- Summary: It's evening at the Fernwood Pub, with Cryosanthia as the server. The weather outside is terrible, but that doesn't prevent several adventurers from arriving for a dinner of eel soup and discussion of recent events. Ezil and Caim discuss faiths, Faranmidahn and Tarragon discuss spider silk, the spice shortage and artificers are covered. How 'handsy' the pub patrons are, and sith tails are covered too. Finally Ezil and Cryosanthia catch each other up on their adventurers and talk about the new connections and friends they've made in Alexandria.

The common room of the Fernwood Pub dominates the inn, spacious and airy because of the high, vaulted ceiling. Ornately carved beams of dark, polished wood form a lattice overhead, supporting the arched roof two storeys above the floor. To the right of the double-door entry is a spiral staircase, winding upwards to a balcony that rings and overlooks the main area. Large windows at this level grant an excellent view of the river to the west and colorful market stalls to the north and east. An air of coziness is salvaged by keeping the pub dimly lit; parchment-shrouded mana lanterns hang at intervals from the base of the balcony, nestled amongst lush, magically propagated ivy and ferns that grow over this false demi-ceiling and the struts that support it.
The bar is sleek and simple, comprised of meticulously polished black lacquer. Tables are set under the darker niches formed by the balcony floor as well as on the balcony itself. A few are deliberately sized to accommodate halflings and gnomes, but the majority are meant for human-sized individuals. A large common table is on the main floor, set before a semi-circular stage situated against the western wall. Beside it, with pipes mounted upon the wall and running up past the balcony and almost to the ceiling, is a refurbished pipe organ made to look like the one lost when the Fernwood was destroyed during the Merkabah Siege.

It's evening in the Fernwood Pub. The weather outside is terrible, with icy rain, sleet, falling from a grey-black sky. The cobbles are slippery, the wind biting. Most Alexandrians have stayed in-doors. Fernwood Pub is for those who don't own doors in the city, and travellers and a few rugged locals are scattered about at tables. Overall though, business is light.
Ezil enters with a push of the door. A bundle is held under his arm, being wrapped tightly in cloth. As the door is pulled shut, he wipes his brow from the wet and cold shaking himself gently to dislodge the slush and wet from his clothes before crossing past the bar as he looks for a free table, and searching for a place to sit.
The door is once again drawn open, allowing a tiny woman in black some respite from the fallling sky outside. Faran, like many out in the weather is wet but not shivering as she steps aside from the door and stomps a couple of times to shake the slushy mess from the shaggy fluff shrouding her feet. That done to some internalized satisfaction, the Lucht pads with tiny slapping footfalls toward the bar to perhaps see someone about something to eat, and maybe drink.
Cryosanthia , the white-scaled sith-makar woman, is working as a server in the pub again tonight. A 'Fernwood Pub' apron covers her armour, and she is making small talk with the bartender and watching the crowd for orders. She's actually pretty terrible at spotting things, so some people have to work at it, at which point she launches at them in unbridled eagerness. She also sometimes does little dance steps while delivering the food.
She waves as the small woman approaches the bar, and points at the bartender, "He'll make anything you want." Cryo also waves at Ezil, heading over to his table.
Ezil throws himself into a chair in one of the free corners, his hand rising in greeting to Cryosanthia as he can't help but smirk. "Hello, White-One." he muses, looking then to that apron. "A small-beer?" he asks of her, casting a wink after. "Working late tonight?" his package set on the table, and his hand working to undo his cloak.
It's right about now that a red haired woman glides her way into the tavern. Strangely, those that are looking at her can see she's hovering about an inch off the floor. Just an inch. She doesn't seem to be too bothered by this...as she looks at the bar.....then looks to a stool. Not really paying attention to anyone else...yet.
Faranmidahn blinks up at the waitsith with glittering pink eyes and answers, "Peace to your nest, and thank you!" before continuing up to the bar, whence she spends a few moments scrabbling up in a pullup and really hopes the bartender notices her before her fingers give out, "Excuse me?"
An armored man enters the tavern, his helmet possessing a grim expression on it's faceplate. He makes his way over to Ezil's table and he moves to sit, the faceplate rising up to reveal the artificer. He smiles at Cryosanthia. "Heya. Got to eat eh?" He says to the woman as he looks to Ezil. "So I have a question, a divine question. Which god do you represent?"
