Yngvild after some ale and possibly a cleansing bar brawl or so is back in her adventuring kit. Full plate, gleaming earthshatter, pack and belt of runescrolls. She seems cheerfull enough as she stomps along "So..." she rumbles to those around her "..any locals know anything about this 'haunted' place?" she asks.
Flicker has never heard of or ever seen a haunted playhouse, nor really did she get that it was more like a place that plays are done and not where people play. Well not that her happy go, bubbly attitude shows as she skips up and then around where the guildies where supposed to meet at, "I wonder if we will see some real ghosts! But no I don't know nothing about it yet."
When there's something strange in your neighbourhood theatre, who're you gonna call? Well, apparently Eluna's Silver Guard is one of them, as they've sent a representative: Faiza Belvade, as the redheaded shadow elf introduces herself as. She looks the part too, all gleamingly polished breastplate and shiny silver crescent symbol. Aside from the whole 'shadow elf' bit, that is. "I've been... remiss in attending playhouses of late," she admits, Charn obvious in her accent though somewhat polished off in favour of a more Alexandrian pronunciation. "I've seen haunted crypts, battlegrounds, and in one particularly memorable instance, a kitchen, but this is a first for me." Luminous red eyes narrow in thought.

<OOC> Faiza says, "Gotcha."
<OOC> Bahken waits on Bella's pose...
Belladona comes late to the party as she still gets turned around in the city. She ahs as she finally finds the place, "Here we are Samafa." She says as she looks around at the others, "Hello there, here to help with the haunting?" She asks as Samafa stretches out and prowls around a bit.
The meeting spot, outside of Ye Olde Playhouse is in an area that's steadily getting worse without the business and the glamour that once likely accompanied the abandoned theater. One of the double doors is shut, the other is hanging off its hinges, and there's a musty air coming from the theater. There's also a visible alleyway running around the building to the side.
<OOC> Faiza says, "Iiii'm going to be pinging Detect Evil at regular intervals. You know. Just to be on the safe side."
<OOC> Faiza, not paranoid at all, no sir.
Yngvild looks around at the others, her ice blues perhaps a little keener than her rougha nd ready manner may indicate "Yngvild Bjornsdottir, known as Bloodmane. Warrior of Angoron" she says in her powerful voice with a smile curving under her helm "Shall we?" she says with a nod to the broken doors.
<OOC> Flicker says, "Might note does the same with Detect Magic."
<OOC> Yngvild says, "Hmm not sure Bob Marley is the best music for ghost busting :P"
"Well. No time like the present, I suppose?" says the redheaded Mul'niessa, taking her shield off the hooks on the back of her breastplate and fastening it to her right arm. She doesn't draw her sword quite yet, though. "If any of you have any preparations to make before we head in, might be a good idea to do it before we, uh, go in." She smiles suddenly, bright white teeth startling against all that dark skin. "No fear. The Sky-Singer watches over us." It's spoken with such confidence - and such a gleam of that silver moon on that bright, bright breastplate - it's oddly reassuring. Of course, the sight of the solid steel of her blade as Faiza draws her sword is probably even more reassuring. She looks like she knows how to use it.
<OOC> Faiza says, "+4 to resist fear effects as long as you're within 10' of me, etc."
Flicker seems to be happy to be there and skips around a little more, "Flicker... Though all I call myself. Daddy calls me Princess, but then he's an important gobber chieftain." She seems very ready to get to finding out if there are really ghosts or what it is haunting the place. "We going to bust in and say. Put em up ghosties... you don't get the be here anymore." She pulls her Dragonspitter and makes like a gun fight is going to happen, "Pew pew... Bam!" The holsters it and looks quite smug and tough looking in a pose.

