- Summary: Ezil summons Cryosanthia to the Wayfarer's inn where he catches her up the new information he has received. Cryo lets him know she's found a few sith who might be able to help, although she has been distracted and didn't ask them all the questions she should. Kaelyn arrives, having gotten lost in the woods, and then Merek who is covered in blood. He has returned from a village where the Fae were trying to corrupt a child, adding more details to the web of the Fae Queen.

The inn's main room is large yet cosy, with plaster walls and a low ceiling supported by sturdy oaken beams. The decor is sparse: there's little other furniture save for a few rough-hewn wooden tables and chairs, and the only real object of 'ornamentation' is the large, moth-eaten moose head that's set above the kitchen door at the far end of the room. Still, the inn is pleasant in a simple, rustic way, and the delicious smell of food cooking makes it all the more inviting; the place seems to be more of a restaurant than a tavern, and a bar is nowhere in sight.
The innkeeper's counter sits in the east corner, within a few paces of the main entrance. Behind the counter is a small storeroom where one can purchase traveling supplies. The west corner of the room is occupied by a spiral staircase that leads to the second storey.

The sky is overcast and the weather, while not snowing, is still overcast and wet. Ezil sits at a table near the hearth, that same wet having mucked his boots with the mud of the road. He sits and waits, having sent a messenger to Mictlan to deliver a letter to Cryosanthia, asking the Sith-Makar to meet him here. He looks tired, but a meal sits about half-eaten before him, and a small beer sits with a bit of froth still sitting at its top.
The letter was received. As requested, she has come. The white sith-makar ducks her head in through the door and looks around. Spotting Ezil, she moves over to his table. She moves the bench back enough that she can fit her self in. She tucks her knees together and lets her feet stretch to the sides. She sets her hands on the table, the knuckles look scuffed and dark. "Hey, are you OK?"
Ezil stands as Cryo draws near, offering a raised hand and a smile. "Hello, White-One." he says with a small smile as he watches her sit and get situated before taking his own seat once more. "I am... fairly okay. I have our 'friend' confined to an inn room, but I managed to find out a lot of things about him, and the man he serves." he offers, flagging down a waitress as he looks to the Sith-Makar with a wink. "Let me get you something. You met me here on a whim, and that deserves something from me, yes?"
Cryosanthia takes out a small bundle and sets it on the table. She also is carrying a chalice, in her hand. She sets that on the table also. She undoes the bundle and takes out some bread, meats and dried fruit. There's a bite out of the loaf. "Garrett brought this for me. We could share some of it. I would enjoy a small-beer. Unless there is fare here you really recommend."
Ezil shake his head, smirking. "No recommendations. I don't drink much, so I stick to the... watery stuff." he admits, raising a hand to flag a member of the waitstaff to place that order, waiting till the extra ear is gone to speak. "I don't know how that chalice works, but... can we put it away for this discussion? I don't want ears for what I had to share." seeming to fear the device might still be active, an apologetic glance given before he looks to the dried fruit and meats. "And Thank you, the stew here wasn't that great."
Cryosanthia nods, looking at the chalice. She takes the cloth her food was wrapped in, and bundles it up then sticks it under the bench. Her tail rests against it, so she can keep track of it. "I should get a bag. I've had it in my hand or my belt the entire time. I was wondering where Jerboboa got to." She reaches for a piece of fruit, and chomp swallows it.
Ezil takes a piece of fruit himself, nodding. "He has proven stubborn." his words casual as he pops that treat in to his mouth, chewing for a brief moment before he tries to continue. "I found...".
"Blessed Follower of the Stars I'm sorry.." Cryosanthia says, interrupting Ezil.
She pauses, "You go first."
Ezil chuckles, his smile broad as Cryosanthia tries to apologize. "What are you apologizing for?" his matter dropped for the moment. "White-One, I do not regret my actions, not anymore. Is that what this is about?" wanting to sort this misconception, if that's what she means.
"Yes. You listened to me, and a bad thing happened." The white sith-makar turns her head, staring off at the side of the bar, "Others have listened to me, and bad things happened. I am a Speaker, not a tactician. My words broke trail into a trap for you. This one regrets speaking."