It's cold out! Thus, well Kae needs to come inside!! That and she pretty much lives at the Fernwood..
The big elf-turned drake-taur looks around curiously, hands crossing under her chest...
Kae then grins broadly, and makes her way toward the fireplace, she finds an empty table and the goofball promptly occupies it, settling on her haunches with a dull fwoomp...
The bartender's eye is caught, he looks over at the little woman, "Yes ma'am, what would you like?"
Cryosanthia meanwhile, nods to Ezil, "Yes. It was light, building up a little. A small beer. I'll announce dinner in case you're interested."
She also gives a wave to Caim as he enters before stepping into an open space. "Hello all, welcome to the Fernwood Pub. Please seat yourselves. I'm Cryosanthia, your server for tonight. Tonight's meal is eel, cooked in a soup until it's jelly, and served over bread. There's not a lot of spices, on account of the shortage, but it is lightly salted. All the regular beers and ales are available."
Returning to the bar she makes a little bow to the small woman, "Peace be on your nest, hi!"
The shortage of spices catches the red head's attention. "Why is there a shortage of spices? Have the merchant caravans been attacked?"
Ezil notices that other Tsuran as he raises a hand to bid Caim to be quiet a moment. "I do not represent a god as much as I follow the stars and let Telmentar guide me." he says in a distracted voice. "She looked like one of my cousins." he muses, then dismissing whatever was on his mind.
"Was worried for a moment." Ezil chimes in a relieved tone. "How are you, Caim?" he asks, looking to Cryo then as she speaks of eel and calling after her, "Ya know what? I will try it. Send some of dinner too!" motioning back to Caim. "Want anything?" Tarragon's question earning a second glance, but no words.
Faranmidahn looks up through her visor at the fellow, "Hello, could I please have..." she trails off a moment as the sith explains the dining situation, "A bowl of that soup and a pint of ale, thank you!" With that, she drops back to the floor and starts wiggling her fingers to get the blood back into them.
Kae blinks at the mention of spices and stuff.. "Well chille spices, and the like are gone, peppercorn can be useful, though it's on short supply since well Chile's are pretty much gone... Savories and herbals are quite available to those that havn't used them all over the winter." She adds and then Kae waggles to those she knows, the drake-taur's tail wrapping around her forelegs as she waves happily!
"You know, the gobbers are up to something...Wouldnt surprise me if they somehow decided to earn more money by causing the shortage." Caim says as he watches Cryosanthia. "Sounds delicious. I will have a bowl of soup and a light beer. Dont like not being in control." He says as he looks to Ezil. "Cousin's pretty if she is your cousin." He says with a smirk
"Yes. Although not that. The goblins and hobgoblins are having some sort of cooking contest up north, and they've bought up everything. The caravans are fine, as far as I know." The white-scaled sith adds. Overhearing Faranmidahn's order, she lips in the back and retruns with a bowl of soup for her as the bartender gets the pint of ale for Franmidhan.
Into the kitchen, out again, a small-beer and bowl are delivered to Ezil. "Here you go. Hi Caim."
Cryo rearranges a few tables for Kaelyn, smiling at her, "Big meal, or bigger meal?"
Kae ummms "Biggun, not the biggest, I been having spicy noodles!" Kae says cheerfully... She also reaches into one of her saddle packs... "OOoh, so used teleporter, went a place and well here you goes!" She says happily and holds a couple bags out to Cryo... It's not got chilles, but it has peppercorn... Amongst other things... Like cinnamon, and clove, nutmeg, etc.. It's a small fortune in spices.
"My trade for foods!" She says happily....
Faranmidahn turns and spends a few moments looking the place over, trying to figure out a decent place to sit when the nice Sith lady brings her a bowl so quickly. "Thank you, miss!" A pause, "Miss? Ma'am?" Err, "Thank you!" and she starts to fiddle with her coin purse real quick to pay for the works.
Ezil smirks to Caim. "Nah, she's prettier than my cousin. Only way I knew it wasn't her." he jests, and takes up his small-beer. "Why do you ask about my deity, Caim?" curiously asked, a brow even raised. "Althea is the one who blesses me, but I just follow her star. It's... a strange relationship." he notes, sipping his drink, and letting his glance go back over the pub. "It's busy tonight... As it's supposed to be." he adds on last with a warm tone.
