- Summary: Irshya is healing Bannon of an injury in the Temple District and draws a crowd, or perhaps it is Bannon's retelling of how he received the injury. The healing goes loudly. Braelnoir arives from the festival grounds, injured from training. Ashlee drifts in. The former chimera with the fighting injuries and the arvec with a skull face are asked to elaborate on those, and do so while Kira also offers some healing. After this, Braelnoir asks Ashes if she knows whether Ghishaa remains dead, the mourner explains she overheard the crows talking and that was where she got her information but doesn't have a lot more to add. The two leave for beers.

The air of solemn, heavy divinity in the area is often broken by laughter. The dual presence of the deities Althea and Daeus, man and wife, stand towards the center, with their children and their children's temples positioned around them. The presence of the divine is felt not only by their temples, but also by the actions of their worshipers. The great plaza is as a social center, paved in brilliant, white flagstones and covered in benches and sitting areas. Priests, acolytes, and servicefolk of all stripes roam the plaza, going from one task to the other.
At the front of the temples of Daeus and Althea, at the Plaza's centermost point, rests a great fountain, the cheerful waters reflecting the Sun during the day, and the Moon and Stars at night. The fountain is strategically centered, and is oft a place for wisdom and lesson-giving. It is not uncommon for a priest of some stripe or the other to stand there, surrounded by the curious and faithful, delivering messages of hope or contemplation. At other times, it and the plaza become a landscape of celebration of the holy holidays.
Few vendors are seen in the plaza--the nearby temples provide most food or services. Towards the west, the great Bridge stretches across the river, and towards the east, the Redridge mountains. The plaza rests in the midst of it all, the temples massive and grand on the Alexandrian scale.

The Gobbo stares at Bannon as he launches into a lengthy retelling of an... obviously embellished story. She eyes Kira and Sabina as they encourage him to continue. At some point, she huffs and tugs upon the man's injured arm slightly, raising up a hand. "Irshya heard enough. Irshya fix now." If he stays still long enough, and low enough for her to do her work, she will inspect the wound at length. There's some pain, certainly, as she prods and pokes.
Bannon may be surprised by a stream of water as the wee Current's hand lights up, washing the wound thoroughly. And soaking the man as well. Next, a pure white stream flows from the Gobbo's hand, splashing over the wound, and pouring down the man's arm. This second stream feels cool and soothing, his wound closing quickly.
Another beautiful day in Alexandria. Gnawing on a skewer of fire-roasted game bird, Braelnoir makes her way from the Festival grounds, the left side of her jaw and what's visible of her arms covered in bruises, and over the whole of her is a fine veneer of dust-caked sweat and dirt, though she seems in no real discomfort, despite.
Bannon nods slowly to Sabina and Kira, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly as he admonishes the fellow Tarienite, "Now now, I got those holes in my hide for a good cause, thank you very much." He then laughs wryly, "He was due a little anger, at this point. You'll see why in a minute." He takes a moment to compose himself, "Where was I?" He then seems to come to a conclusion, at which point he nods his head, "Right. He had just barely drew his sword in time and we were fighting across the bar. Literally. Our fight took us around the tables, up onto the stools and literally across the bar. I had backed him up off the bartop, and there's this thing you can do when you fight with angles as I do, where you work left to right and then changes levels..." He then looks up, adding as an aside, "Like a front flip off the bartop..." He then adds with an emphatic hand gesture to illustrate the move, "And then as they're blocking left and right, come in low and straight on." He then frowns, "I did run into a problem with that, however."
He blinks, looking towards the Gobber as if offended for a moment, "Well, they haven't, and anyway... I'm trying to commit everything I can to memory before I forget it." There are the occasional grunts as the wound is poked, "By Tarien's bronze bollocks, do you need to make the wound bigger to fix it? I think I missed that in Dealing With The Cleric class!"