Ezil shakes his head softly, a hand reaching to pat hers, giving it a caress even if his thin flesh offers little comfort. "It may not of been a bad thing. What the others said is for them to think. I have a different opinion of what happened." he offers, giving her hand a squeeze before he continues. "I learned much about Jerboba, and Eclavdran, and recruited a powerful friend to help. I wanted to share with you what I know, because the news is not good for any of us, but it is better to know than wonder, yes?"
"This one is still unsettled." Cryosanthia takes up a piece of dried meat, duck, with a dried glaze that might once have been gravy. To savour this she bites the strip and tears it, shreds it further with her tongue, swallows. Bites again, shreds, swallows. The final piece she chomps down with less fanfare. "The advice I gave you nights ago, this one should heed. I know. That the past has happened, and learn. This past has already happened, and I've not learned. I have told others what transpired, help has been offered, though I am not sure of what sort."
And here's Kaelyn! She's got sticks in her hair, she's trying to tug free, there's a branch kind of hung up in her harness, and she looks a little bedraggled.... The elf-drake-taur, then siiighs as she enters, and looks around, and no no tables go flying this time... She mutters to her self as she kind of slow-walks to one of the tables and does a biiiig quardopedal type flop...
Wheere, she promptly flails, mutters, rolls over and starts trying to get the sticks out of her harness and stuff!!! Ezil looks up as Kaelyn enters, his hand giving one more reassuring pat to Cryosanthia before he speaks. "Are you okay Kaelyn?" he asks, watching for an instant before answering to Cryosanthia's news. "That is good, I have arranged a few things for Jerboba, but other plans are nice to have. Thank you, I thought you might be more upset with me than... well... I didn't think you would come." he admits. "Though my news, it's not good."
"Peace be upon your nest," Cryosanthia says, raising a hand high in greeting. She watches the elf-drake-taur work on her harness for a moment, then her snout returns to pointing at Ezil. There is a slight startle to her posture.
"This one would come! I would not abandon others... Not from my folly. Tell me the not good news." Her fingers dig into the surface of the table. All the tables are going to suffer tonight from lizard-kind it would seem.
Kae blinks and looks up and tilts her head "I'm fiiiiiiine!!! I got lost..." She says and shrugs... "On the way back from Mict, I forgot my map projector back at the inn, and I got loooost!" She says and pouts, puffing her cheeks out.. She really -doesnt- get out of town very often...
Ezil nods his head to Kae's words, motioning to their table. "Well when you're ready to get settled, we can make room for you." he offers, turning back to Cryosanthia and speaking plainly. "I was right. All of this is tied to that Shard Tower, and the Fae Queen. My source tells me that Eclavdran is one of the demons like Yukia whom is in her services, though he was thought to have... been silent." he starts. "He was behind the attempted theft of the Ancient Spark, and then the unnatural events we witnessed with the celestial of Vardama." not sugar-coating the bits of knowledge. "It means we are dealing with some powerful foes, and that things run far deeper than many knew."
"This one will show you the way back." Cryosanthia says, with a smile that shows the tips of her teeth. "The snow disguises the ways."
"This is good information." Cryo nods, taking in the information. She no longer has a death grip on the table. She takes a long drink from her small-beer and breaks off a piece of bread, "What is the source? Mikilos? He needs to know what the Claw of the Death Singing Dragon said. So many demons, we shall have a Duke or Prince or Queen each."
Kae blinkblinks... "It soo isn't going from here back into town,t hat's just the path south! Lotsa folk go that way, sooo yeah, it was MIctlant o here!" She says and siiiighs "No discertation for meeee!" She puffer her cheeks again and takes a big looooooong sigh, she's got huge lungs, then pauses kind of 3/4 of the way through the sigh.. "Wait, I didn't have to give the discertation, Yaaay!"
Another pause "Wait, it means I gotta do it later!" NOw she's puffing her cheeks out again.
Ezil laughs at Cryosanthia, nodding his head. "It was indeed Mikilos who is helping me." he affirms, shaking his head. "That is an amazing guess, White-One." amused as he continues, though his eyes are cast to Kae. "Mikilos is no stranger to demons, and it is already known there are many coming from the Shard Tower, but no one knows the exact number. We just know this will continue until the Fae Queen is stopped." finally speaking to Kae with a small smirk still on his face. "What dissertation are you talking about?" a bit lost on what the artificer means.
Cryosanthia giggles, listening to Kaelyn. "Your lecture to me was enjoyable. Think of the sad students that missed out." Wait! Better not, "There will be other times."
