Introduction to Plotrunning

Participating in plots and scenes, and running them, is at the heart of Emblem of Ea. You can find information, a sort of "getting started guide," here, as well as some resources and suggested pages in the wiki which you might find useful. Emblem of Ea awards XP and gold to its plotrunners, depending on the type of plot they run, also, and that information is here as well.

Getting Started with Plotrunning

Step One: Step into the Theme

First, you should familiarize yourself with our setting. Tenebrae writes its setting with an ease of learning in mind, so you may recognize familiar concepts and ideals. In some ways, it should feel like "coming home," and this is our ideal. However, there are no ninjas, so please look around.

Step Two: Read the PrP Policy

We ask, basically, that players treat one another fairly, and that +rolls be made in public. A more indepth explination of the PrP Policies are available. This also gives a rundown on XP Rewards, and so on.

Step Three: Run your plot!

Plots are generally announced through +bbread 9, so feel free to make use of it. Some plotrunners prefer to just do an announcement in the OOC Room, and both are okay. Posting ahead of time can give more people time to participate, while an announcement can be better for more spur-of-the-moment runners.

Step Four: Submit the plot to staff

Send in a +request with a summary of your plot and who was involved. Be sure to include:

   * Character levels at the time of scene
   * DC on/off
   * CRs of encounters
   * Anything else you feel the staff should know, such as a character needing a cure for mummy rot

Once a staffer takes the +request, you can email him or her a copy of the log, which should include any +rolls. Alternately, you can Recent_Logs.

Running Plots in Areas Beyond the Core Setting

...is certainly encouraged. Check our our Nations section. Some sections will have a "Plot Information" section that's usable by plotrunners and GMs alike. If there's no Plot Information section, feel free to make a guess, or question a GM. Our theme is structured around familiar concepts and ideals, and should feel alot like "coming home" in some senses.