Belladona nods to the others, "Hello I'm Essence Belladona of the Earth Warders and this is my companion Samafa." She looks over the building, "So are we going to go right in or are we going to scout out the outside first?"
Yngvild eyes the goblin and the Mul, luckily much of her sceptical expression is hidden behind a full faced helm. She lets out a slow breath as one hand reaches for her holy symbol "ANGORON!" she bellows in her usual manner of prayer "BLESS US AS WE STEP INTO BATTLE" she calls out as a bright blue glow shines from her eyes to engulf those around her. With that she looks to Bella and shrugs "Anyone know how to spot a trap?" she asks then peers at the obvious entrances curiously.
<OOC> Faiza typically spots a trap with her feet. *click* "Oh dear..."
<OOC> Flicker probably would have most magical ones covered with detect magic. It's her witchy second sight. :P
Faiza, for her part, appears... curiously cheered up by the loud proclamation. She even grins vaguely in Yngvild's direction before raising her shield into a ready stance, squaring her shoulders, and... well, stepping into the opening made by the door hanging off its hinges. "The light of the Silver Moon shine upon this place," she announces confidently, "and drive off any lurking evil." She pauses, and adds, "And if you're just people squatting in the building, you'd best clear out. Just saying."
<OOC> Bahken says, "Faiza are you actually casting light?"
<OOC> Faiza says, "No, it's a metaphorical kind of light."
<OOC> Bahken says, "Kay, Yng I think is the only one who can't see then"
<OOC> Faiza says, "I've got Darkvision, anyway."
The lobby itself is quite empty. What used to be curtains to the main theater have long since deteriorated. There are two paths leading to two aisles. There is also a staircase leading up to to a balcony. The concessions counter has long ago ceased to be. The wallpaper is faded and torn and there's a rather unpleasant odor, a kind of rank mildewy smell permeating everything.
Belladona hmms, "I guess we are going right in." She gets her shield and claws out, "Come on Samafa." She says as she heads in with the others with Samafa close behind her. She looks around and wrinkles her nose.
Flicker dance around following Fiaza even as eh nears for a but and makes a small inscription with her finger to the metal armor she wears, an infusion of mental strength and a soft glow makes the armor much more shiny than before. "There... I like the hard shelled people. They tend to keep me safe." And even so, it was Godwyn the first time she had gone out that had done that and made an impression. "You protect me I'll help protect you." She winks and dances around the middle of the group, Samafa gets her attention for a bit and she comes over to pet the cat. That's when Douse her pet Centipede peaks out and chirrs like he is trying to protect Flicker, isn't it cute.
"LIGHT" Yngvild calls out and indeed as she does a bright blue light beams out from her holy symbol so that the large human isn't stumbling around blind in the darkness. That done she takes a carved stone from her belt in one hand and a grip on her hammer with the other.

"Charming. Really," says Faiza, grimacing slightly at the mildewy smell. "But looking thoroughly un-haunted, so far." The Elunan paladin raises her voice. "If there's anyone in here, we've come to clear the place out for the owners. We mean no harm, but if you're not legally allowed residence, you'll want to leave." So much for the stealthy approach, huh. Stepping into the approximate middle of the room, the redhead scans the surroundings, eerily glowing red eyes slightly narrowed as though in concentration. "Three obvious ways to go. Any preference?"
<OOC> Flicker says, "oh and by the way Fiaza WArd gives you. +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saving throws till you get hit or fail a savings roll that cancels the ward and have to apply again. :P"
<OOC> Yngvild says, "Also folks be blessed for 5 minutes"
Belladona looks around and she sniffs a bit, "So what are we looking for? Zombies? Skeleton? Ghosts? What exactly was haunting this place?" She asks as she look saround and Samafa sniffs after she gets petted. The lioness is wearing some silvery metal chain barding.
Flicker looks around and doesn't seem to mind the smell all that much, she grew up in a pretty disgusting little village of all gobbers and sometimes they weren't all that hygienic or slow about using certain things as building materials, or anything really for that matter. "The guy never said, only that it was haunted... I don't think he wanted to ever come in her and find out for sure."
1. "Just for a change I would like to fight something or somewhere that smells nice" Yngvild rumbles with a faintly mournful tone to her booming voice. At the orc's question she shrugs her large shoulders with a clattering of metal on metal. Not one of nature's stealthiest creatures "Haunting usually means ghosts.." she ventures a little uncertainly, but doesn't seem too worried.