"I am helping him. I would speak with the Shamans of the Lady Grey on his behalf. Geir, is one. Iuitl follows the Unforgotten Dragon, but might have knowledge as well. I was... upset earlier, and didn't bring my questions. They have spells that might assist, to complete your vow or free you from the pact." Cryosanthia draws small swirls on the table top. The tattoos on her arm glow and her idly tracing leaves a permanent mark.
Kae blinks and umms 'Yus I was supposed to give a dissertation on the nature of this change thingie affecting me and a bunch of other folks." She says and finally gets to her feet, and then well here's the funny bit, ever seen a dragon imitate a dog shaking things off? Kae does it, purely instinctively, then flails when some of her things go flying out of her saddle bags! "Eeee!"
Ezil finds himself nodding to Cryosanthia's words, looking between the two for a moment. "It sounds interesting, though far above what I understand, but..." his words trailing off as when Kae shakes he just watches as those things in her bags are tossed, a grimace taking up his face. "Is that okay?" he gets out, shifting in his seat. "You sure you don't need help?" he asks, perching in his chair as he seems ready to stand at a word. It's Cryosanthia whom he darts a glance. "I will take help from any who can." not... "What did you just do? How had I not noticed the magic in your markings?" two very strange things stunning him.
Cryosanthia ducks a flying object, catches a second one as it flies past. Several others clatter to the ground around, out of range or moving too fast for the sith-makar to grab. Also she had meat in her other hand. She sets the device she caught on the table, chomps her meat, then leans and picks up all the devices that are near her. "It may be time for you cleaning spiders Kaelyn."
Kae blinks curiously and siighs, one of her bags scattered things... She then pulls out her little cleaning artifice, and pushes the button before setting it nearby... Of course little cleaning spiders come out and start gathering up her stuff... One even gets near Cryo and is making 'grabby' hands at what she has...
Merek makes his way into the Inn, covered in blood, which is demon as well as his blood, while he has that longcoat with the beltcape. He looks about, "Vodka," he says simply, to a server.
Ezil stands to help Kae, but as Merek enters, his attention shifts. "What in the hells happened to you, Merek!" he says, standing quickly and heading to the man. "Are you wounded?" the blood winning his attention for the moment, a skip given to avoid a few of the artifice spiders that have began to clean.
Cryo grins at the little spider bot, and hands the device she's holding to it. The little clicky things make her smile.
"Silver Scales!" She stands, scraping the bench, surging around the side of the table, "What happened?"
Kae blinks and digs through her pockets, then one of the spider bots brings what she's looking for... She nods at the little thing, though it doesn't understand the jesture. She then hits a button on it, and it turns into what looks like some kind of squeeky mallet? She blinks at Merek, and tosses the thingie to Ezil. "Just bonk em with that." she says cheerfully.

Merek looks between the people, while he takes the drink when he has that. A longspear has been sheathed upon the back, while he looks to Cryo, Kae, Ezil. "I am okay. We went to a... Routine mission for our Guild, it was some man who put us on a trial path for Alexandria's sake, where we fought a horde of demons coming for a kid amidst a village of fae."
Ezil winces, shaking his head. "Damnit. Another child? That makes three. Are you sure this was not Eclavdran's doing?" his tone worried, but at Merek's assurance, and demeanor he begins to calm. "This is troublesome. White-One and I ran in to a demon ourselves, and...." trailing off and looking to Cryosanthia. "I sad this wasn't good news, eh?"
"That sounds exactly like what the Blessed Follower of the Stars has been involved with. We did encounter a demon, after the morning Warrior practice, the guild sent us. The Village of Fae, is a new twist." Cryosanthia adds. She also catches the 'healing' hammer tossed by Kae, and just to be safe gives Merek a light bop on the head. She nods at Ezil, "The not good news grows, yes."
Kae grins, the squeeky mallet, gives a squeek, but also an Aooooooghaaaa! Kind of lik straight out of the Mask... Kae is soo happy with her inventions! It will however remove injuries on Merek!
