The sounds of spellcasting can be heard as the Voice vanishes from view to all eyes not tuned to seeing through this sort of thing.

He's just gone.

Meanwhile, the Solar's blade chsaes Kravar while he shoots arrows at Sophia, Durrankar, Thyrson and Kravar. All of them are too well protected to find purchase, this go around, but those arrows definitely seem deadly. He's gearing up to do some sort of magical effect, if the yellow-green light suffusing him is any indication.

The hell hounds crash into the lines of the priests and angels, spewing fire and blasting at them. They have some sucess in doing harm. The priests are able to hold out well enough, especially with the power of the Angelic host there to shetler them.

Backup should arrive anytime, right?

Astaren shakes his head, "My my..." thinking for a moment. With a tap of his rod weaves a spell with his hand and tosses a dispel magic towards the voice. Then turns towards the clashing hellhounds and chants quickly drawing blades with his fingers in the air. Then a snap, and a blade barrier forms to help hold off the hounds, while doign some good slicing and dicing.

The poor anklyosaur is a bit slow with his tail to tag one of the hounds, but Sophia spies the Voice now that Astaren makes him visible again. Narrowing her eyes, she invokes a surprisingly angry prayer to Althea, probably due to the blasphemy that's taking place in this most holy place. Suddenly, a column of azure fire erupts around the Voice, engulfing him in divine fire. While the Voice is still standing, he doesn't look terribly happy right now as Althea delivers a incendiary retort to his grand ideas.

     Whirlpool advances the initiative order.
     Round Two - Init 23.
     It is now Kravar's turn! Corrupted Solar is next!


The bat tle is now truly joined with the hounds cut to ribbons. Some of them may still make it through to the priests, but the angelic host and their cohorts are holding firm. Clearly, Asumit must have more up his sleeve...

Kravar plucks the Solar's latest arrow out of his chestplate. Blood splatters to the ground, along with the arrow which he drops with a clatter. The Solar's arrows are enchanted to be especially deadly to their target. Kravar raises his own bow. He sends a volley of arrows speeding back at the Solar but only a few hit. In an odd twist Kravar - who's fighting style normally revolves around brutalizing his enemies - uses arrows enchanted to subdue.

The dancing greatsword zooms out after Kravar, having followed him thus far. It swings mightiyl, biting into the warrior and leaving him badly wounded. He is fortunate, then,m tha t the arrows from the Solar bounce harmlessly off his armor.

Meanwhile, the Solar is screaming in rage, holding back his efforts and strugling mightily against the darkness that's controlling his actions.

Stirling may not have one of his arms but a titanic insectoid suit that formed around him more than makes up for that lack. Bursts of blue flame propel him forward across the ground to deliver a punishing punch at the VOice of Asumet.

There's a moment where the Voice moves away from Thyrson and things seem to hang. For just a moment. Then he's moving at a rapid pace, too rapid to follow, and his form again vanishes from view to most everyone. There's a brief cackle.

The hounds are held back by the blade barrier, in some caes, while others are ceaselessly launching themselves into the angels, wearing the host down a little bit at a time. Somehow, more are still arriving, as if summoned from the air itself.

ALl the same, it's no good.

GAME: Durrankar casts Heal. Caster Level: 16 DC: 24

Finally coming out of his 'haze', Durrankar moves his way up to Kravar...and places his hand on Kravar's back....where the human feels many of his wounds heal. "DOn't stop fighting...."

GAME: Thyrson casts Greater Dispel Magic. Caster Level: 16 DC: 25

GAME: Thyrson casts Glitterdust. Caster Level: 16 DC: 21

Thyrson incants again, hands twisting as he gives *tug* at the solar. Then he turns fractionally, looking irritated, as golden sparkles appear around the Voice's last known location, limning his form in light.

     It is now Priests' turn! Astaren is next!


The good news is that the Solar is still in the fight. No, wait. That's totally not good news.

Still, it stumbles a moment while the hounds are being cut to ribbons. The glittered Voice lets out a sigh of irritation as its covered in glitter and looks down at his hands. Truly, he must hate the stuff.

The priests and angels are busily fighting off the hounds, healing each other with waves of channelered positive enrgy, bolstered by thier presence hear in a realm that makes extensive use of the stuff. You are, after all, in /heaven/, a place of difficult to comprehend beauties and vistas of green fields and blue skies and towering cities and golden domes...

But in the meantie, the hounds are vaulting forward into the blade barrier. Those that survive are being bitten into by the priests and the angels, summariuly dispatched.

The voice presses his hand against the barrier before him, a bit like a mime trapped in a box. Who's actually trapped in a box.

GAME: Astaren rolls 15d6: (61): 61

GAME: Astaren casts Wall of Force. Caster Level: 16 DC: 22

Astaren shakes his head noticing how much Asumit is getting closer, and doing what he can to slow him down. With a wave of his hand a invisible barrier forms around Asumit. The man frowning as he looks around, scanning the battlefield for anything else that might be amiss.

GAME: Sophia casts Holy Smite. Caster Level: 10 DC: 21

Sophia's allied anklyosaur basically runs interference for the host, trying to smash hounds where he can. In this case, one unlucky hound runs smack into the massive swinging club-tail of the celestial dinosaur, knocking it back several feet.

Sophia, meanwhile, glares at the sparkly Voice of Asumit, then says simply, "You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found /wanting/." With that, she chants a prayer to Althea in the Celestial tongue, bright azure light engulfing the area around the trapped Voice as she unleashes the goddess' judgment on the villain.