<OOC> Bahken says, "So two doors and stairs, which way do you go?"
<OOC> Faiza says, "Stairs?"
<OOC> Yngvild says, "If they look solid enough, Yng will test"
<OOC> Faiza says, "If there's something up there, we face it first. If not, we get a good overview of the room below from the balcony."
<OOC> Bahken says, "Yng roll me knowldege/dungeoneering if you have it. perception otherwise"

<OOC> Bahken says, "Pose looking them over, tapping the step with the hammer then stepping 'slightly' off of that and the stair crunching a little."
Yngvild looks doubtfully at the stairs, and considers her rather impressive weight "Hmph" she says as she uses her huge hammer to tap several times, then slowly puts her foot up and weight down, all the way until she hears a cracking sound. A curse escapes her as she almost goes through, then steps back and tests the other side "Be carefull, they ain't that safe" she advises
"I don't know, I heard about one place that'd had a vampire locked inside for the last century or so," comments Faiza to Yngvild's comment about ghosts, peering into a darkened corner. "The thing had gone insane with boredom. I doubt there'd be anything like that here, though." As the taller woman tests the stairs, the Mul'niessa paladin steps up to cover her, and then makes her way slightly up the safer side of the staircase once it's been examined. "Stairs it is." She begins to cautiously move up along the indicated side, shield first.
The rest of the stairs seem safe if you keep to the right even for the giantkin's weight. At the top of the stairs there's an opening leading out onto the balcony overlooking the theater. Through what remains of the curtains you can see a chandelier with one burning candle on it. The stage's curtains (still mostly intact) are down and.. is that.. voices?

<OOC> Bahken says, "It did, so you went right to the edge of the balcony Flicker?"

Belladona hmms as she looks around as she hears the voices and she has her weapons ready, "Sounds like something is happening on the stage." She says as she focuses on that and looks around from her spot on the balcony.
<OOC> Faiza says, "Definitely stepping up with her, shield at the ready, then."
<OOC> Bahken says, "Safe to assume everyone is on the balcony? If so perception checks!"

Yngvild glances sidelong to Faiza and blinks "An insane Vampire, we are coming back with reinforcements. Many reinforcements" she rumbles, even as a Warrior she has limits. As the goblin charges past she blinks, but seems content to let the little one act as an impromtu mine detector, the large Aesir moving at a more cautious pace.

Looking slightly alarmed at the incautious approach by the gobber, Faiza rushes slightly to keep up, moving ahead with Flicker to try and cover her with her shield - or body, if need be. She's got those tanky instincts. "Careful--"
As you go in further, you can clearly hear voices from the stage area some fifty feet away. The thick curtain is down and still mostly holding up despite the years of neglect. From behind it you can hear a harsh voice, "THIS IS OUR LAST NIGHT! THAT WE WHO WERE SO LOST HAVE FOUND OUR ONLY PLIGHT DASH'D TO PIECES AT SUCH COST!" "No! Please! Your mad, stop!" a highpitched voice exclaims. "THAT'S NOT YOUR LINE!!!" The rough voice snarls, "BUT WHILE VARDAMA LOOKS DOWN, WE SHALL BOTH JOIN HER ERELONG, FOR WE WEAR BUT A SINGLE CROWN, FOR WHICH A DIRGE IS THE ONLY SONG!" The high-pitched voice replies, "No! No! Please Aiiiiiiiieeeee.... ..."

"Well not skeletons or zombies" Opines Yng as she hears the voices then glances back to the stairs "Down the stairs again unless someone wants to jump" she quips then starts her way down rather more carefully.
<OOC> Bahken says, "Twenty feet, but don't go crazy with your reaction pose :P"
Flickersmiles and wonders who it is and is a little sad she can't see them or whatever it is they are acting behind the curtain. But then her little dark eyes catch the orchestra pit and points, "Don't know what is behind the curtains, something white maybe, but look there in the pit, something is in it. Nope, only moving, don't know what is in it." She tries to be whispering, like she is some highborn pay goer in the best seats of the house discussing the play being acted out before them. In the moment one might say more than shouting it out like she might do normally.
Belladona hmms a little bit as she looks down, "There is something down there with all the musical insturments. Something is under the filth, if we go down there be careful of that."
<OOC> Faiza says, "How badly would it hurt if I jumped down? <.<"
<OOC> Yngvild says, "Or at least towards the stairs here"
<OOC> Bahken says, "1d6 per 10 feet I believe, if you have acrobatics less"
<OOC> Faiza says, "... stairs it is. Back down, then around."
<OOC> Flicker should have took flight and dramatically float down with arms out and imagining like... big blazoned orchestra music playing...

Ever had one of those days when everything goes wrong? That's Faiza's ENTIRE LIFE. She curses briefly - or at least utters something in Elven that sounds like it should be a curse - and lingers only long enough to squint out at the orchestra pit and the curtains beyond, as if trying to spot the things pointed out by the more perceptive members of the group. Then she whirls around and scrambles to get to the stairs and down them, to get the most direct route into the audience chamber proper without actually jumping down.

