doff her robe, folding it and setting it far away from the splash zone. She's in her typical chest wrap and black trunks. Padding back over, she resumes cleaning, her mind occupied. <Handspeech>
Seyardu shakes her head. "No, we did not have anything to do with it, save for my not being around to stop it." She explains, taking the broom and beginning her cleaning. "They were looking for lord emp, not that they were here."
"It has been hard taking care of this place on your own, has it not."
"Oh." The Gobbo's disappointment is palpable. "Irshya misses her greatly.", she says softly. "So uhm, it was a big half bird?" Irshya's expression is one of confusipn. "Like Irshya is half shark? And uhm, well, you don't have to do this either. Not your fault some stray thing got in here."
Her expression really saddens for a moment at Seyardu's comment about the difficulty of running the Tarrace. "N.no. It's fine."
Aryia gives a light nod at Irshya's question. Yep, half bird. Though, she gives a small sigh and puts her broom down, her padding over to the pool shark and patting her head. "It's not fine," she gestures. <Handspeech>
"I miss her as well, but I understand not to the degree that you would." Seyardu states as she is squinting at the stonework, in between the tiles. "Ramirez is a hippogryph. like half a bird the size of a horse in the front, with the back legs and tail of a horse."
"But I agree with Aryia. I saw the toll running this place took on her. I do not wish you to reach the same point. After all, where else has baths as wonderful as these?" She jokes.
For a brief moment, the Gobbo looks completely miserable. But she shakes her head and grins. "It is fine.", she says, firmly. "Nothing that Irshya cannot handle. Especially with friends supporting her, yes?"
Irshya sighs lightly. "How did a hippogryph get inside here? Irshya doesn't mind.. small animal-sized familiars if they are well behaved... but a horse sized one?" She grumbles then. "In the pool?"
Ariya softly sighs, her putting aside her broom and affixing Irshya with a stern look. "It is not fine. But it is good you recognize that people are here to help you," she signs slowly before putting a hand on the gobbo's shoulder. "... he is... a persistent bird." <Handspeech>
"The front doors are big enough for a horse smart enough and stubborn enough to squeeze through. As are those to the bathhouse." Seyardu adds, furiously scrubbing at a spot of grout that looked off. "But yes, you do not have to hide your feelings, accepting them is important. We will be here to help as much as you need, but helping yourself comes first, and we can assist with that."
Irshya sniffles then, and hugs at the Mul'neissa. "Irshya misses Sabina and Ygraine. Irshya enjoyed being part of the trio. Now it feels as though Irshya is alone in governing the Tarrace." She snorts after a moment. "So people let a horse-sized bird thing into the Tarrace..." Irshya peers up at the Aryia, "And simply shrugged and went about their way?" She lets out a long sigh. "Irshya knows she's not alone."
The mute readily returns the hug, nodding into it slowly. "Sorry you have to deal with it by yourself. That's why I don't mind helping you clean."
The elf pulls away and rubs her neck. "... I'm going to be honest, shark, we just got back from going shoved into different timelines, I fought an alternate version of myself, and had to stare down something that nearly obliterated a friend with just a touch. I was kind of fried to do anything." <Handspeech>
"I am sure that Sabina will still be around. But she would not also leave you to do all of this alone. She would make sure that it can be managed, whether that be with outside assistance, or not."
At mention of not doing anything to stop it however, she just sighs. "I should have done something, but yes, we were exhausted from our time in Tashraan. And, I can not shake the thought. Aryia would never act like that. And, neither would I. But the thought of seeing myself capable of such things, it is not a pleasant thought."
The Gobbo stares at Aryia as she explains, and then rubs her face at the end. "Did.. this happen before or after you started drinking?", she wonders, with a cheeky grin. Her upper jaw displays a recently missing tooth, with the replacement nearly having taken its place. "Irshya supposes after a night like that, a half-bird, half-horse thing might not stick out in your mind."