Kae then blinks "Oooh that was soo one of the goofier ones I made after like going to town on 10 lb's of chocolate in like 3 days." She says and shrugs slowly.... "Ah well! I find it amusing enough"
Merek looks between the three, while he nods a bit. "I didn't know, will need to make sure Mikilos, Seldan, and Iuitl know. The kid escaped, although... I think she was beginning to turn to darkness. This is coming together, i---" a hammer, light it still makes the man look to Kae with a wiggle of his nose, then it's back to Cryo and Ezil, "Demons vanished? Were searching for a kid, was pretty intent on acquiring that target?"
Ezil tries not to laugh, a huff and a quick control of his tongue taken aback at the hammer and looking to Kae and Cryo in a bit of shock before continuing. "Yeah... the first kid I encountered was turning to darkness. I saw his aura." swallowing as he refrained from commenting on the boop. "The second child... I had uses a blessing to find him, and could not see his aura because of it, but this sounds like Eclavdran's work. Was there a relic somehow tied to this adventure too, Merek?" looking back to Cryo, and shaking his head, still trying to stifle a smile.
Cryosanthia hisses quiet laughter. The squeak, expected; the AWOOOGAH, not. So of course, she jumps. "It is not the Beeeg Boom, but it does startle. I see how it is 10 pounds of chocolate." She moves around Merek and hands the hammer back to Kaelyn. She sees Ezil's glance, no expression crosses her face. Her head swings to look at Merek. "He asks what I would."
Kae tilts her head and makes her way to where eeryone else is, she now getting a cider and some stew. She then lays down near the table, her body flopping over like some big scaly, long-tailed cat...
"There was not any relic, it was just an old elven man, that wanted us to find family," Merek admits, with a nod between the two, seeming to think about it. "He made it look like the villagers were ogres so we'd attempt to take the kid away. The kid, she was powerful, she merely killed every demon that cornered her, without even trying, from what I know. I hadn't seen it myself." He makes a face at Kae, "Anyway, I don't mean to bother you, I can be about my way to get cleaned up."
Ezil shakes his head at Merek. "You are not bothering, though this girl herself sounds unique and powerful." he says, sighing then, and looking back to the table. "Too much to talk of, too much to think on." his words a bit stressed as he looks to the where the inn's guest rooms lay. "I need to check on Jerboba." he finally admits. "I don't need him eating anyone before Mikilos can send him back." a glance spared to Cryosanthia. "Want to back me up?"
Cryo parks herself on the table, letting her legs and tail hang over the side. A foot brushes Kae's exposed underbelly, and then she rubs along it. The caravan lizards liked belly rubs as well and she does it without thinking. "Oh, My apologies Kaelyn."
"Yes, this one will help. Safe travels Merek, it is late to be about. I will be staying here over night." The white sith-makar moves across the table and retrieves the things she left at the other one. A vigilant eye might notice scuffs and a darkening of scales around the knuckles of her hands. "I am worn out from the thinking I have done so far today."
Kae grins and shrugs "Dun bother me a bit." she says to Cryo.. "Just gotta be careful about that, hit the wrong spot and it makes one of my back legs kick..." She says and shrugs... "I make really funny faces when I try to stop that from happening and it kinda hurts, like I have this nervous requirement to kick the leg some." She adds and then shrugs again... "Anyhooos, I'mma thinking of grabbing a room here, and then going in in the daylight so I don't like get lost.... again..."
Merek nods a bit to all of them, "We will figure it out, we will protect Alexandria," he says. Then adjusting that nice longcoat, he maneuvers to get a place to clean up with a nice drink.
Ezil nods, raising a hand in farewell to Merek. "If you need me, I am in a room at the end of the hall. Be well, Merek." he says, looking to Kae with a smile. "It might be a good idea. It's been a rough day for a lot of us." looking to Cryo, her hand, and then motioning towards the hall as he goes. "You really okay, White-One?" thinking she is to follow.
Cryosanthia laughs at Kae, "You can get up the stairs? You may have already claimed this as your room!"
To Merek, "We shall."
To Ezil, "This one is... ready." Her shoulders tighten and her tail goes still, "Yeah... ready anytime."
Kae grins cheerfully "Oh yeah, my room in the Fernwood is up stairs, so I got stairs early." She says cheerfully, and of course Kae is about to go up stairs when she's told they have fixed up a place in the stables... Kae stares a bit.... then huffs and sighs... She grumbles as she pulls a couple artifice things out of her pouches and well yeah, she's off to the stable, where of course she gets the biggest stall, there's even blankets a bunch of them, and well yeah.. Kae is sooo not happy!