From just over the edge of the balcony, apparently clinging to the side swarms hundreds and hundreds of rats. Two large clusters, one covering Flicker and Faiza's area, while the other moves over and around Yngvild, Bella, and Samafa.

Belladona backs away as the rat bites are not making her feel well. "Samafa attack!" She calls out as the lioness goes into a flurry of attacks. She misses with a bite, but her two paws reach out to crush the life out of much of the rat swarm.
Three strange apparations dressed in white with black hair seem to crawl backwards across the stage and then cling to the curtain as one pulls a rope causing the curtain to rise. There in the middle of the stage stands a facing to the right. He turns towards the audience as the curtain rises and snarls, "NO! NO! NOT TILL THE THIRD ACT!" on the left half of his face is makeup and part of a wig. It's only then that he notices the flaming sword and adventurers and a high pitch squeal comes from him, "Oh no! Now we'll never open on time." Looking down at the ochestra pit, he snarls, "DON'T BLAME ME! BLAME THEM!" He then pulls a nearby coord, a trapdoor opens under him and he falls, then a rather horrific creature that looks like a bunch of rats with its tails tied together charges out of the orchestra pit as the apparitions run across the rafters, the wigs and white tatters falling away to reveal dire rats.

A rather loud "EWW" soon turns into an impressive stream of cursing as the swarm of filthy vermin washes over Yngvild. Still at least the goblin may feel at home. Or run away as it happens. The towering Aesir sneers slightly under her helm "Show some courage" she yells at Flicker as she hefts her hammer and smashes it down, scraping across her armor to try to dislodge the ones crawling into the joints. And manages to do little more than chip the floor.

Flicker isn't all that happy about being sick, nor being told to courage up and a string of foul gobber cursing, very unlady like and some a sailor might not even say due to respect and those around him. She seems mad and serious now as the new additions of rats themselves. "That isn't even good acting..." She growls and she speaks low, a glow surrounding her and she draws her pistol, "SoI, 'll get my shoot out after all."

Whoosh! Somehow, every single rat in the swarm surrounding Faiza manages to jump out of the way of that terrible, burning sword. The most damage she does is slightly singe the tail of one of them. The Mul'niessa paladin, frustrated, shakes a rat off her shield. "Damned little -vermin-. Get -off-!"

Belladona pages: Well if you think about the power behind it it makes sense a swat from a big cat will break bones and rend flesh.
Another swarm moves over to attack the Aesir. Her expression of disgust grows as she the tide of vermin does. She spins her massive hammer almost effortlessly as she screams "ANGORON" at the top of her lungs, somewhat higher pitched than usual. The -almost- girlish cry seems to have worked as the swing of her huge hammer pulverises much of the entire swarm, sending rat bits here, there and everywhere.

Belladona moves back as her stomach is feeling better as she chews on some herbs. She takes more herbs out of her pouches and she rubs them along her skin as she casts a spell on herself. Her flesh takes on a greenish brown tone. Samafa doesn't back down from the swarm of rats as she whirls and scatters the swarm around her with her claws and teeth.

The mass of rats tied together climbs up pillar right next to Faiza, hissing as it.. doesn't bite.. No it waits and then two direrats are dropping from the rafters, one between Yngvild Faiza and Samafa, and the other infront of Ynvild on the bannistar, then all attack. The screeching sound of teeth on metal is pretty awful, but no one seems the worse for wear of it.

The splattering of the rats seems to have cheered Yngvild up. Enough that she starts to bellow out a hymn to her god. Sadly what she has in volume she lacks in singing ability. Still it seems to work for her hammer comes up and around and turns the rat on the banister into some much blood and bits, splattering over her and all around and leaving a nasty smear.

Seeing Faiza face ti down and the other dire rat she begins to hop around, spin and flip as a finger touches the floor, drawing the same symbol she had earlier on her armor. It flares a little as she does and once more protects the armored one with her spell. Stupid rats might be something heard along with many other foul things being down to them as she does this.