"You can sit with us, Lucht!" Ezil calls, seeing the woman's confusion and glances. "Cryosanthia will make another round, and she can get your coin then!"
"Interesting. Usually the ones that make the spices hold back some for cold weather such as this. Or someone forgot to put the spice in." the red head says quietly. "Cooked to a jelly. Strange." She then Chuckles. "Cooking contests. COme up with some really really good food....or horrible food." However, she's now uncomfortably close to Faranmidahn. ".....Spider silk?"
Cryosanthia is tall, with long limbs, a long neck and lengthy tail. She moves like a dancer, gracefully and very sinuously between the tables. She doesn't float _above_ the floor the way the red-haired Tsuran does, but even though she has very big-toed, big sith-makar feet, she is deft with them. She catches Faranmidahn's coin, "Thank you, Cryo is fine too."
"It's Chili. They're making Chili. With Gunpowder and everything. The hotter the better, and if it explodes too, I think that's part of the fun. So, horribly good food? And the eel flesh, once it's cooked, becomes very soft. There are some onions and carrots in it as well. It's good. The bread helps it keep texture."
Cryo swings over and takes the bags from Kaelyn, "Wow. Chef is going to love these! I'll get you a biggun meal then." Then the white lizard is heading back to the kitchen again.
Faranmidahn thinks she handled that rather well! She gets about a quarter turn when she's brought up short(hah) by the sudden redheading. "Pardon?" a moment to process as she looks down at herself and nods, "When I can get it, yes." A glance toward the considerate offer thrown her way then she raises her free hand and calls over, "Thank you, sir, just a moment!"
Kae beams cheerfully... "Prolly a good thing I collect spices!" She says happily, then waggles her arms in the air... "Eee! Soo much fun!" She happily adds and then lays her lower half down, now just occupying the table, what with her lower body laying down and all, this puts her kind of on level if she was sitting at a short chair or stool....
"IIIIIIINNNNNNNNNteresting." the red head says to Faranmidahn.....and the entire time, she does a clockwise 'turn' in the air. Literally turning her entire body upside down, then right side up as she says the word, while still looking at the spot on Faranmidahn. "Must be a very large spider to be able to use it's silk for clothing." She then floats a little higher. "thank you." She then chuckles. "Hope to see you again." And she floats out of the tavern...with her hair opening the door long before she gets there....and closing the door behind her.
"I am fine. I been speaking the engineers enclave." Caim says as he watches the female sith. "They provided a place to stay and upgrade my armors" He says as he watches Ezil next. "So you go where the stars lead you...so what do you do when you dont see stars? Do you wing it?"
Cryo comes out with two trays in time to see Tarragon upside down, and watches as she re-orients, then drifts out with the strange hair effects. "Oh. Wow. Spiders? And... bye?"
She swoops over to Kaelyn's table, setting down both trays, "I've got a third coming. Chef's heating the second kettle."
She drifts over to Ezil's table next, leaning against it and looking down at him and Caim. She casually scans the other patrons for a raised hand. A few that have been watching her, shoot theirs up immediately. "Ooops, couple more orders, back in a bit."
Kae beams at Cryo "Umm just bring the last one up to my room? It's the one at the end of the hall? The biggun." She says and lifts her plates "I'mma go read and study while I eats." She adds, the last time she studied down here while eating she soooo passed out and caused mayhem!
Kae then grins, puts money on the bar top, and tosses a tip to Cryo before rather nimbly, considering her bulk, navigating the stairs, she doesn't even knock anything over with that tail of hers... Maybe she's tired....
"Always winging it, Caim. I have tenets I follow.... but... yeah. I do what I can, as issues arise." Ezil muses, but as he hears Faranmidahn he laughs out right. "I have no title. Ezil. Call me Ezil." his smile broad as he sips his drink, motioning to it for Caim. "I don't drink anything too hard, and well.... discipline. Lots of discipline." though he doesn't seem to show much as he relaxes here, looking after Tarragon. "Definitely not my cousin. Only flying she did was when she tripped while dancing."
For Cryo, Ezil offers a nod, and a raised hand to bid her farewell as she makes her rounds. "She's getting better at this." speaking of the Sith-Makar.
"IF I didnt know any better I would say Cryosanthia has a talent being a serving wench." Caim says as he eats some of his soup. "So I been working on a few things. With luck I can test my gear in combat." He says as he eats. He then looks to cryo. "So how is work? Any handsy customers? good tips?"