She blinks and peers at Seyardu, "Oh. A shared hallucination? Or ... did you two go adventuring together?"
Seyardu has reconnected.
Aryia thumbs at her necklace, a simple string with a shark tooth on it. She frowns and shakes her head. "Yes. This was an adventure. We got back yesterday. Was gone only for about a... few days. I think. But we got stuck in a time loop and it felt like weeks."
The elf blinks, then slowly sighs. "... no, we are not fucking with you. We're serious." <Handspeech>
"It was weeks apparently that we can not remember, save for the last one. On top of the normal days spent travelling and at the auction." Seyardu sighs. "I still do not know why I kept that dress. Perhaps I simply did not wish to throw it out, not wishing to waste it."
"It was several of us, Fallon, and Lyme, Paenitia, Aryia, and, I think River Stone was there at some point. I can barely remember. I hope he got back alright."
Irshya stares at Aryia, and then nods slowly. Seyardu's addition does nothing to improve things, however. The Gobbo's expression sours slightly. "If you are not ... fucking ... with Irshya, then Irshya must say that you suck at lying." She snorts and giggles, prodding Aryia in the stomach. "So uhm. You got stuck in time. Loop. And that is why you were drinking, then?"
Aryia softly snickers at Irshya's hesitancy to corrupt her vocabulary. She blinks as her abs are poked, then laughs quietly once more. "Yes. Because it sucked, and I wanted to unwind really badly." <Handspeech>
"She is not worse at lying than I am. Or, we are very close in capability to do so." Seyardu chuckles. "To be honest, I was mostly there to make sure Aryia was alright. And yet, I think despite that, I was left drinking longer than she was. Thank you for letting her use one of the back rooms by the way, Irshya."
Her expression remains doubtful, but she rubs at the back of her head. "So uhm how did this all start, then? What were you two doing?"
Irshya grins. "And of course, I don't mind her crashing on one of my cots. It means Irshya gets a hug in the morning. And it is good to know that she was safe, and comfortable, while sleeping off her drink."
Aryia snickers, nodding at Seyardu. Yes, Aryia is a terrible liar.
She smile some, her rubbing her neck and looking off to the side. "Yes, I appreciate that."
The mute gestures, her sitting down on a bench as she does so. "Well, we were doing a job. Just get an item at an auction. Then it sort of... went downhill. And I hate that dress I got there. I want to burn it." <Handspeech>
"How many cots do you have in that case?" Seyardu chuckles. "I was led to believe there is not rooms in the tarrace."
Finally seeming happy with the cleaning she had done, even crouching down to squint at the tile, she begins pushing the water into the bath. "Yes, all we were supposed to do was attend an auction. But things became complicated when all the objects at the auction were changing, or, people remembered different things. Why do you want to burn it? It does not look any worse than your other clothes, and I do not mean anything bad by that. At least it is not a rainbow of feathers."
"Irshya is also pleased to serve you breakfast. Irshya enjoys taking care of guests. That a guest is also a good friend makes it better." The Gobbo's chest puffs up a little.
Her ears perk up as she listens to the tale. "Did the object send you back in time? Was it assassins?" She cants her head slightly, looking between the two women. "You both went shopping for dresses while.. back? or forward? ... in time?"
A eyebrow rises up slightly, and the Gobbo nods her head. "There are no rooms for guests of the Tarrace. But there are a number of small rooms. Sometimes our servers or cooks need a space to stay overnight. Nothing more than a cot, and a place to hang clothing. But they are warm, comfortable, and safe. Not to mention you have access to the best baths in Alexandria!" Irshya giggle lightly and blinks. "A dress made of feathers? That must be amazing! Also... itchy."
Aryia shrugs, her face pinched a bit in thought. "Technically, a couple of days ago. Really it was a couple of weeks ago for us." She looks to Seyardu, her face expressionless. "I hate those large ball dresses. I hate them now, and my past self hated wearing them too." She nod nods at this, certain of her distaste for the too large attire.