Drifting along, as if blown by a slight breeze, an ashen Arvec Nar walks closer. Soft, slow steps, a slight flutter to her tattered clothes, silent, she has terrific posture and a somewhat unsettling visage. A skull is painted, tattoo'd or formed by skin discolouration on her face, and her thick stringy hair hangs in an unkempt mop. She resembles a small, stereotypical death, although she is missing a scythe.
Approaching the group she makes a small nod of her head. "It's not necessary but it helps." She says, her voice very monotone, as she watches the proceedings and pokings.
"Hello 'Bina, Not-a-Monster."
At Ashes approach Lord Emp gives a cry and flaps off high into the air to float on the slight breezes off and towards the temple of Tarien. Bina looks startled..by the bird, not Ashes.. and curses softly under her breath. "Frigging impatient bird.. I swear by all that's holy... " She stands up and shouts after her familiar "HEY! Just wait a minute! It's not dinner time yet!" A sigh and a pained look. "I'm sorry everyone.. I must go see to the Lord Emp's needs lest I be pecked awake in the middle of the night. Hi Ashley! Bye everyone!" And she trots off after the bird.
"A problem?" Kira is interested in the tale, though she does notice Brae walking over. Maybe because of the dirt and bruises. She doesn't call out, though, so as not to interrupt, but does wave to her. It then shifts into a farewell as she turns it towards Sabina and, of course, Lord Emp. It's only after that she's able to turn to offer a pleasant "Hello" to the arvek.
Speaking of missing a scythe....
Brae spies the group congealed on up ahead, just in time for the greeting from the Arvek, which gets a wry, "'ey, Spooky." and a languid wave from her free hand before she upnods to, "Irsh, Kira, Sab, Ban, how ya'll doin?" And Sabina's off chasing her famliar, trailing a quizzical look from Brae and she sidles on up like she owns the place.
The Gobbo huffs at Bannon. "Well if man would stop moving about, Irshya could clean wound properly. Unless one wants sharp objects to extrude themselves through his flesh? Or infection." The wound does close, the angry colour of skin slowly fading. Irshya lets him go then. She startles when the bird gives a call and flies away, the Gobbo offering Sabina wave. "Irshya see Binabina tomorrow!"
She looks to Kira a moment, and then Ashes, before her gaze takes in Braelnoir. "Braelnaw!", Irshya calls out. Running, she comes to a stop at the woman's side. "Irshya misses roommate. How did Brae get hurt? Brae need help?"
Ash continues to watch, first as the peacock flies off with Sabina trailing, then as the wound is cleaned and healed. She has a beaten leather satchel that's she's wearing over one shoulder, with her hand resting on it. Her other hand hangs at her side, and she's quite still. She nods to Kira's greeting, although she doesn't seem to have anything to say. For the most part, she stands still and lives up to the moniker Braelnoir gave her, being spooky.
Bannon gives a wave to Sabina, and then looks back to Kira, "Aye. The reason I called Grayspire a mutinous bastard is because he was. He committed mutiny on the ship we both served on. As a matter of fact, it was him who taught me how to change levels like that. So..." He shrugs his shoulders, stops, and then looks down at his formerly wounded shoulder, "Hey! Great job!" He offers a quick wave to Braelnoir as he says, "Oh, hello there! Doing much better now." He looks back to Kira, "In truth, I didn't do as well in that fight as I would have liked. It was more like he shot and missed, he stabbed me, I stabbed him, we both mutually decided to piss off and get healing."
Kira ahs as she looks back to Bannon and nods. "That's good, of both of you, that you chose to stop and seek healing. Which you found the best, I think." She smiles wider at Irshya and her results... though it dims in concern when she looks to Brae. "Speaking of healing... what happened? Are you alright?
Braelnoir gives Irshya a little smile and reaches out to ruffle her hair a touch, "Hey, Irsh, yeah there's some stuff I had t'take care of." She pinches through a strip of muscle to peel from her skewer and holds it out for her roomate if she wants, turning her attention back toward the Arvek, "Been meanin' t'look ya up once I got some stuff sorted, Ash, but this works, too. How ya been?" There's a bit of a look thrown Bannon's way as she notes, "Good luck chasin'm down, Ban." She glances at a purplish blot on her arm, then back to Kira and shrugs, "I wouldn't worry about't, none. Just some bruises from trainin', good clean fun, thanks, though."