Faranmidahn blinks, then shrugs and heads back to the bar to retrieve her ale, then, at last, begins to head over to the invitation she'd previously recieved.
"Sure thing Kae. It'll be about 15 minutes. I'll knock." Cryo calls back, circulating through the pub. Drinks and meals are delivered, coins are collected. She and the bartender exchange a nod.
She catches up, then kneels so she can be eye-level to Faranmidahn. She offers, "There's a couple tall chairs in back if you want me to bring one."
Still low, she looks over and up at Caim. "The tips are good. And honestly, my scales are thick. I'm only going to feel something if it stops or moves me. That said, a few have stepped on my tail. I don't like that."
Ezil sips his drink, still looking at the soup with a raised brow. As the Lucht comes to join them, he formally raises a hand and says, "Hello." offering the Faring Folk greeting(No one said it was extravagant). "You're welcome here. I am Ezil, and this here is Caim." motioning to the other man. "So, what of spider silk? I heard that much." he notes, but as Cryo speaks of her day, he sighs. "Did you step back, White-One? I'd not tolerate it if I had seen it." he states, and sets his drink aside, deciding then to try the eel and soup. "I don't much like the idea of it." still on about her tail, and stepping.
Faranmidahn nods and, "That would be nice, thank you, Cryo." she says warmly before finishing her trek to the table, "Hello, thank you for the invitation." She sets her ale, then soup on the table before taking her helm off and shaking out her hair. There's a lot of it, "I'm Faranmidahn, but Faran is fine, and you are?"
"IF you were to train yourself as an artificer, I can help you build your armor. You Could be the Iron Dragon, protector of all dragon kind and hoarder of loot." Caim says as he smiles at her. He shrugs. "Humans have no respect for tails. Its nothing personal, its just we are clumsy and step on strange things." He says with a smirk. "You know I am working on a device to add to my armor which will allow me to fly. Its a work in progress." He says as he smiles at Faran. "Name's Caim." He says as he offers a gauntlet hand to the lucht
"I politely asked that they not do it again." The white sith says, rising to her full height, straightening her neck and adopting a good looming position. The edges of her lips curl up and she smiles, opening her long mouth, full of very pointed and wicked teeth. "I may have lifted a couple up to my eye level. To be polite, so I'm not looking down on them."
She laughs at Caim, "that is attractive, but I would be a statue in a metal shell. I am best when I can squiggle about. Very few sith can match my flexibility, I'm rather determined to keep at it. Now flying, yes. Oh! And I owe you a free dinner, for the boots. Coming up."
Back and forth, Chair. Back and forth, dinner for Caim. "Whew. Another small-beer Ezil?"
"It's true, humans step on my hair all the time. But so do Oruchs, Arvek, one half-elf..." The little pale one ammends, "Though I'm usually lucky if that's all they step on." As the chair arrives, another, "Thank you!" is forthcoming and she busies herself with getting up into it.
Caim finishes his soup and he downs his beer and he looks to Cryosanthia. "How about next time. I am pretty full. In the mean time, your welcome at my place. Ask the engineer's enclave where to find me." He says as he begins to head out, lowering his face plate and walks into the rain.
Ezil nods as he hears Cryo speak of small-beer. "I'll take another." swallowing as he takes a second bite of stew. "It is different. These eels don't taste the same." he says, something about the dinner seeming to be bothering him. "I wonder if fresh water, or salt water eel changes the taste." he notes, looking up to Fara as she speaks, blinking. "That's actually hair? I thought... well... wow." leaving his surprise there. "It's rather long and wild." he muses a bit, and raising a hand to bid Caim farewell. "Be well, Caim!" he calls after him.
"My tailtip is sensitive," She explains further, although there is a big 'relatively' attached to that. She taps at her lower back with her finger, "and a sudden, explosive burst of pain right here as my tail stops and I keep going is not appreciated. Still, only a couple times, like I said. Ok, bye Caim"
"Small-beer, coming up." Cryo is a blur to the bar, returning with a drink.
"I guess this one is mine then, since I bought it." She tells the bartender, "I'm on break!"
"Oh wow, Faran is it? That's hair. And I imagine it and you might get stepped on. Scales, your view must be horrid sometimes." Caim has disconnected.