"At least yours looked quite nice, Seyardu."
The mute settles her attention on the pool shark, her shaking her head. "I don't know. Time is bleeding, apparently. Whatever that means. Something someone did in a different time got us pulled into the time loop. If it doesn't make sense, don't worry, we're just as lost as you." <Handspeech>
"We went shopping both times." Seyardu explains, allowing herself a moment to close her eyes and sigh. "When I went back to my room, it was still there. It seems twice I decided to purchase it. It is not itchy, there is cloth under all the feathers. I could show you sometime Irshya. And, it does not look terrible, but it is a bit, well, extravagant?"
"I did not know you used to wear ball gowns Aryia." She notes. "Yes, the baths here are absolutely wonderful, Irshya. I wished to ask you about a request some time, actually."
"Irshya bets you both looked pretty wearing dresses!", the Gobbo says excitedly. "Irshya would like to see you in them, some time." She blinks a few times, her expression one of confusion. "Irshya is definitely lost." Irshya peers at Seyardu then. "What did you buy when shopping? And... sure, Irshya would be pleased to listen to a request!"
Aryia looks off to the draining pool, her pursing her lips. "I did. And priest robes too," she mentions off handedly. "But yes, the baths are great."
The elf rubs her neck. "It looked okay. I think I can make better dresses than that now. Though, yes, it is easy to get lost in the logic of it. Just... we tried to go to an auction dressed up, went back in time, dealt with the issues going back in time, and then had to deal with a version of me that decided to mess up a lot of stuff. That's really the gist of it." <Handspeech>
"It looked good, but if you don't like it, so be it. I find it hard to imagine you in priest vestments, however." The makari chuffs. "And I imagine you would yourself, Irshya. Just need to adjust it for your fins."
"This one, was wondering if you would be willing to change up the baths for a day, or a few hours. I know not how difficult it would be, but, it would be nice to have something like am'shere hotsprings, for a day. If Cryosanthia could make the trip out here, she might benefit from such, with the minerals traditionally found in them."
"And, this one, Sjach is not normally in the cities, I wanted to show them this place, and they would find it quite welcoming, and nice." She adds, sweeping the last bit of the water she was cleaning up with into the pool.
"Do you think that maybe the fancy clothes determined that you would go back in time?", the Gobbo wonders of Aryia. "Oh, Irshya did not know that you could make clothes. What sorts of things can you make?"
She hmms and rubs at her chin, as if considering something. "Well, the baths are already heated. We could make them warmer, maybe even hot. There are fires, underneath the pools. It is an easy request, I think, yes."
"Yes, it's hard for me to imagine too." She leaves it at that. rAryia smirks a bit at Seyardu's suggestion, nodding in agreement that it was a good idea. For a date. Though, she shakes her head at Irshya. "No, the clothes were irrelevant." She blinks. "... yes, I do. I can make just about anything. Dresses, casual clothes, blankets, suits. That green jacket I wear, I made that." <Handspeech>
"It would be warmer, yes, a few things are dissolved in the water, that would be not be difficult to replicate. This would be, it would be very nice to do that for a day." Seyardu continues, seeming pleased by the prospect. "Thank you, Irshya. I will let you know before if you can do that, and ah, Sjach, they are another makari, a good friend of mine. Just so that is clear."
Seyardu squints, and she nods to the gobber. "Aryia makes good clothes, she has made some for many people. Though I have magic sleeves that make physical clothes less necessary. I bet that Aryia could make a dress for you, one with a low cut on the back, for your fins, perhaps? It must be difficult, for clothes like that. Few places fashion clothes for sith-makar tails, and I imagine there are even less for fins like yours."
Irshya nods slowly. "Do you take...", she pauses, her expression thoughtful. "Commissions?" She gestures with a thumb over her shoulder. "Irshya have some interesting ... body parts."