Shield held defensively, Faiza studies the ratty horror for a moment, learning its movement patterns, before feinting to the right. Immediately after, the glow of that silvery flame arcs through the air to the -right- as the paladin spins around and hacks a deep gouge into the side of one of the monstrous rats that makes up the strange compound being. The sickly-sweet scent of burning flesh and singed fur fills the room. "Be wary, their bites bring sickness!" Apparently the shadow elf likes to state the obvious. Retreating several steps back in the flow of battle, she finds herself near one of the dire rats, causing it to have to split its attention between herself and Belladona's companion.

Belladona casts another spell on Samafa using the herbs from her pouch. "Attack Samafa." The druid commands and the lioness races to both down on the rat king with her enhanced bite.

The battlefield is a confusion of charred and pulped rat bodies, dire rats and rat horrors milling about and biting anything and everything, and adventurers trying desperately to avoid icky, icky rats in their armour. Moving up to the other wise of the clump of eerily synchronised rats, Faiza dodges a swipe of claws and carves a deep, bloody-and-charred gash into one of the vermin that makes up the rat king. "We hold the advantage!" she enthuses, breathing heavily from the exertion. "Press on! The goddess' light shines upon our endeavours!" Well, the light of that flaming sword does, but seeing as the flame is granted by Eluna, it counts for the same.

Flicker is mad now, and doesn't like such large rat like things, or anything really that wants her dead up that close. Another swing of her pistol and she tries for the dire rat, connecting on its face, only really pissing it off as the pistol smacks it and it doesn't appear to do much.

Samafa's flurry of teeth and claws comes up empty this time for all her enhanced attacks. Belladona sees this and doesn't want the rats to escape as she rushes up and lands a solid slicing attack with her orcish claws.
The dire rat continues to fight, it knows no better. It's incisors gloss over the magic bubble that protects Flicker. The Rat King climbs up into the rafters and moves to escape through a hole in the wall.

Flicker is seriously mad and it took long enough to get one shot off as it was. That damn thing wasn't getting away and flicking up her Dragonspitter she cracks off the shot. Loud for that little balcony space the bullet hits the Rat King thing as it tries to go through its hole to escape and in a spray of blood and explosive like fur it smear itself all over the rafters. It falls back the tied tales catching int he rafters and swinging a back and forth, not moving any more, "It won't mess with a gobber any more..." Against some more cursing in gobber talk about sending the thing to somewhere better not mentioned.
As the gobber reduces the rat king to a bloody smear on the wall, Faiza glances over her shoulder at the remaining dire rat... and then steps AWAY from it, approaching Flicker and pressing a hand to the smaller woman's shoulder. A gentle, silvery glow suffuses the area surrounding that hand and seems to sink into her flesh, knitting wounds together and staunching the flow of blood.
Belladona moves over as Samafa watches the rat king get exploded. The druid finishes off the last of the dire rats as she rakes her claws across it, "Filthy vermin."

The little gobber gal doesn't take anything for chance at this point and is reloading her pistol while there is a chance. The bites might be healing, but she doesn't completely feel as good as she could, "Filthy plague passers... Vermin suckers of the lowest order. Disserve what it got..." She can tell the fever was already beginning to start, the air felt colder then it should, who knows what else it passed on, "Yeah I think it got me good good too." She does look a little unsteady on her feet and not so sprightly and active as she was before the fight.

A quick once over of the dressing rooms and stage reveal little but filth. In the trapdoor however the wood work underneath appears to have long been worn away revealing a hole down into what seems to be a storm drain. Water rushes by underneath and mildew grows heavily in the area. Numerous costumes and masks are down there. A small scribbled note in a crass hand says, "THE FOOLS, RATS WITH MASKS AND WHEN THEY SHINE THE LIGHT ON THEM ALL THEY SEE IS THE MASKS. THEY CALL IT GHOSTS. I CALL IT MINE!!!

Yngvild pulls out one of her satchels as she heads over to Flicker. Despite her earlier words she treats the little goblin gently, the large cleric going down on one knee and spreading various herbs and ungents on the wounds left, and pushing some of the bitter herbs towards Flickers mouth "Eat these" she says somewhat commandingly "And make a tea from this that you drink tomorrow morning. Or else I will come around" she adds, handing over a small satchel.
"Well now, that's downright disconcerting," says Faiza, frowning as she turns one of the masks over in her hands, staring at the note. "I wonder what actually put them up to it." She pauses, narrow red eyes scanning the clumbling interior of the building.