Faranmidahn blushes a little, "Mostly with my visor down, but sometimes windy days can be difficult." she concedes. Ahem, "It's not common, but it crops up from time to time." this is said to Ezil. She blows on her spoonful of soup then gives it a try. Hmm.. Round two.. "Usually I have Torrent with me, and the crowds usually open up around us so being stepped on is less of an issue."
Ezil raises a brow. "Who's Torrent?" he asks, talking inbetween bites. "You know, it's not so bad, but the eel does taste different." still hungup on that now, looking to Cryosanthia as she joins them with her newly acquired drink. "It's good you get breaks, White-One. You work hard." he notes, taking his package from the table, and setting it against himself and his chair.
Cryosanthia slides herself onto the bench, her tail draping beside her and along it, keeping it off the floor. She pulls her bowl closer and takes a spoonful of the eel. She doesn't chew, only takes the spoon in her mouth, licks it all with her tongue and swallows, careful to do most of this with her nose dipped so her maw isn't on display. "I was wondering that too. Is it a horse or a wolf? It's horses right, that humans usually ride? We ride lizards, I know you don't ride giant simians."
She reaches out her arms and taps her hand teasingly near Ezil. "I mostly do this for fun, to meet people. What's that?"
Then the white-sith looks over at Faran, awaiting the answer.
"He's my best friend!" Faran replies happily, "He's a Spider, he looks like a Hunstman spider, but he's about the size of those herding dogs humans keep, but his legs are really long, and he's all black and shiney."
Ezil looks to Cryo, and then to Faran with a glance of disbelief. "He's that big?" he seems skeptical, but he seems to wash his doubts away with a drink of that new small-beer. "I can see why you didn't bring him in. I'd of thought it was...well, not friendly." finding some mirth there.
"As for this?" Ezil's hand motioning to the package. "It's a scimitar. I had it made at the forge just across from here." "Oh that sounds terrifyingly delightful." Cryo says, her mouth in a wide grin. She puts another spoonful of soup into it. Swallows, "Mmmf. We have big ones like that in the jungle. Maybe not that big, but... big bugs. Bigger bugs eating the big bugs."
"Oh a new scimitar? Show! Show! That's the masterwork weapon you were talking about?"
Faranmidahn nods, "We grew up in the Desolation." she replies. She takes another couple of spoonfuls of her soup, "Taking him where there's a lot of movement isn't the best idea, I'm still getting him used to being in the city at all." She looks between the two now as the talk becomes swords, "Isn't a scimitar the one that has that really wavy blade?"
"Master Walery made it." Ezil says, picking it up, and undoing the leather tie on his cloth bundle. Inside is a rather normal looking scimitar, though yes, the kind with a wavy blade. "I had thought to replace my longsword, and commissioned this. It's the same kind of weapon really, just a bit shorter, and a bit easier to... maim with." wincing at his last words. "I don't really know what I was thinking." he admits, trying to smile as he offers it to Cryosanthia to hold. "It's lighter, and far more balanced than any blade I have had, but we'll see if it's right for me."
Cryosanthia takes it, her long scaley fingers closing around the handle. She pulls it close then, extends it along the other side of the bench, looking along its length, "Oh it is nice. Heavier than my rapier... but a nice swish. This feels good. Well if you don't like it, I'm interested."
She does a few rotations with her wrist, watching the tip, "not bad, not bad."
She hands it back, standing, moving kitchen-wards, "I've got to run Kae's food upstairs, but I'll be back to finish. I'm curious about the Desolation, so I might ask questions about that when I get back."
Ezil puts the scimitar away, but now at his side. As Faranmidahn goes her way, and Cryosanthia goes about taking care of final orders, he just shrugs. "It's been a good, and quiet night." eyeing the finished bowl of eel. "Not that bad really." talking to himself as he finishes his small-ale with a few gulps, and just rests in his seat, watching the pub.
It's a little more than a quick trip. Delivering Kaelyn's food to her room is swift, but then the elf-drake-taur wants to talk and being polite takes a few minutes. Once Cryo is back down, the other pub patrons want refills, more food, short banter before giving up a tip. When the white-scaled sith finally returns, the Lucht woman has left and her food has gone cold.
Cold food isn't a big concern for the white lizard though, so she keeps eating. "Missed her. She seemed nice. Oh! I've got some info. I gave the Chalice to Svarshan, he's one of the great sith-makar. He said it could be dangerous even if it wasn't magical. Also that things demons use can hurt them. He's going to encase it in lead. Sad really."