Irshya sniffs heavily at the tidbit that Braelnoir offers and she stands on tiptoe to daintily pull it from the woman's fingers with her teeth. There's hardly a chew before it is swallowed. The Gobbo holds up her hand, and the white light once more flows from her, bathing Braelnoir's bruising in a cool soothingness. "Irshya help!", she says cheerfully.
To Bannon, Irshya offers a toothy grin. "Irshya hopes you feel better. Be careful! No get wounded again."
"I'm usually at the Temple," Ashlee gestures up the mountain, to the Temple of Vardama. She drops her arm and returns to looking at Braelnoir. She has no real expression, the sugar skull makeup handling most of that. She tucks a few strands of hair behind her ear, and resumes acting like a shadow.
Bannon tilts his head and then grins quickly, "Still, not the ideal resolution." He then stands from the fountain, winking to Braelnoir, "I don't need luck. I have luck to spare." He then lifts a hand, waving to Irshya, "I make no guarantees. I don't always have a say in when I'm wounded next. Part of the job." With a chuckle, he begins proceeding through the Temple Square towards the Tarienites.
The Gobbo waves to Bannon as he heads off, and she tugs upon Braelnoir's arm. "Did Irshya's blessing from Rada help?", she wonders of the woman. Irshya strays then, moving to look curiously at Ashes' face. She grins toothily at the woman. "One of Death's?"
Braelnoir blinks as Irshya suddenly casts her healing, "Wai-what?" and she blinks and shivers at the cooling sensation, "Thanks luv..." she says, giving a little smile as her bruises fade to naught. Her attention turns to Ashley and, "That may be a better place to talk this out'n all likelihood." her attention briefly turns itno a wave to Bannon as he takes off, then is brought back to the goblin, "Oh, ya done fine, luv, thank you." she says with a smile.
"Yes," Ashlee gives a slight nod towards Irshya. She seems to be an arvec of few words, and doesn't smile. It would make the teeth painted over her lips look strange. Her attention turns towards Braelnoir, she tilts her head slightly to the left, there's almost no inflection in her voice even as she asks a question, "It's official business?"
Irshya pauses to look to Braelnoir, and she giggles at the woman. "Brae looked surprised. Irshya like helping!" She looks back to Ashes. "Did Death paint your face? Or did you?", she wonders of the woman. "Look like skull!"
Not-a-Monster answers, "Ghisha's got somethin' belongs ta me an' I want it back." with a shrug, "Probably not official'n that regard." There's a glance to Irshya, "She does good things, too, Irsh." Braee says, nodding toward the Arvek.
"I was stillborn. It was my cowl. I added a few things." Ash says, touching at some of the silver piercings around the edges. Some of it seems to be make-up, but there is a base undercolour that is natural. The flowery designs and the non-grey colours seem like they might change. She thinks, blinks for a moment, that might have been a compliment. "Thanks."
Her attention turns towards Braelnoir, and she nods. She adjusts the shoulderstrap of her messenger satchel. Her voice is again, flat with each word carefully spoken. "I only know what she and the crow told me. She wants you dead."
"Oh.", the Gobbo says, her expression sad for a moment. "Irshya glad you made it. What Death's own name?" Glancing to Braelnoir, she nods. "Of course. Many gods do good things. Even if there is sadness."
There's a frown and, "I love her, too." Brae says grimly, "So... her talkin' ta you, that mean she's still on th'right side a'dead?" That'd give her a little something to go on, anyway, "An' her stealin' something o'mine... that gonna give her some hook to start throwin' some hoodoo on me?" She looks to Irshya and nods, "Yeah, most times." she says with a shrug.