The Gobbo nods at Seyardu. "Yes, Irshya understands. Such an arrangement can be made, if a few days warning were given. We could take one of the side pools, and close it to the public. You would have privacy." She nods again in agreement. "Yes, Irshya's tail and fin make for awkward armor and clothing situations. Going nude has always felt better."
Aryia couldn't help but wink at Seyardu at the mention of Sjach, her lightly smirking.
She looks down to the gobbo, her tilting her head to the side before slowly nodding. "I do, yes. I can work with whatever."
She shoots a confident thumbs up. <Handspeech>
"That would be wonderful, Irshya. I will look forward to that." The silverscale grins, before she catches the wink and covers her snout with one hand. "Perhaps you need some sleeves such as these. I do not even worry about working a tail through any clothing anymore. But, it would probably be an interesting challenge for Aryia, would it not? And I wouldn't speak for her, but I doubt she would charge you for the work. Materials, maybe."
"Irshya wants a dress. And pants and matching blouse.", the Gobbo says softly. "In a nice pale blue, or sea green." She looks up at Aryia, a hopeful look in her eyes. Her eyes then narrow, and she glances at Seyardu. "Is this event just for you and Sjach?", she wonders, suspiciously.
"Wait. What are these sleeves that you speak of?"
Aryia listens to the requests, her closing her eyes and trying to file that information away. "Free pass to the baths, I'll take that as payment," she lightly smiles. "I can do that. I'll just need to get your measurements another time."
She lightly smirks as she gets the reaction she wanted out of Seyardu. <Handspeech>
When Irshya squints at the makari, her hand brings her face further down with it. "I would like to take Cryosanthia here. But ah, if at some point it was just myself and Sjach, it would be nice."
The cleric reaches for her arm, and pulls at the sleeve on it, which leads to the robes she was wearing that day vanishing, along with the rest of her clothes, save for a black cloth sleeve with silver embroidery on her left arm, to match the one held in her hand. "These can take the shape of nearly any manner of clothes. But, they are much better in the hands of those with a better sense of color."
The Gobbo blinks at Aryia. "Free pass to the baths? You would take that in trade, instead of coin?" She nods softly, "Irshya can be available whenever you have a moment to do that."
She peers at the silver-scale once more. "Please say that you will keep it clean, yes? In here?" Her head cants to one side as suddenly Seyardu is in the buff (ed scales). "Isn't that uhm risky? Someone accidentally tugs on your sleeve and then everyone can see you..."
Aryia grins, and nod nods, giving the gobbo a pat on the head. "Nice. We can do that in a couple of days, then. Think about how you want it to look in the meantime."
She blinks, and shakes her head. "Don't worry, Seyardu isn't like that." <Handspeech>
Seyardu looks up, and shakes her head quickly. "No, no, I would not wish to do that, I know how much this place means to you, and how hard you work to keep it like this." She states. "It would just be nice to be here with them. Perhaps a bit of ah, snuggling, at the most."
"As for this? Well, it is not a big deal for myself, they are just scales, is all. Many wear very little back in Mictlan and Am'shere. Un'eth rarely wears much at atll."
The Gobbo giggles and shakes her head. "Irshya knows that sometimes things just happen, is all. There is no accusation in there, yes? Irshya will be happy to arrange a nice bath for you and your friends." She rubs at her cheek. "Before Irshya came here, she never wore clothes, and did not know to be embarrassed about it."
She nods to Aryia. "Yes, that works for me." She makes a small, satisfied noise at being patted on the head.
Aryia gives a thumbs up at Irshya. She didn't have anything to add about clothing, so she gets up to start gathering the cleaning supplies up.
"Thank you, Irshya." Seyardu sighs, taking a moment to pull the sleeve back on, which makes the robe reappear around them. "To be honest, I often felt the same way. What clothes I bought here were to be more approachable, and so that I would not be confused."
The cleric sets aside her broom, and nods.
Giggling, the Gobbo's holy symbol flashes a bright light, and it begins to rain inside the bath's area. It doesn't last long, and Irshya uses the time to rinse the tiles and push the water into the pool.