Ezil nods his head, listening to Cryosanthia as she speaks. He had watched her make her rounds, and as she settles once more, he waits for her to finish before he speaks. "It is, but I understand the concern. Merek shared with us some things that has me worried, but at least they are working against the Shard Tower too." his sigh coming as he shifts in his seat, shaking his head before he continues. "I don't like any of this situation. Not to mention I spent all day reading in the guild record hall. That ghost I saw is connected to a man murdered by a mercenary bad called The Frostmantles. That issue... is not related to Eclavadran or Jerboba thankfully."
"Svarshan wants me to tell him everything I know about the demons. I'd like you to come along because you remember it more. Also he might be able to do something for Jerboba... although he might eat him." Cryo continues, taking mouthfuls of her soup, leaning low as she eats. "The Frostmantles sound interesting. I've been busy in Mictlan with some speaker training, but if you need another blade to go after them, I'm interested. Especially if they have cold magic things. Did the records say why he was murdered, what sort of person was he in life?"
"See, that's the issue. All the records were outsourced and incomplete. We have a place to investigate, but we don't know when we will depart. We're hoping to see this ghost again, but..." Ezil explains, sighing. "It's slow going, but I will let you know more when I do." he assures, looking to Cryosanthia with a small smile. "I can speak to Svarshan if you'd like, but some people think what I did was very foolish, while.... others think it was smart. I think I let someone's words get in my head, and not yours." he muses in jest. "So, how's the tail? Any pain?"
Cryosanthia rocks herself in her seat, coiling her tail around to the other side, gathering a length of it up in her arms, and massaging the tapered end. "It's ok, no pain. Thanks for asking. I'm pretty hard on it myself sometimes."
She holds it closer, examining her scales individually, tapping at them and feeling their edges with a thick fingernail. "I would like. I want to be sure he's not going to break your promise for you first. Shaman Geir, and Zeke and Iuitl, are also aware and might help... although I think I told you, I think Iuitl's solution is to turn him into a chicken. Here's hoping you see your ghost again."
Ezil smirks, nodding his head. "I can't let harm fall to Jerboba, but he has made good on his end and behaved... for now." he admits, looking at that tail with a shake of his head. "Thank you for helping with Zak. I never said it properly, but I was in a tough spot, and the people I was working with all threw the kid under the cart, ya know?" he says, thinking about the topic of demons. "You're good to me, and I want you to know I've noticed you for it. Thank you, White-One. I wish I could repay you for it more than with words."
"This one felt for the youngling. I have been there, with no hope. From words I thought him some little packet of a monster, but when I saw him, smelt him..." She lowers her head, closes her eyes, shakes it from side to side, shaking off something... "I had to help him. I will make good on what I said, go to his village, put on a show. I've thought I can get a paper cup and fill it with some paper chits, and with some slight of hand and blowing make it seem like a breath weapon. And some fireworks and stuff. I'm glad to have come along. The opportunity to advocate, it's what Speakers do. It's... it's great. To feel my instincts aren't wrong. That I'm moving right. And Jerboba, we'll figure that out too."
Ezil nods to Cryosanthia's words. "I still thank you for it." he notes, sitting back in his seat, and closing his eyes. "I am glad the temples took the boy in, maybe he has a chance at something now, but for Jerboba? I do what Telmentar asks, but I don't think he will change his ways once he's home. Devil's have a bit of honor to them. They care about certain things, unlike demons. However, it's a toss of the dice. I mean, my people like to gamble, and this time we may have one. I'm still going to be more careful in the future." eyes opening as he offers a smile. "So, have anyone special in your life?" changing the subject. "Any male Sith-Makar catch your eye?" he tries to tease, but waves it off. "Sorry, I just... I am tired of demons tonight. This matter is getting to me."
"Ha! No!" Cryosanthia laughs, leaning back. "Well, maybe. Zeke is a blue sith, and has two limbs made of sapphire crystal. He is very studious, we argued. I met his brood-mother. She is a terrormaw. He is eye-catching, but did not catch mine in the way you mean. I'm not ready for egg-laying and only think about it..."
She waves her hand around in the air, fingers pulling, "... when it's the season to think about it. Humans have the season all the time, yes? Must be distracting. They are... their roles? Their Castes, to me. I think about scale colour too, if it is solely colour or deeper draconic nature, how that changes the thoughts. The white dragons, they are chaotic, and evil, and I am quite chaotic too."