"It's Ashlee Ciaradh, I prefer Ash. Thanks." the ashen arvec explains, looking down at Irshya. She's silent for a moment, there are necessary social niceities, "Good to meet you. What's your name?"
Then, Braelnoir's statements draw her attention. She looks over, listening intently. Staring and listening, these are her strongest skills. "She was haunting her crow. The crow found others to help. She was furious to have it. She was dead at the time, that may have changed. She didn't seek me out, I heard the crows talking when I was carrying my message."
"Ash! Irshya is happy to meet you." The Gobbo hops from foot to foot, her face pained momentarily, and she stands still. "What is Ash and Braelnaw talking about?", she wonders, looking from Ash to Braelnoir. "Someone want kill Brae?"
Braelnoir looks back to Ash, weighing her words and nods, "A'ight. Thank you." with some small disappointment in her tone. At Irshya's question, the merc nods with the sort of smirk that comes with gallows humor, "There's probably a list." then, a little more soberly, "She tortured someone important ta me, an' didn't like me makin'er pay for it." It's the short version, but, it'll do for now.
The ashen arvec nods again, listening to Braelnoir's explanation. "I didn't hear much more. The crow is her familiar. It seemed smart." She adjusts her feet.
"Irshya won't let someone hurt Braelnaw.", the Gobbo says, tapping the butt of her trident upon the stone beneath her feet. "Poke them with trident!" She huffs and then yawns suddenly. "Irshya go to sleep in her tub, okay, Brae?"
Braelnoir nods and reaches out to ruffle the goblin gently again, "Sure, Irsh, I should be back in a bit. I'll try an' be quiet so I don't wake ya." With that said, she looks to Ash again, "It was followin' me around fer a bit." she says with a shrug, "I got another question, though." her volume lowering some.
"Bye." Ash says to Irshya, the looks over at Braelnoir once more. She steps closer, and her presence is a little like being in a graveyard. Plus she has an excellent tombstone complexion. "Yes?"
The Gobbo eyes Braelnoir a moment. "Brae is good at being quiet.", she says with a smile. She turns to leave but slows a moment, giving the taller woman a worried look. Whatever she was to say, she withholds and turns once more to run off.
Braelnoir watches the goblin falter a moment, but, even as her eyebrow arches, Irshya is on her way. She clicks her tongue and turns her attention back to Ashes, here, there is something in her eyes, but, "Can ya talk t'someone that's been gone fer a while?" she asks, straight up.
"They find me. The ones that come, some have been gone for a while." Ash looks back at Braelnoir, her blinking in their dark sockets. "It can be easier if I go where they were. It doesn't sound like his death was close."
Braelnoir lowers her eyes a little, mulling that over and she nods, "A'ight... thank you, Ash." There's a look around for her favorite kinds of bird, then back to Ashlee's eyes.
Ash watches silently as Braelnoir looks down, around, then back at her. She hasn't moved. Her chocker does adjust position, rotating on its own about her neck. Her expression doesn't change but she says, "I'm sorry."
"I wanted to help." Ash says, adjusting her satchel again, then going quiet. Silence seems to be her thing. She glances in the direction of the Temple of Vardama, then back. Finally saying, "your hair is nice."
Braelnoir shrugs and nods, "That's... kinda o'ya, Ash." she says with an awkward little smile, then she follows the death touch soul's glance up toward the Grey Lady's temple and she turns back at the sudden sound of her compliment. "Oh, thank you! Used ta be black, but..." a shrug, "Lost m'hair fixing the not-a-monster thing... a pal offered me some concoction t'grow it back." She considers her skewer for a moment, then, "Getcha a beer?"
Ash seems to be thinking it over, and part of that includes a glance back towards her temple. She quiet a moment longer, then nods, "Yes." She looks ready to follow, and that seems to be her acknowledgement. Internally, she's struggling to think of conversations topics, most don't want to hear about the finer points of folding funery sheets. Finally, inspiration strikes, "Can you tell me the longer story you didn't tell Ishyra?"
Yes, that will do nicely.
