May 9, 2015 Log: Recovery Kyson and Godwyn Soldier's Defense

Having sent his familiar carrying a hastily written message to Godwyn, Kyson has only recently arrived at the Soldier's Defense. The apprentice is in rough shape. Wounds on his left side and his right calf have been bandaged and a large clawed-strike across his cheek seeps but does not bleed. He rests, currently, upon a floating platform of blue-white light about three feet off the ground.

Ah, there she is.

Godwyn strides into the building and, after a moment of searching, gasps at the condition of her recent charge. "Gods above!" She jogs over and reaches for notes on the young wizard's condition. As one of the acolytes hands them to her, she gives him a good once-over, brows curled upward and eyes slanted down, her mouth slightly open. "What... did this to you?"

Heavy eyes flutter awake as Kyson struggles to sit up slightly. "He found you..." His attempt to rise fails and he can do little but ease himself back to the shoulder bag he's used as a head rest. At his feet, stuck between his ankles, is another, pumpkin-sized sack full of collected herbs, clawfoot by the look of the leaves. The apprentice swallows dryly and glances up to the sight of the paladin who's come to aid. "A back of wild things within the felwood. They came upon us while gathering herbs for my master."

Godwyn takes in a breath and closes her eyes. "I certainly hope you at least gave as good as you got." She reaches into one of her pouches and withdrawls of all things, a vial of pale blue liquid. She uncorks the bottle and puts it to Kyson's lips. "Drink it. It's a far more potent potion than any spell I might have."

The fluid passes his lips and he swallows. The wash of healing power surges through his body and the wounds heal themselves almost instantly. Within a second, Kyson's eyes flutter open and he pushes himself up from the floating pad. "What was that?" he asks in a much more brighter, and more healthy tone.

Godwyn nods. "Prognosis is coming back positive. I think I've done all I can... but you still need rest." She steps back and folds her arms in front of her. "I swear, if I'm not there with you, you practically get yourself killed."

Godwyn places a hand on his right shoulder. "Easy, hatchling!" She chuckles and observes him for a brief moment.

Kyson pulls his feet from the end of the floating gurney and slides to the side so that he can dangle his legs off the edge. "Thank you..." he offers to the paladin, "I didn't know who else to contact." He reaches down to the large tear on the left side of his jerkin and then to the rip in his pants down by his calf. The wounds have been healed but the clothing is still in need of repair. "Korra - a warrior that my Master knows, was asked to accompany me. She killed the three of the...beasts."

She shrugged. "I can see that he still knows how to contact trustworthy people then." Godwyn moves to his 'bed' side again. "Right, what else have you been doing besides... well, that? Any progress on contacting House Merendil yet?"

Kyson nods, "I've gotten a message back. The lord of the house has agreed to see me when I present myself." Pushing himself off the floating disk and to his feet he wobbles a bit and reaches for the staff beside him to steady himself. "I was hoping that you would come with me..."

Godwyn places a hand on his right shoulder to steady him. "You... need bed rest. Do not speak to me of going anywhere until you've fully stabilized." She shakes her head. "I won't have you walking around half-healed, Kyson."

Kyson nods, "I appreciate your concern. Really, I do. It will take more than a simple trip through the portal to get to them too." He takes a big, deep breath and then relaxes his grip upon the staff. He's steadying - mostly. "They've relocated to one of the Myrrish states since the War took out most of their holdings in Rune. It will be a much longer journey - and now by Sea."

"Such is the way of things, hatchling." She chuckles at the draconic term. "I would not worry overmuch about it. You aren't an eldritch knight, nor a swordsman in your own right. If you would keep it, they would test your aptitude." She tilts her head to the right. "I could gladly help with that as well. For self-defense, of course."

Kyson hrms and looks to the carved, darkwood staff in his hand, "I...wouldn't even know how to hold a sword - let alone use one in combat." He looks up to the armored woman beside him, "But... that could come in useful - if you have the time."

The Sentinel smiles. "Then you will meet me tomorrow, when you are able, in the arena district. I will teach you everything that I know, everything I was taught, and everything I picked up. Perhaps then they will allow you to keep what is rightfully yours."

The wizardling nods and hefts his sacks to his shoulder while starting to trundle his way towards the door, the staff helping with his steps though he's no longer injured - just a bit dizzy. "I can only hope that I prove worthy of your instruction m'lady..."

Godwyn glances toward Kyson as he leaves. "That's just it, hatchling..." Her brows curl upward again. "...everyone is worthy of instruction, in one thing or another."