Ezil laughs and shakes his head. "It's not as bad with humans as some talk." looking to Cryosanthia with a wink. "I've not seen anyone really to catch my eye, but that's because I have.... the doors weren't kind in images they showed me when I was married." he adds with a hushed tone, his brow furrowing. "I get support and love enough from you and others that I don't often think of it."
"I'm still glad you have close relations with the other Sith-Makar. I tend to..." Ezil's face showing his hesitation with his words. "I tend to be the All-Friend, Cryosanthia." using her name. "I've traveled a long while by myself, and I am not comfortable when others are too close. More so the ones that remind me of the doors."
The white-scaled sith grins, "We do talk. So, Friend-to-All can mean no friends at all, as all are equal? Hopefully this one was not behind a door, so the path is unknown. I do wish a family for you, don't believe all the things you have seen."
She brings her hands in, placing one of top of the other, her neck cured forward, putting her head and face closer, above them. She's still and breathing, her eyes focused and inscruitable, with her pupils thin and the pale sapphire shades disappearing into depths. Her breath is always cool. "I know that desire to keep ones distant. To not be hurt by a loss again. To not be a curse that brings itself on friends. I wondered if I was sent here because I was somehow a danger to Am'shere, but I believe now it was because I needed more distance from what I knew, so I could find how to be close again. I have new family in Mictlan, I am accepted, but I have friends and family here in Alexandria too. You. Merek. Garret. Kaelyn. Perhaps Mikilos... others. Bonds I have not had in a long while."
"Even Azog, with his tests of friends!" She laughs, "Many new to hold in my mind."
Ezil nods once. "It is good to have people that we can count on. Merek and Mikilos are good to me, and Garrett is not what he tries to appear. He is gruff, but kind. No darkness from him, despite what he wants others to think." letting out a sigh, but as he sits forward he looks to Cryosanthia, watching as she gains her focus. "I met others, like Seldan... Seldan is kind. There are also other Tsuran's like me who left the Faring Ways, and that makes it feel more tolerable. I'm not the only one to choose to be an outsider." he notes, shrugging. "You're the one I would call my closest friend in Alexandria. We are worlds apart, but I just like the comfort I feel when near you. No judgement, or weights."
"Thanks. Many things are new to me. I'm open, and been trained to be open. I'm aware the sith-makar are considered ... 'stuffy'. It is more, we are precise. Our language, our way of speaking, there are not the human 'weasel words', that qualify or add doubt. We say, 'this one' or 'this thing', 'is', something. Not, 'I think I believe this might be'. This one is not a judge," Cryosanthia taps her chest with a finger, "so I do not. I am glad to be comfortable. I still do hope you find more friends, and to be a best friend is an honour. That I will not forget. I will give you a scale, when a good one comes off."
"Is that what Sith-Makar do?" Ezil asks curiously, nodding his head. "I'd make a necklace of it. That or if you wouldn't be offended, us it for a dangler." speaking of the ribbons of color that hang off his belt. "Though I should check on Jerboba soon. He will probably want something." he muses, looking again around the room. "I will find all sorts of friends, White-One. I am the All-Friend after all. It's what I do. Protect, serve, and help. It's what all should do." winking as he stands. "I worry about you too though. You rush in, and dart between demons and devils alike in battle. I didn't just get my new sword. I got you this." taking a potion from a sack on his belt. "I won't always be there when you have to fight. I can only do so much, but you having this makes me feel safer." setting the small potion of healing for the Sith-Makar to take. "I have a 'friend' to check on... but tomorrow let's go on a walk. Yeah?" leaving things there as he turns to head towards his room.
"Oh! Oh thank you Ezil. I will keep this safe." Cryosanthia blinks, a startled. "I will, be careful about rushing in, but. Sometimes I run at my fears. And use human words with doubt. Take him some soup, but let it be cold, because he's been bad. A walk tomorrow sounds wonderful. I will finish up here."
"And yes... we give scales to those we want to remember us. I have some." She touches a small pouch around her neck.
Ezil pauses as he hears her words about scales. "Of course I'd want to remember you." he muses. "Good night, White-One." ordering that soup before he leaves, but also ordering for it to sit for a bit. It's good advice. Who said a demon has to always be comfortable? Cold soup is not the end of the world.
